@UnholyCatReborn @KeyTryer Yeah, other answers have since pointed out that this accident’s impact energy is well beyond what the data recorders are built to withstand.

@KeyTryer The flight data is stored in solid state drives, which can take a lot of G’s. They’re surrounded by an inch of ceramic thermal insulation, a resin to absorb blunt impact, and then a titanium shell. It’s installed in the tail so the rest of the plane acts as a crumple zone.

@ArmandDoma It’s on the way.
Gino lost!
A federal judge granted Harvard summary judgment on all of Francesca Gino's claims (contract, sex discrimination, retaliation). Harvard's defamation counterclaim and sanctions motion are still pending, so she could lose even more.

TFW you ask someone a simple yes/no question on Slack and see the “[whoever] is typing…” dots for five minutes
(well, I guess the feeling is I’m glad they’re doing it in text and not in person)

Over the past months, a single Wikipedia editor has been quietly shaping @AbdulElSayed's entry.
The editing has been intensive and highly directed. For example:
+ Hasan Piker controversy got cut down.
+ Syed's antisemitism problem – deleted.
+ Harris and Obama endorsements ing AIPAC’s brand is “toxic” included.
Is it an op?
Well, two weeks ago the same editor had this to say in an edit summary on the El-Sayed page:
“another half month of this shit.”

@0xTommyGenesis @ArmandDoma Their sophistry around “yes we mean literally abolish” doesn’t much help either.

@BrendanNyhan Is Alexander possibly writing it in the sense of science fictional outcome to illuminate the more prosaic implications of how we even define alignment etc? Isaac Asimov wrote a couple stories around the same premise.

Having learned of the reason for Sir Patrick's passing, I've been thinking about this episode a lot today.

@SheriefFYI I feel like if earth was a second ahead of time, everyone would just agree to live with a one second difference between the clocks and when a quasar was directly overhead until they needed a correction in the other way.

That developer would be correct yes
The developer behind the controversial plan to build new homes on top of a Safeway store near San Francisco’s waterfront is accusing neighborhood opponents of using civil rights law as a “weapon” to keep new housing out of the low-rise Marina neighborhood. sfchronicle.com/sf/article/mar…

Dear frontier AI employees,
when leaving audio logs around the office, please remember to intermix:
1) reports of what happened
2) tragic personal anecdotes
3) creepy forebodings
4) the locations of useful access keycards and passwords
This will greatly help the protagonist.
