We lost a titan of programming languages, programming methodology, software engineering and hardware design. Niklaus Wirth passed away on the first of January. We mourn a pioneer, colleague, mentor and friend.

Master degree student Rolf Glomsrud and I gave a talk at #JavaZone today about our experience with implementing JavaScript's Array Grouping proposal in SpiderMonkey. This talk is a direct result of a student project at @II_UiB back in 2021, which was co-supervised by @codehag

Thanks again to the University of Bergen in Norway for hosting @TC39 this week 👍

@mikhail_barash invited us and provided an ideal venue. It was interesting & valuable to learn more from the staff and students about their Programming Language research.

The long-time Xtext committer @dennis_huebner created a tool to migrate an Xtext grammar and related EMF metamodels to Langium. Of course it won't translate your Java or Xtend code to TypeScript, but it's a great way to kick-start your Langium project.

GUIs often have structures like lists, trees, etc. Still, surprisingly many GUIs don't support _manipulating_ those structures (think of: inserting, removing, swapping elements). Here is what we think: sciencedirect.com/science/articl… with @knutanderss and Jaakko Järvi
