This is not the messaging that resonates with the median UK voter.
Even if it is true (vast majority of UK jobs over the years have gone to foreign nationals, ONS), the median voter does not want a party that bases its entire policy on specific grievances against specific identities. It is not British to be so overt and mean spirited.
The general UK public already have enough of this form of politics, where campaigns orbit around an "enemy" to destroy with ethnic voting blocs.
The native UK populace craves for a party that politely admits what is direly wrong with the country and politely defines the manifesto to tackle the issues in a serious, credible manner.
Such a political force requires ~400 Rupert Lowes, ideally 20 years younger. Sadly, this is not what restore has. Instead, Restore is composed of a rag-tag band of begrieved zoomers and lord of the ring scholars who wistfully yearn for the good old days and the ubermensch.

We will deliver a Britain where the waiters and shop workers are British teenagers, not grown Indian men.

I can sort of imagine this coming from a 22 year old who has just watched Master and Commander for the first time.
No but seriously, the UK right is in such a state.
An army of Rupert Lowes 20 years younger would rule the seas.

Limitless wealth. Levels of prosperity not presently conceivable. 50 billion Anglo-Saxons spread across the cosmos.
The future is ours if we want it badly enough.

As Plato argued in The Republic, rule by the demos contains no internal check against organised groups that vote to steal from other groups.
There is no mechanism in democracy that blocks coalitions from electing representatives who loot other people and funnel the proceeds into their own bloc. The system is critically vulnerable to it.
Plato actually preferred aristocracy - rule by the best (from the Ancient Greek *aristos*). This was a largely unelected philosophical elite that would govern through argument rather than headcount. Policy would rest on wisdom and the long-term good, not on whichever voting bloc is currently biggest.
The UK has experienced some of the worst that democracy has to offer in living memory.
Since the 1960s, the oversized boomer cohort has outvoted every other age group, locking in pro-boomer politics for their entire adult lives. Like a rat working its way through a snake’s belly, they first voted themselves massive pension contribution boosts and low taxation while young. Then, as they aged, they switched and began voting in record-low pension contributions and high taxation, systematically extracting from the young. At every stage of their lives they voted the most pro-boomer policy available, continuously rewriting the rules in their favor as their interests changed. France and much of Europe ran the same program. It is the single biggest cause of the youth riots now burning across the continent.
Then came the second stage. Labour blew open the UK’s borders with their 1997–98 immigration reforms. After twenty-five years of mass immigration, the country has developed deeply rooted, segregated ethnic voting blocs. This is not subtle. It is visible in every recent election and by-election result. Look at Gorton and Denton and Holborn and St Pancras: the campaigns increasingly center on how much each candidate will steal from everyone else to deliver to their own co-ethnics. Candidates now even campaign in the native languages of their co-ethnics, openly celebrating the scale of the theft they will enact if elected.
It has also produced the new lovely concept called the "Gaza MP" - such as Adnan Hussain - where Islamic co-ethnics band together to vote in an MP purely on the basis of religion and a foreign war. These MP's first loyalty is not to the UK, but to their co-ethnics.
What this shows is that Western democracy is in its twilight. It is now a sclerotic machine that does exactly what Plato predicted: organized voting blocs thuggishly rape and plunder other blocs, in an endless game of demographics.
Interestingly, taking a step out to another continent, Singapore already ran this script to its logical conclusion. Before Lee Kuan Yew, the island suffered the same democratic pathologies the West is now rediscovering. Ethnic warfare and lawfare between the main groups were routine. The legal system was dominated by ethnic outcomes, kangaroo courts and judges who sided with co-ethnics. Politicians campaigned on open, crude theft of other ethnicities. It was apocalyptic.
When LKY took power he looked at how democracy was actually functioning and immediately smashed up many parts of it. His sweeping reforms across the political and legal system were aimed at one thing: ending the bloody, nasty ethnic warfare that was eating the country to death. He replaced ethnic majoritarianism with a system that prioritized order, merit and the long-term survival of the country over the short-term plunder of any single bloc.
The west is, sadly, on the same trajectory. The demographic logic Plato identified has now fully matured. The only remaining question is whether western societies will similarly dismantle the parts of democracy that enable organized plunder before the plunder finishes dismantling the society itself.

The renters rights act in the UK has made the rental market work more similar to a rent controlled market.
My experience recently of trying to rent a flat on London has been nightmarish. It's like a 6 step FAANG interview process.

It's the same pretty much everywhere with rent controls. A story from Berlin:

Personally, I have come think of the death penalty as one of the more morally good policies we can introduce to the UK. Native europeans generally respect law enforcement to a decent extent - they actually like to see the "local bobbys" and crime rates are generally low (at the least in western europe).
The third world, however, absolutely does not work this way. Third world police are there to intimidate, grift, embezzle, and generally be scandalous. They arrive in an little Indian village and it is immediately a bad omen, as if a demon has breached the perimeter of the area. They are there to press the boot on the neck of the populace, as it is the only law enforcement the people understand and respect (by fear).
As the UK mixes with the third world, UK police are evidently increasingly unable to enforce UK laws and maintain public order. Their strategy - designed for a native english first world populace - falls direly short. They are afraid, ethnic gangs terrorize their families, and the meager salary hopelessly insufficient to justify the risk of getting shanked up by a deranged immigrant.
As LKY immediately understood when he took power amongst horrendous widespread ethnic conflict and lawlessness in Singapore; to those who only respect the boot, you must press it down hard on their neck until they submit and follow the law. That means the pain of death for many crimes, as Singapore still has to this day.
Sadly, I don't think the shirefolk of the UK are ethnically capable of such necessary brutality.
This is, I guess, where the Great Man Theory could be the UK's only remaining savior.

Correct.
Using Starlink, a civilian commercial service, for offensive drone strikes to kill people has never been allowed, nor should it be.
Starshield, a different system, is controlled by the US government. What they decide to do is up to them.
Ukraine military violated Starlink terms of service and used it for offensive drone strikes to kill people. That loophole was closed last week.
Starlink remains critical to the defense of Ukraine, as it is the only system that cannot be jammed or blown up, at least for now. Were Starlink to be turned off, the Ukrainian front line would collapse immediately. This is NOT a threat, it is simply a statement of fact.
Starlink was also crucial to preventing Russia from overrunning Ukraine in the early days of the war, as all other means of communication were destroyed or jammed by Russia.
SpaceX has done more to defend Ukraine than any private company on Earth BY FAR.
That said, I have nothing but UTTER CONTEMPT for the virtue-signaling evil warmongers who push for endless slaughter and offer no realistic solution to the conflict. May you burn in hell.
End of story.

This is the fundamental issue of the UK.
Bath is hardly much better than Leeds.
The issue is that far too many jobs outside of London are healthcare (government), utilities (~government), government admin, education (government), and wholesale/retail (subsidized UK's most in the entire world, so also basically government).
It is all government!
The UK's fiscal nightmares will only improve if it gets cheaper energy, which unlocks reindustrialization of the UK outside of London, which then will gradually move people into fiscally neutral and fiscally positive jobs, and therefore off of the government's teet.
This will then unshackle the UK government budget to embark on things we actually want it to do for us, like improve water supplies, build bridges, improve roads, complete HS2, provide not-shit healthcare, and so on. These things will *never ever* happen whilst the UK government subsidizes a huge proportion of the populace to subsist in Lidl, United Utilities, and Toby Carvery.

The reaction to this is depressing. A lot of financial incompetence on show.
London is the only meaningfully fiscally positive area in the entire UK (pays more in taxes than it consumes in government spend). That extra tax that London pays that it doesn't consume gets fanned out to the rest of the UK which is either fiscally neutral (the south) or deeply fiscally negative (the north). The reason why London is the only fiscally positive place in the UK is because it exports a good/service that world buyers seem to really like paying a lot of money for (financial services).
Economists share complete consensus on why the north is fiscally negative: Because the mass deindustrialization in the 1980s dispossessed the area of fiscally positive jobs. This was a traumatic event in the 80s, as many current-day boomers will attest. One day, your boss would just announce that factories in the area were closing down, and nothing would ever take its place again. 10 years later, the industrial areas would quietly be flattened into newbuilds and Big Yellow Storage units.
Working-age people were forced into government jobs, which is why in places like Leeds, 25% of all jobs are government ones.
They were also forced into wholesale/retail jobs, which is why in places like Leeds, 13% of all jobs are these. Compare this to London, where only 7% of all jobs are wholesale/retail.
These jobs are anti-growth. Every additional Lidl job is yet more burden to the London tax payer.
The solution to this, as all economists also agree on, is investment and reindustrialization to create more fiscally neutral and fiscally positive jobs. The UK north needs more jobs that produce goods and services that are attractive to world buyers. Before the 80s, this used to be clothes, boots, cars, and everything else in between. Now, it probably is a different set of goods and services (maybe AI, electronics, etc.).
The issue is that the UK government, in making energy prohibitively expensive, has forbade this strategy. This is why I am so bearish on the UK north. It is a checkmated area.
So many of these basic facts are missing in this discourse to be honest; it's sad to see "BUT THE JOBS!" screeds with no care for the nuance.

Quite simply the most reality detatched monologue I have seen in a while; and I'm forced to hear what Angela Rayner says from time to time.
These studios fail because their games got worse, because they made bad hires who made worse games. They made games that were unrelatable, anachronistic, cringe, and full of HR therapy plots. Nobody wants to buy these products. No MAGA enters that equation.
It is rather scary how radicalized some people are against particular boogiemen. Were they bullied?

If there's one thing the closure of @bioware has taught me, it's that the majority of racists are straight, white males from low income brackets with low educations who are pissed off because they couldn't win a race that was literally rigged in their favor from being born And if they don't have somebody to blame, eventually they'd have to admit that the person responsible for most of their problems stares back at them in the mirror every morning. But they'll spend more time obsessing over immigrants, blacks, gays, and DEI "agendas" than they ever have trying to improve their own lives.
An immigrant didn't blow your paycheck at the bar. A gay couple didn't get your truck repoed. A trans kid didn't make you drop out of high school, lose your job, and get divorced. A black family didn't keep you from learning a trade, showing up to work, or acting like a decent human being. YOU did that. All by yourself.
So when you're standing there screaming that everybody else is getting special treatment, maybe ask yourself why you're getting lapped by people who had to climb over fences that you never even saw.
Racism isn't strength. It's what insecure people wrap themselves in when they don't have accomplishments to brag about. Homophobia isn't toughness. It's fear wearing work boots. And all that DEI whining is just you saying "I'm too scared to compete" when everyone else finally gets their fair shot.
The hard truth is that if your identity depends upon somebody else staying beneath you, you never stood very tall in the first place. Quit blaming minorities for your misery. Quit blaming LGBTQ+ folks because your life's a train wreck. Quit looking for scapegoats and just grab a mirror. Because that reflection has cost you more opportunities than every immigrant, every pride parade, every DEI program, and every person of color combined.

Stochastic terrorism - best known amongst personal security workers - is an increasingly horrific problem of our highly connected and globalized world.
It is essentially the most common way to attack your opponents since 1990.

Fundamentally there are precisely four responses to this that I have seen:
1. Leftist - This represents representation and multiculturalism. Woo!
2. Centrist - This represents poor gun safety, poor media literacy, etc.
3. Right - This represents Islamism, its spread through UK society, and DEI. Women should not be on the front-line. Etc.
4. Far-right - Fuck brown women in the police and the UK
This pathetic sniveling Commissioner is at 1.
I think that if I was to place myself on this spectrum of people, I would be a 3.
Most discourse I have seen on X is 1, 2, and a tiny bit of 4.
I think that the UK needs more people to be 3.

I also think that the fact that most of X's response to this is concentrated at the extremes at 1 and 4 is good indicator for the pathological nature of UK politics. It has become incredibly polarized. You are either a far-left islamo-communist and/or an idiot, or you are a far-right restore twink or tommy robo thug and/or an idiot.
There is much less reasonable discourse around 2-3, which is really pathological.

Every day I am reminded of how abhorrent it was for the western governments to brainwash their entire youth with the post-WW2 cultural regime.
Western societies worked a very different way before the begrieved Nuremberg lawyers redesigned western order (EU, UN, NATO, post-race, ost-inequality, post-nastiness, post-bullying, post-hurt, kumbaya blank slatism).
For example, as recently as the 1920s, Greece and most of Europe considered Islam and the Turkish ethnicity completely incompatible with Christianity and the Greek ethnicity, and because of this, deported hundreds of thousands of Turks.
If you tell people about things like this who are still subscribers of the post-WW2 cultural regime, they literally don't believe it, as if it was a hollywood horror slasher movie.
They don't teach history like this to European and American children because it betrays the new cultural regime; it is how the world used to work before 1945, and this is Not Correct.
So, instead, children are dogmatically brainwashed with propaganda about how the 1945 regime was an entirely virtuous response to the horrors of the two world wars, with no down side whatsoever and today we live in a Good World, a Correct World, rid of the blights of pre-1945 society. Better to simply not teach children it existed whatsoever beyond Henry the 8th, war rationing, and the Holocaust.
Do you remember as a child getting taught anything positive about pre-1945 society? Remember getting taught anything negative about the cultural revolutions that occurred post-1945?
Yeah, I know right? Quite odd isn't it?

Zero people know that Greeks deported hundreds of thousands of Turks in the 1920s because they wanted a more ethnically homogenous country and to expel Islam.
UK children are not taught this because it is a real nasty contradiction of the post-WW2 cultural regime.

The UK population measured by calorie intake, vehicle regs, cell phone regs, or anything else, is approximately 100 million people.
Our infrastructure has not expanded since the UK Census recorded 60 million people here, several decades ago.
Do the math.

It's this sort of thing that makes me sympathetic to people who want to WFH. I think we can deliver all the stern lectures we want about this - I def believe most work is best done in the office - but the reality of commuting 👇 and the crippling cost .... strewth.

You'll soon realize after a few rounds of this game that, really, it is actually the defeated, dejected, dispirited, gloomy, hopeless zeitgeist that dominates most of the UK since 2008.

The cause of this phenomenon is UK universities.
The UK's museum and heritage sector is largely made up of humanities degree graduates who were not good enough to become academics or otherwise enter into research.
It is the big drag net of failed graduates.
Because UK universities are breeding grounds of left wing politics, the museum and heritage sector becomes overwhelmingly left wing. This means less Lord Nelson, and more Black History Month.
The sector has essentially been imploded. It's just the same as BioWare et al.

So, as I was saying just the other day, Kelvingrove is a shadow of its former self and Britain’s entire museum and heritage sector has been hijacked by activist class types who are seemingly on a mission to make visiting museums such a miserable experience that we stop doing it. Much easier to manipulate history if people can’t remember it.
