Sudden Cardiac Death in the young - 1/5th of the cases have a definite #genetic cause.
Three conditions predominate
Cardiac Channelopathies which cause abnormal heart rhythm
Cardiomyopathy involving muscles of heart
Familial Hypercholesterolemia which remain undiagnosed.

@docbhooshan Any family history of sudden unexplained death below the age of 45 years is an indication for at least basic screening of close relatives which includes but is not limited to a proper complete physical examination with a baseline ECG and a baseline echocardiogram even in children

COVID - Vaccinations have become charlatan's best argument for the gullible in all fields of medicine.
Dr Scaria puts forth a good scientific view to direct our focus towards prevention of disasters.
But he offers no villains and no quick fixes that public and politicians love to hate.
Being a good doctor with scientific thinking about larger health issues is a burden he must bear alone.

Sudden cardiac death in the young. A tragedy we need to talk about. 🧵
When a young person suddenly dies, we often blame stress, overwork, the gym or COVID. But are we looking deep enough? These explanations are not always supported by evidence.

Cost of medical education and high entry cost of real estate pushes underprivileged young doctors to corporate jobs.
This defeats very purpose of community anchored healthcare.
Govt can help by opening up infrastructure for them.
As it is govt gives prime land and tax breaks to corporate hospitals. Why not help real individuals?

Repeating my request -
Start long lease for individual doctors to have clinics in Pune Metro stations. Do NOT sell that space to corporate healthcare.
Start at-least one Jan-aushadhi shop in these medical hubs.
Metro stations are convenient and accessible to people on wheelchairs too.
Make them into diverse medical hubs. Bring community spirit back in our communities.

@docbhooshan Agree totally... young qualified doctors need to be given a break... and this is the best opportunity for the government to show how much they are interested in the (GenZ) doctors 👍

This is truly a very good news.
A Major Breakthrough for Shivajinagar | Maharashtra’s Largest & Most Modern MSRTC Bus Terminal!
In a significant development for Chhatrapati Shivajinagar, the original Shivajinagar ST Bus Stand is set to be redeveloped into a modern, integrated transport hub, planned to be the largrashtra.
Today, at Sahyadri Guest House, Mumbai, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between MSRTC and Maha Metro, in the presence of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis Ji, taking this long-awaited project a major step closer to reality.
For me, this is a particularly important milestone. For the past five years, I have been consistently pursuing the redevelopment and restoration of the Shivajinagar Bus Stand at its original location. From meetings at the government level to sustained coordination with the Transport Department, MSRTC and concerned authorities, ensuring that Shivajinagar regains this critical public transport facility has remained one of my key priorities.
The proposed ₹825 crore project, to be developed through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, will feature modern passenger waiting areas, bus parking, a dedicated workshop and commercial facilities.
The tender is expected to be floated next month, with construction planned for completion over the following three to four years.
Most importantly, this project will integrate MSRTC, Pune Metro, Railways, PMPML and auto-rickshaw services, creating a major multimodal transport hub in the heart of Pune.
Expected to benefit over one lakh passengers daily, it will significantly improve connectivity for commuters travelling towards Khandesh, Marathwada, Vidarbha and Mumbai.
With the Shivajinagar–Hinjewadi Metro now inaugurated and this major bus terminal redevelopment moving forward, Chhatrapati Shivajinagar is steadily emerging as one of Pune’s most important public transport and connectivity hubs.
My sincere gratitude to Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis Ji, Transport Minister Shri Pratap Sarnaik Ji and the Mahayuti Government for taking this important project forward.

Doctors should not issue blanket bans on endurance sports for the general public
The Indian population is very sedentary as it is
You can have a car accident
Does that stop you from driving on the road?

I suspect, this kind of ruined road work must lead to promotions of civil servants.
Otherwise they would not be doing it with obsessive regularity.

Nothing new in this news, but it serves as a periodic reminder of administrative apathy and incompetence, lest we forget them amid the euphoria of shiny metro travelling through the skies.

In 1952 Winnicott wrote to Melanie Klein, who he admired, warning that her followers were turning her discoveries into a private language that had to be spoken correctly. Her ideas, he told her, would stay alive only if people rediscovered them in their own way and described them in their own words. He was more right than he knew.

DSM has been oversold & overbought. It is not:
1)applicable to most people in general population
2)meant to be used in self diagnosis
3)a golden path toward self understanding
4)a self help manual
5)an encyclopedia of human behaviors
It is a:
1)valuable, but fallible, way to sort psychiatric symptoms
2)vehicle of clinical communication
3)necessary guide to treatment planning
4)tool for clinical & epidemiological research

When a diagnosis like autism or ADHD becomes a way to understand yourself, we have a problem.
Psychiatry was not created as a tool for self-development or self-knowledge. It applies the medical model to human behaviour and experiences and in doing so, frequently pathologises them. It categorises but it does not explain.
If you look to psychiatry to provide the answers as to why you are the way you are, you are inevitably going to be frustrated. That just isn’t what psychiatry can do.

We Indian have multiple "modes". About behaviour, rule abiding, modernness, trust etc.
everything depends on scale, location, companions, etc.
no single rule at all.
Negotiating this multi-dimensioned chess with fluid rules is what makes india incomprehensible to developed world.
We are like that only !

My batchmate had a heart attack. Yesterday.
26 yrs old. Thank God, he's fine now.
Stop glorifying the hustle porn, guys, pls 🙏
10-12 hour shifts, infinite chai-sutta, no weekend rest. Zomato at 3AM, sleeping 4 hours just to brag and look cool.
All while sitting on your ass for 15 hours a day.
Kaise zinda rahoge bhai? Trading your youth for a generic SDE 2 title? Pathetic.
