No they don't. There's television screens.
They have to figure out a solution to this obstructed view situation:

So this is bullshit.
This is an important comment from a mainstream institutional democrat

Israelis (+ @BillAckman & @mdubowitz) should read it carefully and understand what it means

Shutting down settlers wont be enough for the Democratic Party

If they come to power it’s Palestinian State (and the future 10/7s it will bring) or sanctions

Those are the choices

Prepare yourselves

A big problem with the Israel-Palestine discourse is just that large numbers of people on both sides of it are virulent pathological liars. It's a group of people who claim there were no rapes on 10/7 against another group who claims Al-Sayed supports the Muslim Brotherhood.

But in reality what we are seeing in the Democratic Party is a slow, deliberate turn away from unquestionably supporting Israel even as its government backs the settler criminal thugs.

And this is scary to people who want continued impunity for said criminal thugs.

The failure here is not that some academics have crazy beliefs (which has happened as long as there has been academia).

It's that the system isn't challenging and countering the papers and scholarship on these topics.
The American Studies Association’s annual meeting includes sessions titled “Zionism Is Racism: Introducing the Critical Zionism Studies Syllabus” and “Dezionizing the U.S. University.”

When that process works properly, it's not that nobody ever presents a bad idea. But rather, over time, scholars are forced to gravitate towards better ideas, and to improve and sharpen their own thinking.

That process has been short circuited.

If you create entire fields where people can present and publish crap and the only people evalulating the work are people with equally crappy ideas, this is the result.

16% of girls and 6% of boys are sexually abused, and only between 1 in 10 and 1 in 20 of those incidents involve biological parents.

Anecdotes are not data!
@dilanesper I would very much like child sex abuse to be rare, but it isn't. In my circles, some form of sex abuse for girls was the norm, including parental sex abuse. I was not personally a victim and it was a lucky fluke. Most kids aren't raised by upper middle class married parents.

Also note the classism here! There's no evidence at all that lower class parents are more likely to be pedophiles and indeed no reason why that would ever be true.

The richest music star of all time was a serial pedophile!

And by the way, as far as we know, that serial pedophile abused other people's children and not his own!

this is a weird way of putting things. A lot of abuse by mom's boyfriend occurs without mom's knowledge! The Amy Acton situation is not the standard "mom's new boyfriend" situation!
@dilanesper Most parents are doing their best, but a (quite) sizeable minority are like Amy Acton's Mom and choose denial
/new relationships/family "harmony" over protecting their kids whether or not they are themselves abusers. I don't have any quick fixes, but that's the reality.
