The irony of Dems wanting to destroy Elon Musk when they’re supported financially and logistically by George Soros, who’s the closest thing to Satan on Earth.
NEW: Robert Reich calls for the "defunding" of Elon Musk, calls for Democrats to go after Musk's companies.

"Democrats ought to [start] laying the groundwork for nationalizing Starlink & SpaceX... It should be a public corporation."

Does he want Musk to drop another $50M on the midterms?

The Euro will make this problem even worse, bc you can’t have a single currency but over a dozen separate fiscal policies.
The point of no return by Richard von Mises is worth reading:

"A state becomes almost unreformable when the majority of the population is financially or structurally dependent on the state (state employees, civil servants, recipients of subsidies, grants, or transfer payments, who net benefit from or are supported by the state outnumber those who do not, the system blocks reforms, since the majority votes out of self-interest for the preservation or expansion of state services."

Does this sound familiar? Some European countries, France, Belgium, Finland are already way beyond that point, closely followed by Germany, Spain, Austria and Italy. It works for a while, as long as markets buy more sovereign debt at reasonable interest rates. The party ends when they stop though. For France, they stopped this month, Belgium will be next.

The longer the socialist illusion persists, the more painful the inevitable cuts and adjustments will be. It’s pure arithmetic. Good luck Europe, good luck Euro. Buckle up, it won’t be pretty.

@an0n_Nic I've talked about this.

When the economy stagnates, the pie gets fixed, and everyone realizes that the only way to survive is to steal other people's slices.

So everyone joins a voting bloc in the attempt to demographically smash other blocs.

x.com/coalpost/statu…
@MorrisseyJacka@an0n_Nic with some of his views, Peter Theil said this 20 odd years ago, and has been vindicated.

One of the reason why it's all sunshine and rainbows in the first world is because economic growth makes people not care so much if others get richer. This is because people get a feeling that a person who gets rich, starts businesses, or earns a higher salary is *making* their success "from the aether".

He predicted that, when the west stops growing and stagnates, society will gradually collapse. All personality, society, politics, culture and all other basic properties of the west have become reliant upon economic growth. With stagnation, people no longer feel like the rich are making success. Rather, they think that they are taking it.

To quote him in a podcast around a week ago: "with stagnation, society comes to view that for every winner, there must be a loser."

The UK has suffered some of the most significant economic decline since 1998 - around a 40% drop in median salary purchasing power. The US hasn't economically stagnated so much - it's actually pulled away from all of Europe.

It is simply this stagnation - nay, decline - that breeds the zero-sum mentality that festers across the UK. Every vote is about stealing from the old to give to the young (triple lock), stealing from the young to give to the old (higher income taxes), stealing from London to give to the north (highest relative tax burden on high earners in all of Europe). Everything is stealing. Nothing is making.

“The [French] politicians are the symptom, it’s the entitled voters that are the disease.” 🎯
FT comments never miss.

I don’t think I’ve read such a rational analysis of the situation we’re in for a long time.

What’s a movie scene that made you laugh so hard your stomach hurt and you genuinely struggled to catch your breath?

The kind of scene where even thinking about it years later still makes you laugh.

Eh, like a lot of politicians, she’s a con artist.
Ilhan Omar didn’t used to dress modestly and wear a hijab.

Nothing unusual about turning towards faith as a person matures, but it is strange that her inspiration was 9/11, the worst terrorist attack in history, perpetrated by Muslims against her adopted country.

Let this incident serve as yet another reminder that those who engage in blatantly antisocial behavior in public settings aren’t merely displaying a lack of manners. Whether it’s smoking or playing loud music, what they’re doing is daring those around them to confront them. If passengers stay silent and avoid eye-contact, the antisocial thug gets to tell himself it’s because he’s such a badass. If someone does speak up, the antisocial ruffian gets to use that as an excuse to give in to his violent impulses.

A quick post on how psychopaths use both victimization reversal strategies, and institutional triangulation, in order to disrupt and overthrow the established order.

Which can include our own constitutional republic.

Don't think it can't either a.) happen to you, or b.) happen here. These things scale.

Wait…Lindsey Graham was gay?

We need to reevaluate everything we thought about him!
BREAKING: Three male escorts say the late Republican Senator Lindsey Graham paid them for sex.

One of them was reportedly 17 at the time.

Having grown up in the grey Midwest and then lived in NYC before moving to Denver 25 years ago - you can’t overestimate what 300 days of sunshine plus amazing mountain winters does for your overall mindset…
I don't want to be too harsh on Denver, a city I know very well, but I wouldn't wholeheartedly recommend it.

It's not a bad city in the grand scheme of American cities. In fact, among the sprawling, car-dependent metros that dominate much of the country, it's one of the better ones. But it *is* mostly sprawl, public transit is very limited, and downtown is still relatively small and dead at night. Traffic is also a major problem.

There are a lot of cities like this in the US, and Denver is one of the better ones, but it's objectively not great if you're looking for a real urban experience. And worse, because it is one of the better sprawly metros, with high incomes, housing is also very expensive.

So if you want a nice place in the suburbs with plenty of sunshine, reasonably close to the mountains (though it's still a bit of a drive, they're not right next door), and relatively numerous white-collar job opportunities, it's a good choice. But don't expect anything like Chicago, Philly, DC, Boston, or even Seattle. It's much closer to a cross between Atlanta and Minneapolis.

This is 100% true but most people simply won’t acknowledge it publicly bc doing so would get them accused of being a “bigot” or “racist” or “Islamophobe” and that absolutely terrifies them.
The Muslim Brotherhood is not extremist, it is Islamist, and thus cannot even be placed on the Western ideological spectrum.

Islam is a ‘complete system’ that includes religion, governance, and law. There is no ‘render unto Caesar’ and Islam forbids the space between religion and government that liberalism requires to function.

This is a totally neutral, judgement-free description so I don’t even know what we’re doing here. Islam is non-compatible with liberalism and democracy and any good Islamist will tell you this.

There's something odd about @curtis_yarvin calling the Muslim Brotherhood extremist, considering that he himself disavows democracy and openly calls for the establishment of a monarchy in America. By any reasonable standard, he's an extremist in the American context.

Have seen a ton of shows over the last 40 yrs, including the Allman Brothers ~10 times in the 1990s - they were WITHOUT QUESTION the greatest live performers ever…the level of musicianship and telepathy between them was just on a completely different level than any other band.
What’s insane about the Allman Brothers is that they lost a Hendrix/Clapton level guitarist in Duane Allman who was also the soul and driving force of the band and they were STILL one of the greatest rock bands in the world. It’s as if the Beatles lost Paul McCartney but kept on going.

I remember the 1991 PA Senate race, polls had Harris Wofford running ahead of former Gov Dick Thornburgh, and the GOP cope was, “This’ll scare passive GOP voters into showing up on Election Day!”

It didn’t happen; Wofford won easily.

Feels like similar GOP cope this week.
NYT & CNN polls both show record-low approval for Trump and double digit generic ballot leads for Dems.

Some on the right will dismiss these polls as a coordinated psy-op designed to depress GOP votes. On the left, Dems will say this is an accurate snapshot of an impending blue waven 13 days.....

I genuinely feel bad that younger generations might never experience Christmas shopping the way we did. The beautifully decorated stores, the crowded malls, Christmas music playing everywhere. You didn’t even need money to enjoy it. Just walking around and soaking up the atmosphere felt magical.

Translation: if midterm elections don’t go the way Progressives expect, there will be coordinated protests designed to provoke an aggressive response from the Trump administration 😂
A small group of U.S. national security officials has been discreetly advising state and congressional lawmakers on how to prepare for the possibility that the Trump administration will attempt to interfere in the midterms, according to people involved. wapo.st/3WjVke5
