Scores of trucks carrying new tents and caravans (mobile homes) have been waiting at Gaza's border for more than a year, but Israel has blocked them from entering despite a US-brokered and monitored ceasefire.
Israel’s deliberate and systematic cruelty to deprive displaced Palestinians of shelter and compound their suffering is part of an effort to drive Palestinians out of Gaza, and is continuing with full U.S. support.

🚨 HORRIFIC SCENES IN GAZA: Displaced families’ tents are completely submerged in floodwater. After Israel destroyed their homes, families are now left with nothing but flooded tents, with nowhere else to go.

⭕️The petition calling on Democrats to choose a different House Speaker than Hakeem Jeffries has now gained over 500K signatures.
“We believe the Speaker should represent the Democratic voters, not just the Democratic establishment,” it reads.
“The Speaker has enormous ction of the House, including its legislative priorities and agenda. Before casting their votes, representatives should closely examine Jeffries's public record, policy positions, campaign donor record and leadership...and listen to constituents who do not want him elevated to Speaker.”

Kenneth Mejia is the most SELFLESS politician in LA. He could have sat out this election and prepared to run for mayor in four years. Instead he put his all into getting Nithya elected — ending any hope of him running for mayor in 2030.
Nithya could NOT have won without Kenneth. He put a lot of faith in you when no one else did. Prove him right.

For those of us from Gaza, the debate on Israel’s military technology is not abstract. These are the systems and calculative techniques that have been weaponised against us for decades, and through which our homes, families and entire social worlds were systematically and deliberately destroyed in the genocide. Yet it was the testimony of Israeli soldiers that brought into wider public view what Palestinians have long lived and documented. Which is why I find the revelations in NAZA both welcome and tragically absurd.
Colonizers and enslavers have always developed and used technologies to calculate the evaluate the lives of the colonised. My review of NAZA and the inflation in Israeli Necro-Economics from the Al Aqsa intifada to the genocide. lrb.co.uk/the-paper/v48/…

Lana Nusseibeh (pictured here with Israel regime ambassador Gilad Erdan) who is being pushed by US-Israel aligned Gulf monarchies and several US and Western figures to become the next UN Secretary-General, is most known in diplomatic circles for running cover for the genocide in o normalize the Israeli apartheid regime as it perpetrates a genocide in Palestine. Fluent in Hebrew and with a master’s degree in Israel studies, she has been a key actor in pushing the treacherous “Abraham Accords” and Trump’s colonial “Board of Peace.” In the Epstein Files, she is seen helping Epstein (and Israel) collaborator Terje Larsen to get his son into NYU, and helping Epstein himself to visit the UAE. A truly terrible candidate.

⚡️ Mayor Zohran Mamdani's NYPD is poised to sign a three-year, $750,500 no-bid contract with Israeli surveillance firm Cognyte for FalcoNet, an AI-driven device that mimics a cell tower to track phones and can be mounted on police cars and drones or hidden in a backpack, the New d.
Cognyte won a tender to sell intercept spyware to Myanmar's state telecom weeks before the 2021 military coup, Reuters previously reported. Meta banned the firm the same year, saying its customers used fake accounts to target journalists and politicians in Kenya, Mexico and Indonesia.
The firm is part of an Israeli surveillance industry that grew big as a result of the military's monitoring of Palestinians, whose phone calls Israel's Unit 8200 has intercepted and stored by the millions, including to carry out genocide in Gaza and enforce a brutal illegal occupation in Jerusalem and the West Bank.

A nuclear state & army w advanced weapons tech has been kidnapping children, raping captives, demolishing homes, sniping journos, slaughtering livestock & torching fields for 8+ decades a US support & “allies” want to frame self defense as fueling a “cycle of violence.”
I’m grieving the deaths of the two Israeli soldiers killed in Hebron today, and praying for the full & speedy recovery of those who were injured.
I’ve spoken out loudly this week against Israel’s occupation of the West Bank, which imposes violence on a daily basis, and I will continue to do so. But violence is not the path to ending it — or to achieving safety, freedom, and peace for both Palestinians and Israelis.
And neither is collective punishment or ethnic cleansing of an entire neighborhood, or punishing millions of people for the criminal act of two, which Netanyahu has promised to enact in response.
I’ve seen a lot this week and I’ll have more to say about in the coming days (I’m on my way home shortly). There is a path to ending this excruciating cycle of violence. It starts by insisting that every life is sacred, that everyone is created in God’s image.
For now: Shabbat Shalom, to everyone who believes in the hard work of making peace & justice a reality, for everyone.

Brad, ur in Palestine. Pls exercise some humility. Listen more, lecture less. Framing the targeting of soldiers as a “cycle of violence” - rather than resistance 2 apartheid & genocide- while also not demanding US sanctions/arms embargo is asking Palestinians to die politely.

Not sure who's on "X" still... here's our article on the post-blast reconstruction of Beirut, published a few months ago now--with reflections on how aid & NGOs are producing a micro-urbanism in the city.
If interested, DM for copies as the paywall was too pricey to remove.

Aid-driven urban commoning has limits. Harb, Dayekh, Atallah & Zoughaib show how nonprofit and faith-based actors rebuilt post-blast Beirut, and why sectarian, class and market boundaries constrain their projects.

Nusseibeh was the UAE’s point person on Sudan, according to Justin Lynch, managing director of the Conflict Insights Group research organization. “Throughout this war, she assured other governments that the UAE was not backing the RSF, even as Washington and other capitals knew internally that it was,” he told the AP.
The U.N. secretary-general’s role is to protect civilians from horrors like el-Fasher, Lynch said. “Handing the job over to the diplomat who ran cover for it would be an insult to the survivors.”

Israel is issuing “official eviction orders” to citizens of another country, inside the sovereign borders of that country. Just in case you needed a reminder that the legal frameworks Zionists cite to justify their land theft from Palestine to Syria are all entirely bullshit.

🇦🇪 Days before the one-year anniversary of the Rapid Support Forces' massacres in El Fasher, the UAE, the RSF's main foreign backer in its genocide in Sudan, has nominated its top diplomat to run the United Nations.
Lana Nusseibeh, the UAE's minister of state and envoy to the UN, announced her candidacy for Secretary-General on Wednesday. For three years she has been a public face of Abu Dhabi's denials, even as UN experts themselves documented Emirati weapons and money flowing to the RSF while it carried out massacres and mass rape across Darfur.
Those who have worked on Sudan were scathing:
🔸 Cameron Hudson, a former CIA Africa analyst and White House National Security Council director for African affairs: "It isn't just that UAE has been supporting the RSF, it's that Lana has been the UAE's chief diplomat denying the fact and defending the regime."
🔸 Jeremy Konyndyk, president of Refugees International, said Nusseibeh "must not be SG if she cannot first admit and condemn the UAE's complicity." He said he interviewed survivors of RSF massacres and systematic sexual violence in Sudan last week, including the mother of a 12-year-old girl who was shot in front of her. "Most if not all of these horrific violations were directly enabled by the UAE's support," he said, adding that the UN has documented it for three years.
🔸 Mohanad Elbalal, co-founder of Khartoum Aid Kitchen, said she "used her position as UAE Ambassador to the UN to cover up and gaslight" on the UAE's role, calling her candidacy "a direct insult to Sudanese."
Her bid has been cheered by figures who backed three years of Israel's genocide in Gaza while staying silent or covering for the UAE's integral role in the genocide in Sudan. Brett McGurk, former President Joe Biden's Middle East coordinator, called her "an inspired choice for this impossible job." Nickolay Mladenov, the high representative for Gaza on U.S. President Donald Trump's Board of Peace, has also praised her.

I am standing to be Secretary-General because I believe this is a moment to act with greater urgency: to act earlier, bring people together across difference, and drive the work forward until it produces concrete results. That is how we rebuild trust in the United Nations and ingful change for the people it exists to serve.

Israel has long claimed that Hamas went around slaughtering children on October 7th. Yet even the Israeli records and the camera footage it released show this is not true. 16 children under 14 were killed on October 7. I went through every one of them, case by case. There is not d targeted and executed intentionally by Hamas. But that false narrative has been used to justify the slaughter over 20,000 Palestinian children in Gaza. Watch the full analysis.

This is all true. This former GOP state legislator closely aligned with DeSantis and Randy Fine -- Mike Caruso -- was arrested in August on charges of sexually abusing multiple young kids in his family, including his grandson and a niece.
He had previously advocated the death penalty for pedophiles. This picture is when Caruso, Randy Fine and DeSantis went to Israel in 2023 to sign a "hate speech" law that restricted the free speech rights of Floridians on behalf of Israel. They signed it in Israel.

The man standing next to Randy Fine and Ron DeSantis, in Israel, is Mike Caruso, currently on trial for forcing his penis into his 3 year old grandson’s mouth and peeing in it. Randy Fine’s political committee donated to him.

Mourning the loss of this incredible landmark. It only ever took you 5 minutes to get through security, the food options were abysmal and it had the general aura of an infrequently attended bus depot. I will miss it every day.
Today is the final day of service to the greatest airport terminal there ever was. Good night, sweet prince.
