As a corporate lawyer, I've been incorporating companies for 17 years, & it's a mess. Somehow we really got robots & AI before a halfway decent startup app.

So I built it myself--oneshot formation, cap table, governance and onchain identity for your startup today.

He’s been a doomer for much longer than I thought!

have been trying to use agents for more stuff

they have a long way to go

very American-centric right now

do you know there are countries where nearly every single purchase no matter how small requires ID, phone #, etc.? sad but true...and grokbot for example will not accept such details in its vault...

It’s true and overwhelmingly positive that blockchains are being adopted through tokenized RWAs and fiat stablecoins. I understand the push to rebrand the industry around Finance (or grouping it with other Frontier tech) rather than "crypto".

But to me, the word crypto has e beliefs around cypherpunk tech, decentralization, and the creation of entirely new economic institutions.

I believe "crypto" in its original sense will make a resurgence in the years ahead. As public blockchain rails become deeply integrated into legacy system, they’ll also lay the foundation for something far more transformative: the dominance of decentralized exchange, the proliferation of futarchy, the global preference toward non-sovereign money, and entirely new forms of economic coordination.

We’ll need a word to distinguish these new institutions from the traditional ones they’re replacing.

Fortunately, we already have one.

So yeah, I’m going to keep calling it crypto.

I wanted to test if a Solana program with no source available could be pulled from the chain and reverse engineered into a byte identical open source version

So I took the daosfun contract and did just that

Found a critical security vulnerability in the mainnet program too, oops!

All smart contracts can be perfectly reverse engineered now

There is no security by obscurity anymore

I am a technology optimist. I believe:

1. decentralization and censorship-resistance (real versions of these properties, not larps) matter to human freedom in the coming age of AI

2. self-sovereign money, implemented by code and maintained through decentralized consensus, is the final form of money. But it needs to be truly decentralized -- cut out every possible weakness, trust assumption, keeper, etc. Of course there will be connectors to the real world - harden those maximally

3. AI will write most smart contract code. Spec-driven development with Formal Verification will be how new contracts are written rigorously. FV will also be crucial to securing all the infra including the blockchain itself

4. AI will harden our surfaces, with some unfortunate hacks in the process, but ultimately the crypto and financial industries will come out stronger

5. properly-constructed and properly-indexed data lakes will enable agents to build software far more productively

6. governments will move to restrict AI usage in the future, causing true decentralization and CR to matter in dramatic fashion

7. quantum security will be a must for any ledger where people trust their assets. And specifically, blockchains will need to deliver quantum-resistance while retaining programmability and performance. Again, no larping

8. ZK will be an important part of the puzzle too, as it'll be increasingly important to prove off-chain computation and utilize the result on chain. But again, performance and effortlessness for users will be the differentiator

9. pragmatic and composable privacy will be the missing piece for real adoption. People will use apps that stack together stablecoins, DeFi, blockchain settlement, passkey or MPC authentication, and friction-free onramps, but the part that gets fintechs over the line is knowing that user balances will remain private while still being able to tap into shared liquidity

10. blockchain will serve as the global, universal marketplace, for anyone anywhere to get the best opportunities. For that we will need guarantees of fair execution, protection from frontrunning, and a convergence of all of the best assets

At @category_xyz and the @monad Foundation, we are assembling all of these missing pieces in parallel with extreme urgency, and I hope this is clear from our actions. See you in the future

We have strayed too far away from the core value props that carried the industry up to this point. The mean reversion back to cypherpunk will be led by futarchy, AI, and the EVM.

New @edge_pod!

A few years ago, Zcash looked almost dead.

A lot changed: price is up 40x, zcash:native wallets work, and there's huge flows into ZEC.

These Zcash builders say the price run is no fluke.

"It's not like we did the year of Zcash and it's over now. It's just the start."

me on same side as solana, who'd have thought lol?
The SEC's tokenization exemption has a big open question: what counts as a "public, permissionless" blockchain? 🤔

The first 3 tokenized stock venues:

TSV LLC on @CantonNetwork

OKXICE on its own @ethereum L2

Kephas Corp. on its own @ethereum L2

Who wants what:
lekanoms and @lex_node want it tighter

@hedera wants it wider

@SIFMA wants clarity

@BetterMarkets wants it scrapped

Meanwhile, 22 of 62 companies have objected to having their shares tokenized on OKXICE.

The rules for onchain stocks are being written right now & this graphic is a busy one!!

everytime there is moveVM hack it reminds of this guy!

moveVM is the future bruh gmove, solidity sucks, EVM sucks bruh

anyways good luck to initia team, hope you guys come back stronger 🫡
to the best of our knowledge so far, this is a Day 0 bug related to Initia's MoveVM on CosmosSDK that allowed the exploiter to mint additional tokens on the Initia L1 but does not apply to native INIT tokens.

the attacker was able to mint and bridge out ~$2.7m worth of AUSD, ETH, and USDC before the chain was paused.

For an asset to become a SoV it must endure devastating crashes where all hope seems lost, only for a group of holders to traumabond, reaffirm the mission, and emerge as hardened believers.

This cycle must repeat multiple times. Keep that in mind when evaluating potential SoVs.
