In the less than two years since Trump returned to office, major publications and networks have started pulling punches or praising the president. Others have been hollowed out.

One of the biggest changes happening in American life is getting little attention: Mass incarceration is ending.
The prison population is plummeting as crime falls. The consequences are extraordinary. @KeithNHumphreys and colleagues take stock.

Read my new @TIME cover story based on an exclusive interview with Donald Trump ahead of the midterms.
This cover marks a milestone for Trump: with 56 appearances, he's now been on the cover of TIME more than any other figure, surpassing Richard Nixon.

Together, Champat Rai, the religious organiser, Nripendra Misra, the bureaucrat and Govind Dev Giri, the godman formed the triumvirate that exercised maximum control over the Ram Mandir project. Dhirendra K Jha and @singhamritaa have the story
The Modi government is tying itself up in knots, trying to both claim credit for delivering on the Ram Janmabhoomi movement while also projecting distance from the controversies piling up around the temple’s management. Questions over construction management and land transactions have been followed by the trust’s biggest scandal yet.
This July, allegations emerged that donations made by devotees to the temple had been systematically embezzled to the tune of Rs 7 crore. A special investigation team constituted by the Uttar Pradesh government found some seventy suspicious incidents on CCTV footage, of counting staff concealing wads of cash, alongside failures as basic as an absence of frisking at the entry and exit points.

"Tech CEOs are calling for AI regulation, therefore I'm against it" is not a useful—or even usable—heuristic. Mark Zuckerberg is against regulation. You actually have to evaluate the ideas on the merits.
