Tackling performance across a decade-old codebase with 10M+ lines of code isn't an overnight flick of a switch—the Grab team achieved it by rolling out R8 Compat Mode with Startup Profiles, moving to Full Mode, and using the R8 Configuration Analyzer and refining their keep rules to push their optimization scores past 78% alongside strict CI guardrails.
