Something no one tells you when you're 20yo:

MD at an investment bank = sales

Partner at a consulting firm = sales

Partner at a law firm = sales

CEO at a startup = sales

Partner at a VC firm = sales

CEO at a AI lab = sales

Sales is the lifeblood of any company, something I feel Europeans need to be reminded of more often than Americans.

R.I.P., Adam.
$10M ARR is the FU MONEY of SaaS.

At $10M ARR bootstrapped, you and your co-founder clear $1M+/year in salary and dividends easily.

You can sell instantly for $30-40M. There are hundreds of EBITDA buyers at this level vs. a handful at $1B valuations.

From here, you can do whatever you want.

Hire a CEO and work 1 hour/week. Grind 100 hours if that's your thing. Raise $50M from a position of strength. Scale to $25M ARR with 25 people and pay yourself $10-15M/year.

Most companies never get here because VCs show up early with decacorn dreams and money you don't need.

That capital interferes with the one thing that makes you great: product-market fit.

Bootstrapping to $10M ARR is easier and less risky than creating a VC-backed unicorn, with a far higher probability-weighted outcome.

If you can find PMF and use customer money to get to $10M, you can do anything you want with your life.

I've been driving Uber eats the past 2 days in Manchester, NH

The city is swarming with @TPAction "ballot chasers" they've bought out every hotel in the city and filled them with out of staters.

They gave all these imports Uber eats vouchers to cover meals while they're in town.

The vouchers expire tomorrow.
They've been ordering tens of thousands of dollars of electronics and video games from retail stores on the UberEATS platform.
I've had multiple orders for $250+ bottles of perfume from Ulta.

Multiple have asked me to help get them drugs.

A couple ordering video games from game stop told me straight up they're mostly phoning in the door knocking and just here for the paycheck, they don't support Trump or Sununu.

And above all, with few exceptions they are horrible tippers, and Uber is offering wildly inflated base pay to get their order volume delivered.

Republicans are spending how many millions of dollars to flood New Hampshire with apathetic out of staters who are just here for a subsidized party vacation with nightly bar crawls and club nights, and premature victory parties all while the candidates they're supporting slip further back in the polls by the day.

GOP donors are gonna probably want an accounting, if not a reckoning, of how badly @TPUSA has blown this election, and how much money has been wasted to give a few thousand grifting college kids a free vacation and a bunch of cash and goodies to go home with instead of delivering results.

Interesting.

Revolut reportedly only started seeing meaningful AI productivity gains after moving away from expensive OpenAI and Anthropic models to self-hosted GLM.

Decagon reportedly runs ~90% of its workloads on open weight models.

Why? Because when you're running AI agents customer service, cost and latency matter enormously. You don't need a frontier model with PhD-level reasoning or even a model that knows the capital of Finland to handle every customer interaction.

We're seeing similar dynamics across hypergrowth AI startups and increasingly the large enterprises we work with.

But most importantly, the future isn't binary.

When use cases are new, you want the smartest general-purpose model available. But once workflows mature and become predictable, smaller, faster, specialized models increasingly win.

I wouldn't be surprised if 80–90% of routine enterprise AI workflows eventually run on open-weight and smaller models.

This doesn't mean frontier labs lose.

It means the market is splitting into two massive opportunities: frontier intelligence and specialized execution at scale.

Europe is the last beacon of democracy and freedom.

Europe definitely needs to unite if the individual countries want to survive.

It's very worrying if we can't even create an EU inc. for are we ever going to defend ourselves against everyone trying to weaken us.
I don’t think Europeans fully appreciate what is happening to the European Union right now.

The EU is under an extraordinary, multi-front assault, both from outside and from within. And I struggle to think of another period in its history when so many powerful actors had an interest in weakening it simultaneously.

Russia has spent years waging hybrid warfare against Europe. Weaponised migration, sabotage, cyberattacks, coordinated disinformation campaigns, bot networks and political interference. The objective is clear: undermine trust in democratic institutions, deepen social divisions and weaken European unity.

China has different motivations, primarily economic and geopolitical. A fragmented Europe is easier to pressure, easier to negotiate with individually and less capable of defending its economic interests.

And then there is the United States. Perhaps the most disturbing development of all.

Under Trump and MAGA, a country that helped rebuild the old continent and then spent decades supporting European integration now has an administration openly hostile to much of what the EU represents. Its own National Security Strategy even calls for cultivating resistance to Europe’s current political direction.

Think about that for a moment.

Meanwhile, within Europe, parts of the far right and far left amplify these divisions, whether through ideological alignment, political opportunism or outright sympathy for authoritarian regimes.

This doesn’t mean Russia, China and MAGA are all following some jointly coordinated master plan. They don’t have to. Their interests increasingly overlap, and Europe’s internal divisions make their work considerably easier.

What makes this particularly alarming is what is actually at stake.

For all its flaws, the EU remains one of the world’s most consequential projects built around liberal democracy, the rule of law, individual freedoms and cooperation between nations.

At a time when authoritarianism is gaining ground and even longstanding democracies are showing disturbing tendencies, that matters enormously.

Europe is far from perfect. Its bureaucracy, indecision and inability to act decisively are real problems. But the answer cannot be to retreat into 27 competing nation-states, each too small to meaningfully influence a world increasingly dominated by continental powers.

Quite the opposite.

Europe needs deeper integration, stronger common institutions, genuine strategic autonomy and the political courage to defend its interests and values.

Because fragmentation is precisely what so many external actors want.

And perhaps that’s the central irony of our time: people are being deliberately manipulated into believing that the reverse is true — that national identity and sovereignty can only be protected by weakening European cooperation. In reality, a divided Europe is less sovereign, less secure and far easier for outside powers to pressure. Therefore the very thing that will make Europe stronger is the thing its adversaries are working hardest to prevent.

A united Europe is a geopolitical power. A divided Europe is a collection of countries waiting to be played against one another.

While Europe is trying to cut off funding for Russia's war machine, Finland continues importing Russian nickel through Harjavalta.

The EU reportedly pays Russia nearly €1 billion annually for nickel, yet replacing it with alternative supplies could cost less than €0.15 per EU citizen.

Three Finnish MPs are opposing an import ban, citing concerns about jobs.

How many more years are we going to finance Russia's war against Ukraine to protect business as usual?
Satakunnan kansanedustajat @JiiViitala, @Eeva_Kalli ja @KristaKiuru vastustivat Ylellä venäläisen nikkelin tuontikieltoa. Omat ajatukseni videolla. Odotan vastausta.

Jos et halua, että jatkamme Venäjän sotakassan kartuttamista Harjavallan kautta, allekirjoita kansalaisaloite: kansalaisaloite.fi/fi/aloite/18171

Kysymykseni:

Kiuru: Latvia kielsi venäläiset maataloustuotteet kansallisella lailla. Miksi Suomi ei voisi tehdä samoin nikkelille?

Tarvitsemme 50 000 allekirjoitusta, jotta eduskunta ottaa asian käsiteltäväkseen. Allekirjoita, jaa ja kysy omalta kansanedustajaltasi, kannattaako hän tuontikieltoa.
