Bengaluru Parcel Blast Cracked: Three Assam Men Held; Family Feud Behind Attack, Accused Electrician Built IED Using Internet Resources

Bengaluru

#BengaluruPolice have arrested three men from #Assam in connection with an improvised explosive device (#IED) explosion at an e on Jemaiah Road in Pulakeshinagar (Frazer Town) that left two construction workers seriously injured, officials said on Sunday.

The explosion occurred on the afternoon of October 20 on the fifth floor of the building while painting and construction work was underway. The injured workers, identified as Allawuddin M. from Assam and Suraj Kumar from #UttarPradesh, were hospitalised with severe injuries following the blast.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Bhurhan Ahmad Burbhuiyya (20), a welder and electrician based in Maski, #Raichur district; Jahidull Hussain Burbhuiyya (27), a salesman at a bakery in #Jayanagar; and Sajidull Laskar (22), a kitchen worker at a coffee shop in #Malleswaram. All three hail from Dinanathpur village in Assam's #Hailakandi district and had been working in #Karnataka for some time.

According to police, the plot stemmed from personal animosity. The accused allegedly harboured a long-standing grudge against the primary target, Allawuddin, who is a relative. The conflict involved disputes over ancestral land, financial matters, and the cancellation of a family marriage in their native village.

#Bengaluru Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh, IPS, said the prime accused, Bhurhan, procured raw materials, including metal pellets, batteries and firecrackers from which gunpowder was extracted, while working in Maski."The accused learned how to assemble an IED through online sources," Commissioner Singh said. "He created an electrical circuit fitted with a switch mechanism. The victim was repeatedly instructed over phone calls to open the arcel. When the package was opened and the switch was engaged, the device detonated."

Police said the parcel containing the concealed explosive device was left at a local shop for Allawuddin to collect. When the package arrived at the work site,Allawuddin asked co-worker Suraj to open it, triggering the blast.

Following the incident, the East Division Police formed 10 special teams. Over 72 hours, officers analysed footage from more than 1,500 CCTV cameras, questioned over 100 individuals and tracked digital communications across encrypted messaging platforms allegedly used by the suspects.

Probe into Sting Operations an Eyewash to Shield Accused, Says HD Kumaraswamy

Bengaluru

Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy alleged that the state government's investigation into the alleged sting operation controversy was being deliberately weakened and would not reach a logical a press conference, #HDKumaraswamy questioned the manner in which the probe was being conducted and alleged that a key accused was allowed to secure anticipatory bail without any objection from the government side. He claimed that the arrest was only for "show" and alleged that the authorities had cooperated in facilitating bail despite public admissions made by the individual concerned.

Referring to former Chief Minister #Siddaramaiah's reported remarks that the truth would emerge with time, Kumaraswamy said the Chief Minister had chosen silence and accused him of strategically managing the situation. He alleged that the government was "moving chess pieces" rather than ensuring a fair and transparent investigation.

The Union Minister further expressed doubts about the outcome of the probe, stating that the government was unlikely to take the investigation to its logical end. He alleged that the intention was to create an impression of an investigation, shift responsibility elsewhere and eventually close the matter.

H. D. Kumaraswamy also targeted the Chief Minister #DKShivakumar and Home Minister #PriyankKharge, alleging that they had already planned how to handle the issue politically. According to him, the ongoing investigation did not inspire confidence that the government intended to take stringent action to deter similar incidents in the future.

Citing media reports, Kumaraswamy claimed that information related to as many as 170 to 180 alleged sting operations had surfaced. He questioned investigators over the material collected so far and asked whether all those linked to the recordings had been questioned and their devices seized.

He also criticised the authorities for allegedly conducting searches against JD(S) social media workers while questioning what evidence and equipment had been seized from those directly linked to the alleged sting operation case.

The sting operation controversy has triggered a political war of words between the ruling #Congress government and the #JDS, with demands for a thorough and impartial investigation continuing from various quarters.

The breakthrough came after police received credible intelligence about a plot to physically assault a businessman in Padubidri. Acting swiftly, officers arrested Suresh Ameen (38), a resident of Bada village in Yermal.

Senior Government Veterinarian Assaulted, Official Vehicle Blocked During Tumakuru Leopard Rescue Operation

Tumakuru, Karnataka

A #wildlife rescue operation turned violent on Thursday morning after an agitated mob allegedly assaulted a senior government veterinary officer, nts from carrying out their duties, and blocked an official vehicle at Thimmasandra village in Hebbur Hobli of #Tumakuru.

The Hebbur police have booked 10 to 15 unidentified villagers under multiple provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) following a formal complaint lodged by Dr. Prayag H. S., Assistant Director of Veterinary Medical Services at Bannerghatta Biological Park.

According to the First Information Report (FIR), Dr. Prayag had been deputed by the Principal Chief Conservator of #Forests (Wildlife) to supervise the health and handling of three elephants participating in the Tumakuru Dasara festival. On the morning of October 22, local Range Forest Officer (RFO) Basavaraju alerted him that a #leopard had strayed into a private coconut grove belonging to a farmer named Ashwath in Thimmasandra village, requesting his urgent presence on-site for potential chemical immobilization.

Dr. Prayag, along with forest department officials, including Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF) Pavithra V., field personnel, and volunteers from the Wildlife Aware Rescue NGO,rushed to the location to coordinate the operation. As per established standard operating procedures (SOPs), officials initiated inter-departmental coordination to bring in additional police personnel to control a gathering crowd of over 50 local residents.

The situation escalated rapidly around 8:47 AM when a subgroup of 10 to 15 individuals allegedly instigated the crowd, demanding an immediate capture. Despite repeated warnings from ACF Pavithra, Koratagere Chief Veterinary Officer Dr. Shreedhar Reddy, and local police about the grave safety risk of provoking a cornered wild animal, the mob turned aggressive, issuing verbal threats and shouting, "Catch the leopard right now, or else we will strip your clothes off!"

Amid the chaos and loud shouting, the trapped feline descended the coconut tree and escaped into the surrounding landscape. Enraged by the escape, members of the mob surrounded Dr. Prayag, pushed him, and assaulted him by striking his back with their hands while hurling verbal abuse. When the veterinarian attempted to depart for medical attention in an official departmental vehicle, the mob unlawfully barricaded the pathway and prevented the vehicle from leaving the scene.

Following the incident, Dr. Prayag submitted a complaint at the Hebbur police station. Police registered case under Sections 126(2),115(2),221, 132,352,189(2) and 190 of the BNS.

Three Injured in Suspected Gas Cylinder Leak Fire in RR Nagar, Bengaluru

Bengaluru

Three people, including a nine-year-old child, sustained burn injuries following a suspected commercial cylinder leak and flash fire at a godown in RR Nagar area of #Bengaluru on Saturday have been identified as Bablu, a native of #Bihar, his neighbour Lakshmamma and a minor boy. All three were shifted to a nearby private hospital by the police and are currently undergoing treatment.

According to locals ,Bablu, who has been residing in Bengaluru for the past two decades, operates a pani puri business. While he lives elsewhere in the city, he used the RR Nagar premises as a storage facility and preparation unit for his vending carts.

Preliminary investigations suggest that an LPG cylinder leaked overnight, causing gas to accumulate inside the shuttered space and triggering an internal smoulder. When Bablu arrived in the morning and opened the front door, a fire erupted, sending flames bursting out onto the street. The impact of the blast and the fireball injured Bablu, along with Lakshmamma and the child, both of whom were standing nearby outside.

Fire and rescue personnel along with local police quickly rushed to the spot, secured the area, and brought the situation under control. A spot inspection has been conducted, and further investigation is underway.

'Sting Operation Case Totally Concocted, Truth Must Come Out': Siddaramaiah

Mysuru, Karnataka

Senior #Congress leader and former Karnataka Chief Minister #Siddaramaiah has dismissed the alleged #StingOperation controversy as a "false and concocted case" aimed at blackmailing e, asserting that he himself lodged a complaint to ensure the truth comes out.

Speaking to reporters in #Mysuru, Siddaramaiah said the alleged sting was a fabricated attempt to malign him and that he had taken legal as well as police action to expose those behind it."This is a false case, a manufactured case intended for blackmail. That is why I myself filed the complaint. I am the complainant. The people should know the truth and those behind this conspiracy must be identified," he said. The former Chief Minister said he had also approached a civil court and secured an injunction to prevent what he termed unnecessary publicity surrounding the matter.

Maintaining that the allegations were completely baseless, Siddaramaiah pointed out that no such controversy had arisen during his long political career, including his tenure as Chief Minister."I was Chief Minister for eight years and nothing like this ever happened. From the time I became a minister in 1984 until today, no such incident has occurred. This has been created now, and their objective will not succeed," he said.

Responding to questions about alleged blackmail attempts, Siddaramaiah denied that he had ever been subjected to such pressure, either now or in the past.
Referring to those allegedly linked to the sting operation, he named Krup Alva of #Mangaluru and #PowerTV's Rakesh Shetty, claiming that the latter had admitted to conducting the sting. "There is no truth in it whatsoever," he said.

On political reactions to the controversy, including statements of support from leaders such as Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, Siddaramaiah said he did not require anyone to stand by him."There is no need for anyone to support me. What is important is that the people of the state know the truth and understand that this is a false case," he said.

Asked whether the alleged episode was part of a conspiracy to damage his reputation, Siddaramaiah said people would not believe such claims."There has to be a black mark first. No matter how much they try, people will not believe it," he remarked.

Expressing confidence in the investigation, Siddaramaiah said the probe must be conducted impartially. While rejecting the need for a Special Investigation Team (SIT), he insisted that the existing investigation should be carried out fairly."I have faith in the inquiry. My only demand is that the investigation be fair and that the truth should come out," he said.
On whether leaders from within the Congress party could be involved, Siddaramaiah said the investigation would reveal who was behind the alleged conspiracy."Whether it is someone from our party or another party, that must be uncovered through the investigation," he said.

Siddaramaiah said the matter first came to his notice on September 26 and reiterated that he was not disturbed by the allegations because, according to him, the incident never occurred."This never happened. It is totally concocted and completely false," he said.

High Drama at Bengaluru's Town Hall as 'Tiranga Rally' Hits Placard Hurdle; Police Allow March After Placards Dropped

Bengaluru

A planned '#TirangaRally' organized by the Anti-SIR Federation witnessed intense drama and confusion outside Town Hall in Bengaluru on Friday intervened over demonstrators displaying protest placards and shouting political slogans during what was permitted strictly as a Tiranga march.

The rally, backed by farmer unions, Dalit outfits and Left organisations, was scheduled to move from Town Hall to Freedom Park, where a demonstration had been planned to demand the rollback of #SIR and the resignation of #GyaneshKumar.
However, as participants began assembling outside Town Hall holding the tricolor, several people also raised posters and placards targeting the central government, the SIR initiative and Gyanesh Kumar, while others carried signs demanding the right to protest anywhere across #Bengaluru city.

Police personnel stationed on-site intervened immediately, informing participants that carrying protest placards violated the terms of the permission granted for the procession. Despite appeals from both police officers and the organizers themselves, who urged the gathering to adhere strictly to the sanctioned #TirangaMarch, several participants refused to put down their boards and continued sloganeering.

The standoff escalated until DCP (Central) Akshay M arrived at the spot to defuse the situation. Addressing the demonstrators, the DCP reiterated that under Karnataka High Court directives, demonstrations and public protests in Bengaluru are restricted exclusively to Freedom Park. He clarified that permission had been granted strictly for a Tiranga march, warning that no one carrying protest material or placards would be permitted to join the procession.
Following the intervention, organizers began taking placards away from the crowd. When a few marchers still attempted to proceed with their posters, police stepped in and seized the materials directly.

After nearly 40 minutes of tense negotiation and commotion, the procession finally got underway, proceeding along the designated route from Town Hall to Freedom Park under close police supervision.Upon reaching Freedom Park, the demonstrators launched their protest, pressing their core demands for the withdrawal of the SIR and the resignation of Gyanesh Kumar.

No One Needs to Lecture Me on Nationalism; Goal Is Governance, Not Social Media Clout: K. Annamalai in Krishnagiri

Krishnagiri, Tamilnadu

Delivering a hard-hitting speech at a public event organized under the aegis of the '#WeTheLeaders' initiative, former IPS officer and namalai declared that no individual or party needs to lecture him on patriotism or nationalism. Highlighting his extensive service across the country, he asserted that genuine political power lies in policy decisions and governance rather than superficial social media metrics.

Addressing a diverse crowd in #Krishnagiri, Annamalai defended his nationalist credentials by reflecting on his background."Show me a nationalist greater than me today. I was born in Tamil Nadu, studied in Lucknow, trained as an IPS officer for two years in #AndhraPradesh and one year in #Delhi, and served nine years in #Karnataka. Show me someone born in #TamilNadu who has traveled and worked across so many states," he remarked, emphasizing that having served across India, he deeply understands the nation's unity and sovereignty.

Hailing Krishnagiri as a miniature representation of India where people of diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds co-exist harmoniously, he commended the residents as role models for Tamil Nadu.

Rejecting narrow regional divides, Annamalai advocated for a cohesive federal framework where every state develops concurrently. He called for seamless economic and infrastructural ties between Tamil Nadu and neighboring Karnataka.
"#Gujarat should grow, Tamil Nadu should grow, Delhi should grow, and Haryana should grow. Why put barricades at borders and turn people away? More people from Tamil Nadu must go to #Bengaluru, and more from Karnataka must come to Hosur. That mutual synergy is how both regions flourish," he said, endorsing enhanced cross-border connectivity, including proposed metro train links between Hosur and Bengaluru.

Outlining the mission of 'We The Leaders', Annamalai urged followers to focus on acquiring executive leadership rather than chasing ephemeral online popularity."We are not here to collect applause from 20 or 50 lakh people, nor are we here to gather 'likes' on social media. We exist to capture administrative power. No matter how many speeches are made from stages, the stroke of a single pen can alter the fate of millions," he asserted, adding that his movement aims to groom over 800,000 grassroots leaders capable of holding constitutional and elected offices, from panchayat presidents and mayors to legislators and ministers.

Directing his attention to students and young activists, Annamalai encouraged them to fight for just causes through democratic and constructive avenues, citing historical farmer agitations and public demonstrations at New Delhi’s #JantarMantar. However, he cautioned against rash disillusionment with political institutions, urging youths to carefully evaluate claims of overnight political reform.

Annamalai urged the government to act decisively if there is foreign interference rather than just posting on social media, demanding that authorities use agencies like the IB, RAW, and police to immediately arrest anyone accepting foreign funds to disrupt peace in India.

In a First for India, Karnataka Cyber Command Busts Illegal eSIM Box Syndicate; 4 Held After 55-Day Hunt

Bengaluru

In a landmark operation marking the first such case cracked anywhere in the country, the #Karnataka State Police #CyberCommand Unit has busted an illegal embedded operating clandestinely out of two residential apartments in the Whitefield tech corridor, officials confirmed on Thursday.

The breakthrough came after an arduous, nearly 55-day technical pursuit. Unlike conventional physical SIM cards that leave direct point-of-sale footprints and visible hardware trails, tracking virtual eSIM profiles across encrypted networks presented severe investigative challenges. Investigators had to pierce through layered digital provisioning pipelines before finally closing in on the syndicate's infrastructure and supply chain.
Four key operatives linked to the illicit procurement and conversion of eSIMs have been arrested from Tiroda in #Maharashtra’s Gondia district.

The 55-Day Investigation and Bust
The probe began after the Chief Circle Nodal Officer of Bharti #Airtel Limited, #Bengaluru, lodged a complaint on August 26, 2026, flagging suspicious, unauthorized routing over Airtel connections in the Whitefield and Kadugodi pockets. The #Whitefield #CyberCrime Police Station (CCPS) registered and set the technical hunt in motion.

Because the syndicate deployed virtual eSIM profiles rather than traditional physical SIM cards, pinpointing the hardware locations and device identities required extensive cyber forensics and telemetry analysis in close coordination with the Department of Telecommunications (#DoT), Karnataka.

Following nearly two months of sustained tracking, joint teams raided two high-density operational hubs functioning in separate apartments within the Whitefield division:

1. Kadugodi Facility: Six SIM Box (GSM gateway) units housing 32 slots each, totaling 192 slots active with provisioned eSIM connections across multiple telecom service providers.

2. Pattandur Agrahara Facility: Four SIM Box units with 32 slots each, accounting for 128 active slots.

Operating in tandem, the dual facilities wielded a combined capacity of 320 live lines running through a single coordinated network. The setup functioned as an illicit domestic exchange, masking international originations and routing unauthorized traffic to bypass telecom firewalls and lawful interception systems.

Tracing the digital breadcrumbs behind the virtual profiles led cyber investigators to Tiroda in Maharashtra’s Gondia district, where operatives were procuring SIM credentials and converting them into activated eSIM profiles to feed the Bengaluru gateways remotely.Four accused persons, all residents of #Tiroda, were tracked down and arrested; however, police have withheld their identities citing the ongoing investigation.

According to police, the country-first eSIM box setup served as the core telecommunications backbone for widespread cyber intimidation schemes nationwide, including infamous "#DigitalArrest" scams, sextortion rackets and high-value financial fraud.

"Preliminary leads suggest the possibility of substantial financial exposure, potentially running into hundreds of crores of rupees across the wider network," said Dr. Pronab Mohanty, IPS, Director General of Police, Cyber Command. "The actual number of victims, financial losses, and the full extent of the network remain subject to verification through continuing investigation and inter-agency coordination."

Forensic analysis of the seized gateway hardware and cloud logs is underway to map out every call routed through the hub and uncover the masterminds directing the syndicate.

The couple migrated to Bengaluru six months ago and resided in Gopalapura under the Magadi Road police limits. Both were employed in local garment factories.

Police revealed that domestic discord was frequent between the two. Irfaz harbored intense suspicions regarding his wife's fidelity, triggered by her constant phone usage, which regularly led to bitter arguments.

The conflict escalated on the night of October 10 following a heated altercation. Irfaz allegedly bludgeoned Ruksana to death by crushing her head with a heavy stone and gagged her with a dupatta. To dispose of the body, Irfaz reportedly broke the handlebar lock of a parked motorcycle belonging to an unfamiliar resident. He then placed his wife’s body inside a sack, balanced it onto the vehicle, and pushed the two-wheeler under the cover of darkness toward a nearby stormwater drain, where he dumped the corpse.

The decomposed body was retrieved by the police on October 13. With no immediate missing person reports matching her profile and no identification on the body, investigators initially hit a dead end. Magadi Road police formed more than 10 special teams to launch an extensive door-to-door verification drive across neighboring localities.

The breakthrough came when residents in Gopalapura informed officers that a neighbor's wife had been mysteriously missing for several days. Acting on the lead, police summoned Irfaz for questioning.
Initially, Irfaz attempted to mislead investigators by claiming that his wife had returned to their hometown in Bihar and was unreachable because she did not carry a mobile phone. However, upon being taken into custody and subjected to detailed sustained interrogation, he broke down and confessed to the crime.

Police have registered a case of murder and destruction of evidence, and further legal proceedings are underway.

'Why Must You Bring Up Caste?': DyCM Parameshwara Slams Tagging Ministers by Caste Identity

Bengaluru

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara has strongly objected to the media categorizing elected representatives by their caste, asserting that ministers must be stitutional post rather than their social background.

The senior leader’s sharp reaction came when reporters questioned him regarding an incident at the #MysuruDasara celebrations, where certain ministers from the #Dalit community were reportedly stopped by the police at an entry checkpoint.
When a journalist pressed on the issue, specifically referring to the leaders as "Dalit ministers," Dr. Parameshwara intervened, questioning the repeated emphasis on caste labels in public discourse.
"Look, why must you bring up 'Dalit' at every turn? Just addressing them as 'ministers' is enough," Dr. Parameshwara said.

When the reporter attempted to reiterate the phrase "Dalit ministers," the Deputy Chief Minister expressed firm disapproval over the phrasing.
"Dalit ministers... why, why that label? Does anyone ever refer to the others by their caste? All of that... it is not correct," he remarked, pointing out the double standard in political and media commentary.

Reflecting on broader social dynamics, Dr. Parameshwara acknowledged that deep-seated social stratification continues to persist, but cautioned against exploiting it for political or narrative leverage."Yes, unfortunately, a categorization has formed. In our society, various tiers still exist even today, layers. Using that very thing as a weapon doesn't seem right to me," he added.

In 2011, then Gujarat Chief Minister Thiru @narendramodi avl said that if his hands were not tied, he would have gone to Delhi and waged war against the central government. Thiru Narendra Modi avl made this statement in response to the police crackdown on the peaceful anti-corruption campaign led at Ramlila Maidan, Delhi. In my opinion, what the Hon PM said then was absolutely right, and there is nothing wrong about it.

Today, you could be jailed indefinitely; your surety bonds could be rejected; and, surprisingly, a Special Executive Magistrate will play circles around you when he/ she is empowered to deal with preventive bond cases.

If you question the violation of due process of law in a democracy, you would be called names, and a barrage of attacks would follow, including being labelled a Foreign Agent.

Ever since I asked the Central Government to speak with the protestors during the NEET exam protests, I have faced constant attacks, but I let them pass because I felt it was important to focus on the issues on the ground in Tamil Nadu. I also, in a way, enjoyed this as it would quickly remove the tag of me being a BJP B Team and sent to TN as a Dhurandhar 😍

Yesterday during a press meeting, I questioned the Delhi Police’s methods of detaining protestors of CJP.

Since yesterday, the attacks have resumed, as expected. For some in the BJP, let me make this categorically clear, in case you have selective amnesia: I left the BJP on June 5, 2026.

As I mentioned yesterday, I might not agree with the tactics of the CJP, and I think many of theirs are misguided. But if you ask me whether they have a right to oppose/argue/protest on an issue that they think is important?

I would categorically say - YES.

So, I would like people to ask the questions again, even if it makes some of them uncomfortable, and I wish the Central Government would answer them instead of resorting to whataboutism.

1.How was Jantar Mantar denotified as a protest site as per a standing order of the Ministry of Home Affairs after a letter was handed over by CJP seeking permission to conduct a protest?

2.How long can we have a system that gives powers to an Asst Commissioner of Police as a Special Executive Magistrate who rules over whether to keep someone in preventive detention? The ACP of Delhi Police stands over the trial where Delhi Police is the complainant against the accused CJP. Now you know which way the wind will blow.

3.On October 19th, why did the Special Executive Magistrate, aka ACP of Delhi Police, deliberately arrive late for the bail hearing of those who were arrested from Jantar Mantar on October 13th and recuse himself, saying there is a threat to his life? Is this some kind of a joke?

4.Why were 8 sureties rejected, and why was the person who came for surety subjected to cross-examination by the Special Executive Magistrate?

5. Any action taken on pellet gun usage by the Delhi police or other actions on Delhi police who have violated the standard operating procedures against the protesters during the NEET fiasco stir?

Has no BJP karyakarta in Delhi violated any bond conditions during the previous Congress and AAP governments. I trust the same Delhi police were then also when barricades were jumped and orders disobeyed? How were they dealt with then? Like this?

Definitely - NO.

Now I hear that the detained functionaries of CJP were released by SEM after the case reached the High Court.

I also recently saw a cockroach effigy burned as part of the Dusshera celebrations. Out of curiosity, I tried to find out who is giving this free publicity at a National level. No surprises here. It was led by a BJP MLA, Ashok Goel.

My question again is: is the BJP opposing the CJP or giving it free publicity? Does it want the opposition votes to split by making CJP a bigger player? At this rate, the CJP couldn’t have asked for a better PR team, even if it had paid for one! (1/2)
