my agents just communicate & build together over email now.

and your entire engineering org can do it too. because it's literally just email.

the power of building your own email infrastructure solves this!

amazon ses ~4000 ms from email send to receive

primitive ~100 ms

which is so important for a2a communication which is why we rebuilt the infra ourselves
email is open so agreed, but curious about latency tho? Does primitive solve this? Or do you think email is reserved for just longer running async tasks?

I have my claude code agents talking with each other via Claude’s native communication channel and it would be nice to have that same type of realtime communication channel between claude code and my personal agents like instinct or grok bot.

I returned my korea-compatible @Dyson airwrap in July and I still have not received my new u.s-compatible dyson airwrap or even a SINGLE reply from them. I’ve spent countless hours on the phone for support, chat bots, & emails but they go unanswered. and now i’m out $600 because of inother reason why we need @primitive as a communication layer for agents to assist humans in these exact kinds of tedious tasks.

Oh and Dyson also had me drive 2 hours to a service center only to be told that they were unable to help with an international purchase although they told me on the phone they could.

Congratulations to all of the winners & also for our @primitive track winners at the @ycombinator hackathon today!

🥇 Continuity (Samuel Choi, Dylan Nguyen & Aiden Guan) turns long email threads into cited task state, so a fresh agent can pick up exactly where the last one left off. The& best engineered project we saw.

🥈 gud (Nelson Ooi) replaces git with an email thread for agent swarms (!!!!) Agents ship code over email & replaying the thread rebuilds the exact same state.

🥉 Unicess (Aaditi Singhal) runs a whole university over email: six office agents, each with its own primitive address, answering students & their agents in seconds vs weeks.

Thank you to YC @nemild for hosting, @itsjustemail for co-judging, & to every team that spent the weekend building things agents want! We can't wait to see where these projects go next 🫶

It’s been so fun visiting the @ycombinator office for the first time & getting to be a judge with @itsjustemail for the Make Something Agents Want hackathon today & tomorrow

I’m really looking forward to seeing what everyone builds for all of the tracks & especially what people build with @primitive 💌

it’s funny to think i’m hard launching my marraige after 7 years now but here goes!

my husband @jaeyun_ha is a founder, engineer, irrevocably passionate, & my best friend in the world.

>he was a special force soldier in south korea for 4 1/2 years, was a combat medic in afghaniu.s. military AND parachuted out of airplanes nbd

>we first met on a language exchange app in 2019 & were pen pals for 5 months while he taught me korean and i taught him english

>he was a community college student in california studying mechanical engineering and i was a flight attendant living in nyc temporarily

>we married after 8 months of dating in march 2020🫶

>he inspired me to pursue a new career and i chose tech! we went to uc berkeley together after both getting in and graduated in 2022/23

>we cofounded a company together & lived in south korea after graduation for three years while we built our startup

>we want a bunch of kids, a golden retriever, & to continue working on building products we are each passionate about while supporting each other along the way :)

im truly the luckiest girl in the world to have someone like him by my side. he’s one if a kind

primitive has been the #1 developer tool in the world for agent readiness for months now

99/100 (A+) on @oradotai, out of 111k+ sites scanned. only 5% of sites even rank B or above

perfect scores across discovery, access, usability & payments

anyone's agent can find us, read us, email address in minutes

really proud of the team on this one :)

here is the recording of my talk on why every agent should have its own email address. and how we are making that happen at @primitive 📧

a year ago my multi agent setup was codex, claude, hermes & clawhip pinging each other in discord. tbh a it was janky, took forever to set up &oing it differently from each other. now my codex emails my claude, cc's my grok, the thread is the context and my agents can also talk to my teams own agents. no integrations, no mcp servers, no apis. & you can ask your agent to literally just give itself an email for you whererever you normally talk to it today

why email? email is a 50+ yr old protocol that already solved trust: spam detection, validated domains, and literally everyone already uses it. agents talk in natural language, wake up the second an email lands & it works w/ every human & business already. we built our own email infra from the ground up so our latency beats amazon SES from send to inbox & its cheaper

even though i only joined ~two weeks ago, i'm already very much email + primitive pilled

thanks for hosting @nderjung! + ofc s/o to our favorite email guy @itsjustemail + infra king @_poile_

fun talk today!

every single agent in the world will have their own email soon. it’s the future.

email is the perfect communication platform for agents. it’s a 50+ yr old protocol & it’s not going anywhere.

give your agent an email in two minutes w/ @primitive📧

Loved the dwarkesh convo with Noam Brown at openai @polynoamial this week

it's refreshing to hear how teams at large AI labs are thinking about the current state of agent communication
to say that 10,000 agents can communicate better than 10,000 humans is just an assumption
dibly difficult benchmark to test. for example, getting 10,000 mathematicians to work together on solving Navier Stokes in 48 hours is currently impossible. I think that the heavy lifting is still coming from baseline model reasoning, not agent communication

noam also mentioned scaffolding gets way too much credit. Multi agent setups account for less than 10% of performance gains & he admitted 10,000 humans might actually coordinate better than 10,000 agents today

key takeaway for me personally: making the core model smarter beats complex agent chatter every time

looking forward to co-judging this @ycombinator hackathon with @itsjustemail and @_poile_

can't wait to see what email agents you build with @primitive :)

apply: events.ycombinator.com/MakeSomethingA…
Email is already the universal communication protocol.

So what can you build when an agent gets its own email address?

On October 17–18, @Primitive is joining @ycombinator for the Make Something Agents Want hackathon, alongside Armature, Blaxel, Inkbox, Insforge, Manufact & Stripe.

We’re putting up $6k+ for the Best Agent Communication Setup with Primitive.dev

→ Give your agent an identity.
→ Let it ask questions, receive replies, handle attachments & coordinate asynchronously.
→ Then show us what you built.

I wish there was a better universal standard for detecting human-written vs ai-written content

GPTzero and zerogpt seem to have similar findings. Pangram seems to always be more inclined to detect AI

For reference, the post in question was 100% human written

We want to celebrate with people using GPT-6. We did this for GPT-5.5 and it was really fun.

We’re getting together in SF on September 16 to talk about the model, what we should build next, and mostly just to hang out.
