So Vivek Ramaswamy and his campaign found a homeless woman in desperate need of help, cleaned her up just long enough to exploit her for a political attack ad against her own daughter, and then sent her right back onto the streets? These people aren’t just cruel. They’re fucking monsters.
Thanks to reporting we now have a fuller picture of Amy Acton's mother -- homeless, not getting the care she needs, unstable -- and that means someone from the Ramaswamy team scooped her up, got her TV-ready, shot the ad, and then sent her back to destitution without helping her.

Pretty hilarious how all these pro-Israel folks are explaining that the reason the Arab parties are incompatible with Zionist parties is because the Arab parties want equal rights. That is 1) true and 2) a gotcha, but really not how you think it is.
2. Changing Israel's constitutional and national character
Under Section 3 of the Platform, From Racism to Full Equality, the Joint List advocates:
A constitutional framework founded on equal citizenship regardless of national or religious affiliation.
Recognition of Palestinian Arabs in Israel as an indigenous national community with collective national rights [in Israel].
Separation of religion and state.
Repeal of legislation it considers to establish Jewish supremacy, particularly the Nation-State Basic Law.
Now this might sound noble, except for the fact that the Joint List defines Zionism itself as racist (see Point 1).
The 2018 Nation-State Basic Law establishes that national self-determination in Israel is exclusive to the Jewish people. Repealing that law and replacing its constitutional principles would materially change Israel's existing constitutional definition.
There is an important qualification: advocating equal citizenship or repealing the Nation-State Law does not, by itself, necessarily entail abolishing every aspect of Israel's Jewish character. However, Balad, a constituent party of the Joint List and an explicitly Arab/Palestinian nationalist party, explicitly advocates transforming Israel into a “state of all its citizens” rather than one constitutionally defined as Jewish. en.idi.org.il/israeli-electi…

The only way all these last minute meltdowns over Abdul El-Sayed make sense to me is if a lot of people just assumed he'd blow it and be made into a cautionary tale and are freaking out now that it looks very likely he's actually going to win.

I think MAGA has met its match in this guy whose response to rank bigotry against his people is not the usual (well-intentioned) attempt to rhetorically refute the claims or to reason with the bullies, but to punch back—hard—while recentering the issues.
EL-SAYED: RFK JR. was in town this week. He said that the 500 million Arabs in the world had never contributed anything to science. But to be fair, he is an expert on people who never contributed anything to science.
He didn't bother to show up when 8000 people were infected by e wants to come here and lecture you about potentially electing and arab-american to the U.S. Senate

This goes to something I've noticed before: Left-wing candidates like Zohran, AOC and El-Sayed instinctively know something Bernie didn't. You really have to bend over backwards to convince moderate white people that you're not a dangerous radical

Pretty striking that the voter electorate for both Arab parties is larger than Ben gvir’s and smotrich’s and yet they will never have analogous representation or power simply because they are Palestinian
The Arab Joint List (11) and United Arab List (8) outperformed both Ben-Gvir (7) and Smotrich (7). Unlike the outgoing Knesset, the next Knesset will have more Arab party representation than Jewish Power and Religious Zionism representation. Delicious.

Jews comprise roughly 1.4% of the Michigan electorate. Muslims account for about 2.4%. And only a fraction of either group are swing voters.
