Pessimism can kill you. But that's not the full story.

Finland followed 2,267 adults for 11 years. The most pessimistic had 2.2 times the risk of dying from coronary heart disease as the least pessimistic.

But optimism did nothing. No protective effect at all.

Which means that ositivity.

It is dropping the expectation that everything will go wrong.

@MeTheAngryCat @TannerBuilds I actually think it looks more like the original. It's probably a little lighter but the lighting makes a difference for sure.

To the point where I was pretty sure it's literally the same blue (super common color there).

These numbers should embarrass the whole medical establishment.

Microsoft built a panel of AI agents that argue about your case, order tests one at a time, and settle on a diagnosis.

On 304 NEJM cases so hard they get presented at conferences, the panel hit 83%. Human cases: 80% vs 47%.

Half the testing cost. And it lifted weak models the most, which tells you the magic is in the process, not the model.

The future of medicine is AI.

"Vacation" is a funny word.

We have normalized it so completely that nobody stops to ask what it actually is.

A quota of trips per year, dosed out like a vitamin you are deficient in. For what? Why? Who decided that going somewhere is a requirement of life?

And to be clear, Time off is not the issue. I am talking about the vacation itself. The production.

I have posted this before - so it was actually possible you have seen it.

At our Sam's - the produce is on par and usually better than what we could get at Costco (which was largely disappointing, surprisingly) - and Sam's has a better selection of grass fed meats and organic chicken. (Costco essentially-grass fed meat is the same quality as Costco as well.

Plus Sam's has a much larger overall selection, scan and go so no lines, etc.

Costco quality and pricing is a bit of a myth.

Way too much counterfeit supplements on Amazon. But you like the pricing...

What I prefer about Fullscript is the direct to brand sourcing model - so you know what you are getting.

This is the classic Mediterranean diet.

I am a fan of Mediterranean style of eating, but a more modern version without the excessive carbs.

This pyramid here would be a disaster for most people in terms of compliance.

24 minutes for strength and cardio this morning.

That's it.

Minimum *effective* dose is not high and it's easy to achieve with the right protocol.

Get it done and then stay active with functional movement/non exercise activity the rest of the day.

That's all it takes.

Amazon is quietly disrupting the grocery space again - with no tipping!

The latest move is replacing the standalone "Fresh" with "Grocery" - which routes through Prime for fast, same day and entirely free delivery. Not even a tipping option.

Cheaper prices than your grocery and delivered in a matter of hours to your front door entirely free.

The grocery delivery space heating up more and more, and Amazon is playing to win.

I almost never shop in store anymore. Why would I?

Here is the advanced move:

Do good things without your name on them. Help a coworker and tell no one. Give without the announcement post. The moment you need credit, you have turned generosity back into self promotion.

The people who understand this stop keeping score. They y, they are the happiest people in every room.

The self was never the project. It was the obstacle. And the door out was never inward. It was outward, toward other people, the whole time.

OpenEvidence partnered with Johns Hopkins to redesign medical school.

AI handles the knowledge, doctors keep the judgment.

Yeah, right.

That is what they said about the knowledge part years ago.

Knowledge was the doctor's moat, then it became free.

Judgment is next. Hey, care that we love so much, right?

Judgment is pattern recognition plus context, and context is more data.

The question is not whether doctors keep the judgment, it's how long until they don't.

Soon enough, human judgment will be malpractice.

194 year old tortoise.

Its mitochondrial gene switches stayed orderly for two centuries.

272 promoters kept clean, mostly around mitochondria and DNA repair.

We do not know the how, yet.

But the blueprint exists on paper today.

And AI is how we turn blueprints into biology.

This is obviously a bit of a gimmick in terms of actual aging and pace of aging.

But it is useful to see where you stack up against your age group.

This seems to be about as good as you can get on the Eight Sleep metrics.

There is nothing healthy about this type of entertainment.

It's toxic mind poison.

These sensory impressions are food for the consciousness.

What you feed your mind matters, a lot.

The goal is to replace your doctor.

You have to look at the bigger picture - how this all comes together and what companies like Google are building.

This study was run through the Google Health app - you know, Fitbit.

You have the fully integrated, AI focused app. A wearable with endless new metrics being added. Full medical records integration, too - and a "navigator" that interpets your lab reports...

And now with all this data, do your diagnostics with an AI - you know, to just kind of help the doctor out... That's all.

But...

Google is running another study asking about your plan for care, symptoms, and gathering the data your doctor said to train accordingly. Wait, they want to confirm what the doctor said the symptoms meant?

If you can't see that we are headed towards replacing your doctor - then that's on you guys.
Our clinical trial of AMIE, a patient-facing AI system, was just published in The Lancet.

I want to explain what *I* think this study ACTUALLY means.

It's about a fundamental question: how do we know that clinical AI works?

When it booked my employees hotel, on its own it flagged that the employee will have to use his card at checkin and that we should let him know we'll reimburse. And hey, today itinder now that his trip ends tomorrow...

All proactive.
