Interesting perspective... 'Miniature Particle Accelerators'
Old cathode ray tube TVs were essentially miniature particle accelerators sitting in our living rooms.

It's fascinating to think that for decades we watched images created by an electron gun firing beams at a phosphor-coated screen, making pixels glow thousands of times per second.

Good idea...
Repeating my request -

Start long lease for individual doctors to have clinics in Pune Metro stations. Do NOT sell that space to corporate healthcare.
Start at-least one Jan-aushadhi shop in these medical hubs.
Metro stations are convenient and accessible to people on wheelchairs too.

Make them into diverse medical hubs. Bring community spirit back in our communities.

Impressive... with all the new tech, steel still remains a key foundation of growth and development.
In 2014, India made less steel than Japan.

In 2025, India made more steel than the US and Japan put together.

Read that again.

87 million tonnes in 2014.
165 million tonnes in 2025.

Almost doubled in one decade. In the same decade, Japan fell 27%. The US fell 7%.

India is l producer. Only China is ahead.

And steel is not a services story / an app story. It is what a nation builds with railways, bridges, factories, ships, guns. The countries that ruled the 20th century were the countries that made the most steel.

The strange part? Nobody is talking about this. Just one quiet line in a World Steel Association release.

Bharat is rising. 🙏🙏

#Pralay ... congratulations @DRDO_India
DRDO successfully conducted the flight test of the indigenously developed Pralay Missile off the coast of Odisha today at 1110 hrs.

The test was conducted as part of user evaluation trials and successfully met all the stipulated objectives, as validated by data captured through ts.

This successful trial marks another significant milestone in strengthening India’s indigenous defence capabilities.

True across all cities, I guess (especially the case in Pune)
Have people in Delhi just let go of trying to follow any traffic rules? You can’t blame the system itself if the people just refuse to follow even basics like a traffic signal.

Beginning of the end... Start of the 3rd Anglo Maratha War.

Battle of Khadki (near present day university campus), 209 days ago this day in Pune.
The story of 5 Nov 1817 when the Third Anglo Maratha War began with Peshwa Bajirao II orfered his troops to attack the British Residency. This led to the battle of Khadki later that day. A series of battles followed till the war ended on 3 June 1818 with the Peshwa forced to s of Nagpur began the war at Nagpur but were defeated.

No other Maratha chief could join the war.

Generally marks the time most of India (barring Punjab) was taken over by the British.

Interesting...
How much energy does empty space contain?

Our two best theories give answers that differ by a number with up to 120 zeros.

Quantum theory says empty space is never truly empty. Every field, for every particle, keeps jittering even at its lowest energy, and all that jitter rgy in every cubic metre of space. Add it up in the simplest way and the result is enormous.

Gravity disagrees. Energy curves space, so that much vacuum energy would have torn the universe apart before a single atom could form. When astronomers finally measured it, in 1998, they found the energy of empty space is tiny: about the mass-energy of four hydrogen atoms per cubic metre.

The simplest estimate is too large by roughly 10^120. Some physicists argue that figure is crude, and that careful calculations shrink the gap to about 10^55. Even that is the largest mismatch between theory and measurement anywhere in science.

Nobody knows why. Perhaps hidden effects cancel almost perfectly. Perhaps we live in one of countless universes, and only one with a tiny value could host life. In 1987, Steven Weinberg used that reasoning to predict a small but non-zero value, eleven years before it was measured. Many physicists find the argument unsatisfying all the same.

The deeper question is what "empty" means. If nothing can contain energy, then nothing is something, and we do not yet understand what it is.

Energy storage is critical in balancing the renewables (especially solar energy output)
Store More → Import Less → Power India Round the Clock!

The Cabinet has approved a massive Rs 14,500 crore push to develop 92 GWh of energy storage capacity, supporting an estimate of almost 1 lakh crore investment!

Unique features are:

60 GWh of pumped hydro storage.

30 GWh of battery energy storage.

2 GWh through emerging technologies.

40% minimum domestic content for battery storage projects.

Truly, it is more reliable power, greater renewable energy integration and stronger energy security.

No one in India is shedding tears for the @GOP loss. They recognize that many of the extreme left candidates that won are as bad as MAGA, but they had a much better relationship with the U.S. during Biden era.

Trump-Vance just blew everything up - internationally and domestically. Not one constructive thing in the last 2 years. That’s the price you pay for destroying rather than building.

@TheDemocrats may want to learn the lesson.
