Incredibly excited to announce: I’ve decided to join @primitive to help build the communication layer for agents!

Email is already the universal protocol for getting things done online. The problem is the infrastructure behind it was built for humans, not agents

Because of this, Primitive is rebuilding that infrastructure from the ground up so agents can have their own email address, ask questions, receive answers, handle attachments, coordinate with other agents & actually participate in the world asynchronously. Primitive agents will integrate into your infrastructure, not the other way around.

I love the idea of building agentic systems that move from passive observers to useful participants & I'm incredibly excited to ship alongside Ethan @itsjustemail Ben @_poile_ & the rest of the team :)

a yc startup building email infra for agents claims to have discovered 49 new exoplanet candidates...

...what
we’re very pleased to announce that Primitive Research has identified 49 exoplanet candidates and counting (yes, seriously)

we searched TESS light curves from more than 19 million stars to get here

so as not to overwhelm the incredible TESS TOI Vetting Team, we’ve submitted one candidate and are holding the rest at their request

the submission was via email, of course ;)

we’ve been automating much of the painstaking work astronomers do: searching TESS data, cross-checking other sources, and vetting signals through to detailed candidate dossiers. the 49 passed our initial screening against published vetting thresholds and are ready to be considered for telescope follow-up, which we’re actively pursuing

we strongly believe this approach is novel, and we’re authoring a paper with astrophysicists on the methodology

we plan to release the data and analyses in the coming weeks

these candidates are phase 1. next, we want to find a nearby transiting habitable-zone planet candidate whose atmosphere could be studied. much more on that later

we had some amazing partners on this that we will shout out soon

if you’re interested in working with us, our DMs are open

i’m willing to bet they already independently invented DNS and SMTP

Unironically, because of email, humans will be a multi-planetary species.

Amazing, I was there while he was working on this and he was just like "I think I just found a planet!" Fantastic work.

every harness i run does one job and lives on a different box
the bridge between them was literally me

an email per agent fixes that in the dumbest way possible
it just sits in the inbox till the agent wakes up

dupes are on you tho

Today, I’m sharing that I quit my job to build the next generation of intelligent software.

The chat interface is a bottleneck for working with agentic software. I believe that the future of SaaS is generative and visual, understanding users' needs and adapting, not waiting for a prompt. Incredible progress has been made with personal agents, yet the limitation lies in the ergonomics.

In the past year, I led a team of engineers building remarkably capable, non-chat agentic software for some of the most influential firms in the world. Before that, I built leading-edge agentic infrastructure tooling. Now I'm putting those learnings into a product.

I believe so strongly in this that I left my job at our acquiring company to pursue solving this problem full-time.

I cannot wait to share the first realization of this vision. More to come very soon!!

we just launched @omnaraai on hacker news

an open-source alternative to claude managed agents: durable agents via api, self-hostable, bring your own models and machines. agents survive restarts and cost nothing while idle

@kartiksmath wrote up the architecture in the post ateless workers, laptop-to-cloud failover)
