Ternus had this one chance to be honest that Siri needs to improve (being generous there)
John Ternus answers investor question on where Apple is at with consumer AI agent capabilities:

“With Siri AI, we really have the kind of the Siri that we always wanted. It's primarily request based today, but as we talked about at WWDC, it's built on a modern orchestrated-driven architecture that gives us real room to expand its capabilities over time. As far as agentic capabilities, you know, we think these are promising tools for users. We just want to make sure that users are aware of what they're giving access to. We want to make sure this is done in a way that protects security and privacy. So, you know, we're pushing really hard on that with Siri AI, but we're also really encouraged the fact that Apple devices, we think, are the best places to use all forms of AI.”

like the distinction between pure slop and something in between that's often worse
What I dislike more than AI Slop is what I call "AI Foam".

It's when generally smart, insightful people send you something that is clearly AI generated and lacks their usual sharp insight or point of view.

AI slop is easy to ignore because it's often just random people posting random stuff online -- often as content or comments.

AI foam is more insidious because these are people you *know* and respect and you know they're capable of critical thinking and clear communication.

I call it AI Foam because it lacks shape and substance.

I can’t believe we’re two months away from 2027 and the easiest way to save something as a PDF is still to lie to your computer and tell it you’re about to print it.

This would be the most fascinating prompt dataset imaginable
The ranking members of the House Judiciary and Oversight Committees have written a letter to President Trump asking whether he has been soliciting advice from Grok in order to help carry out his official duties as President of the United States.

They also demanded that he nt to Grok, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity, as well as outputs in response to those prompts, that were 'submitted to AI chatbots in carrying out your constitutional, statutory, or other official or ceremonial duties.'

The letter was provided by Politico.

Trump amends constitution to allow for third term and imagine the greatest irony
Sneaky big winner of the 2026 midterms could be Obama.

Won a whole news cycle with a joke. Made Republicans look like fools acting like Cheesecake Factory foyers are as sacred as an American flag. Ossoff is crushing with a Millennial Obama act, El Sayed has mended bridges, and here’s Talarico updating the 2004 DNC speech vibes for 2026.

Hackers leaked data on 41,000+ DHS employees and contractors, including ICE and CBP agents. DDoSecrets says it came from DHS’s Okta login; Okta says it has no evidence of a breach. The records even name permission groups for certified undercover operations.

just say no to walls of text
Ruthlessly manage your context. Don't let agents flood you with garbage. Force them to hand you human-sized things to think about.

Anthropic could resolve this (I’m guessing any compute related discounting in the single billions certainly not the $108bn - Amazon has $6bn in notes and probably about of it burned well before that magical q2) but still they could just clarify the compute discounting received to give a clearer picture of the business
@trmcdonald Look at that growth in convertible notes payable...

have been curious about this for a while - if the $80bn loss is "just accounting treatment" or whether those convertible notes actually meant free or heavily discounted compute meaning totally throws off opex reporting

before was just kind of fun speculation around how much $ are they actually getting but two years after these started bubbling up now could totally transform opex calculations
