Could x402 reinvent the economics of the internet?
For decades, much of the internet has relied on two models: advertising or subscriptions.
But what happens when more internet traffic comes from AI agents than humans?
In Episode 4 of Crossing the Chasm, Justin Friedman is , Lead Agent Experience Engineer at @Alchemy, to look at how the rise of AI agents could reshape the way online products and services make money.
AI agents don't see ads, and they don't interact with the internet in the same way we do. As more online activity becomes agent-driven, businesses may need an entirely new way to charge for access to information, products and services.
That's where protocols like x402 come in.
On Crossing the Chasm, Blake explores how x402 could enable AI agents to pay for what they need in real time, opening the door to a more usage-based internet economy and new ways for merchants and online businesses to monetize what they offer.
The economics of the internet could look very different when the customer isn't always human.
