DCEU made $4.9billion while Zack Snyder was there trying to carve out his vision
After he left, the next 9 movies couldn't even make half of that
WB have had 12 flops since Zack left
Audiences love Zacks DC

Clayface is a BIG surprise.
I went in basically blind with two buddies I regularly hit Comic-Con with.
None of us watched the trailers.
That absolutely helped.
This movie is wild.
Gruesome.
Disturbing.
At times downright disgusting.
And I mean that in the best way ries is fantastic as Matt Hagen.
The special effects are excellent.
The runtime is under two hours.
And the movie moves.
There’s always something happening.
The biggest surprise?
Clayface barely feels like a James Gunn DCU movie.
It feels much closer to The Batman, The Penguin, Joker and even Gotham.
Matt Reeves’ influence is all over it.
No forced comedy.
No goofy treatment of the character.
No divisive messaging taking over the story.
And most importantly:
Clayface is actually a VILLAIN.
Not an anti-hero.
Not a misunderstood good guy.
The movie lets Matt Hagen become a full-blown psychopath and serial killer.
That’s where Sony went wrong with movies like Morbius and Venom.
Clayface doesn’t make that mistake.
The body horror is nasty.
I actually had to cover my eyes a few times.
And by the ending, we finally get the giant, monstrous, shape-shifting Clayface fans know from the comics and animation.
It looks great.
I had a couple complaints, but nothing major.
This is exactly the kind of DC movie I want more of.
Dark.
Serious.
Comic-book focused.
And willing to let the villain be the villain.
Go see Clayface.
8/10.

You know you're a writer when a walk "to clear your head" turns into plotting chapter 12. The story follows you everywhere, that's not a distraction, that's the job.

Six children were trapped inside a burning house when neighbours began smashing windows to get them out.
Five made it to safety, but a 4-year-old boy was still missing as flames tore through the home. Then one neighbour did something extraordinary.
It happened in Edwards, was engulfed in flames, and neighbours were desperately trying to reach the children through the windows. One by one, five were brought outside, but when rescuers counted the children, they realized the youngest boy was still trapped somewhere inside.
The smoke and flames made it nearly impossible to reach him. Neighbours kept searching while firefighters battled the blaze, knowing every passing moment could mean the difference between life and death.
That’s when Kennard Hodge began digging through the smouldering wreckage with his bare hands. He searched through the debris until he finally found the little boy and pulled him to safety.
But the child was unconscious and wasn’t breathing. A sheriff’s deputy immediately began CPR as everyone around them pleaded for the little boy to survive. Then, incredibly, he began breathing again.
The boy suffered some serious burns and remains on a difficult road to recovery, but doctors expect him to survive. Kennard and three other neighbours were later honoured for their courage.
Kennard said he believed God had placed him there to give that little boy a second chance at life. And because of people who refused to give up, six children were given that chance.

This week's big project was one I really enjoyed working on: a retro-broadcast brand identity for Michael J. Byrne's Substack, America's Showplace Sports Report.
The whole look comes from a vintage TV test card — the color stripes, the retro-TV icon, and the muted palette. It on header and a full set of 13 section banners.
Open for similar work — DM me!

I am definitely becoming more picky about who I follow. If I was to give one piece of advice for someone on X, especially if they are new, make sure you are posting about the subjects you want to be involved in.
I am not perfect on that score, especially since my interests are so varied, but when I am deciding to follow someone, I am thinking: do I want this on my feed. For me, that ends up being a mix of books, games, tech, philosophy, food, art, and music.
I will not promise that this will help you grow your followers, but may help you have a more enjoyable experience.
