Stripe is acquiring Privy. 🤯💛!!

These last 3 years have been my absolute best, building alongside THE #1 team, and supporting 1,000+ customers as they've transformed their markets with crypto.

I couldn't imagine a better partner to multiply Privy's impact. Let's get it 🦾🦾
1/ Today, we're proud to announce that Stripe is acquiring Privy.

We couldn’t be more excited.

Privy will continue as an independent product – but now we’ll move faster, ship more, and serve you even better, so you can stay focused on your users.

1/ Every Friday, we ship to make building on Privy better.

Today: Read-only app secrets give your tools access to the data they need, without unnecessary permissions.

Dashboards, analytics, and support tools can view data without the ability to move funds or modify settings.

LIVE: Artisan has added a stablecoin-backed card to its bill-pay app with @privy_io and @StripeCrypto

Back in August, @doranmaul told us his US users wanted to pay their bills straight from their stablecoins:

“I would pay my mortgage onchain if I could.”
B
Pay the bill. Swipe the card. Same stablecoin balance.

Bill pay was step one. @privy_io and @StripeCrypto helped us ship step two in just weeks.

Today, I’m extremely excited to announce @eldoradoio's first stablecoin-powered credit product, in partnership with @talamobile and powered by @tempo ! 🚀

Access to credit remains one of the biggest barriers to economic growth in Latin America. Millions of people are excluded from traditional lending simply because they lack the documentation, credit history, or collateral banks require.

We believe access to credit should be determined by your potential, not just your paperwork.

Starting in Bolivia, eligible El Dorado users will be able to open their wallets, access pre-qualified credit offers, and receive funds in seconds, directly in USDT.

Loans will be disbursed and repaid onchain through Tempo, with Tala providing the capital and taking on the credit risk. For us, this is about much more than launching another financial product.

Stablecoins shouldnt just make it easier to move money. They should unlock entirely new financial opportunities.

By combining El Dorados distribution with Talas lending infrastructure, were taking another step toward making financial services more accessible to millions of Latin Americans.

Our ambition is to build the financial infrastructure that accelerates economic growth across Latin America, and expanding access to credit is a fundamental part of that mission.

Special thanks to the rockstar team that made this partnership possible: @shivsiroya @0xskittles @Santiaestrada93 @andreujuanc @exk200 @teresagrandia @Crisaudy_ and many others

We're just getting started. 🌎
@Tala is bringing uncollateralized credit into the @eldoradoio wallet: offer to USDT in seconds, settled onchain on @tempo. Starting in Bolivia, with more of LatAm to come.

@eldoradoio is on 🔥 and we're excited to keep turning up the heat.

Aaaand just like that, our first EXPEDITED cards customer is live on Privy's streamlined offering

@UseArtisan cash was able to get through partner approvals quickly, and launch in weeks with prebuilt, customizable UI components

@doranmaul has been a JOYY to work with on this!!
Artisan (@UseArtisan) went live in weeks with stablecoin-backed cards* using Privy’s prebuilt components and @stripe Issuing.

Launching a card program* has traditionally meant managing onboarding, KYC, fraud tooling, support, and bank approval across multiple vendors.

Privy’s ng that experience together, with pre-approved UI for onboarding, card creation, transaction history, and card management embedded directly into your product.

With Privy and Stripe Issuing, teams get:

✔️ Prebuilt components that streamline approval + launch
✔️ End-user support, fraud tooling, and pre-approved fund flows
✔️ Just-in-time funding directly from wallet balances

This means users can set up a card in a few taps and spend their stablecoin balance wherever Visa is accepted.*

1/ Coding agents, like Claude Code and Codex, can now build working machine payment integrations on Stripe in one shot.

With Stripe's Machine Payments SDK, developers can build APIs and services that AI agents pay for with stablecoins, one request at a time.

Using Privy wallets and Stripe issuing, you can have Muse, Instinct, Grok Bot spend your money, seamlessly ✨
1/ Privy lets developers give AI agents stablecoin wallets to hold funds and pay as they work.

But not all agent wallets work the same way.

With @link Agent Wallet and @stripe Issuing, agents can also spend using saved cards or stablecoin-backed cards.

I’ve found myself detouring back to onchain privacy from a few different angles over the last five years. Here's a few thoughts I wrote yesterday on what’s changed, what I've learned, and what it takes for technically interesting things to become useful :) x.com/i/article/2110…

Kiiiinda wild to think about how much our market and the use cases @privy_io serves have changed over the last year

To MANY more 📈📈📈📈📈📈📈
Today is probably a good time to check in on things with @privy_io, which became part of @stripe just over a year ago.

Our acquisition was predicated on three factors: stablecoin growth, self-custody as a key enabler of broader global coverage, and rapidly increasing demand for programmable financial infrastructure. As we said at the time, "money has to reside somewhere, and Privy builds the world's best programmable vaults."

Since then, the Privy team has executed exceptionally well: assets in Privy wallets have grown ~25x, monthly active developers are up ~3x, revenue is up ~9x, and Privy now facilitates nearly $25B of monthly transaction volume. @tryramp, @Deel, @Klarna, @felixpago, @HyperliquidX, and thousands of other businesses are building embedded banking functionality on Privy.

At Stripe, we're deeply integrating Privy into Treasury, @Link, and Connect. In each case, it's accelerating our global expansion, and enabling us to build better functionality faster. (Coming soon: @Link balances.)

We're also seeing that Privy's wallet infrastructure is the ideal substrate for agents to transact and earn -- live today with @merit_systems, @orthogonal_sh, @Nevermined_ai, @prlnet, and more. Developers prefer programmable financial infrastructure, but agents need it. We expect that the agentic economy will continue to grow extremely quickly.

The Privy team has maintained remarkable product velocity, with major launches this year including deposit addresses, earning on Privy balances, digital asset accounts, custodial wallets, and Stripe's own stablecoin cards.

It's also been neat to see how Privy has been accelerated by Stripe, with better onramps, @stablecoin payment rails and licenses, Stripe's fiat capabilities and issuing stack, and integration with @Tempo.

Together, we're building one API for holding stablecoin balances and earning yield, moving money in and out of fiat, and orchestrating spend with cards. We still have a lot of work to do, not least in integrating everything across Privy, Bridge, and the rest of Stripe -- there's been so much feature and functionality expansion that we haven't yet had much time to reconcile everything. Overall, though, I'm very happy with how things are going, and excited by where these capabilities are headed.

If you're interested in working on the future of stablecoins, agentic payments, and crypto's deployment in the real world, you should get in touch with @sternhenri (now leading all of @StripeCrypto) or others on the team.
