Today, @FoundryRobotics is announcing our $100M Series A, led by @MarlinspikeVC with continued support from @khoslaventures.
Together we’re securing America's ability to defend, compete, and innovate by building critical hardware at home with our new 130,000-square-foot factory ia.
We’re already shipping to paying customers across energy, telecom, autonomous vehicles, and defense. The next era of American manufacturing starts here.
Time to build.

This was super fun!
What happens when AI moves off the screen and into the physical world?
At our latest Future Perfect in San Francisco, cohosted with @redglassvc and @rhobusiness, we gathered robotics founders and investors to explore what it takes to turn breakthroughs in hardware and AI into ur robotics panel with @brentmurri, @bznotes, @FoundryRobotics' @adarshkulkarni and @nvidia's Ben Levin tackled the realities of building in the physical world. @latifperacha and @ring founder Jamie Siminoff took on the challenge of building tech before the market is ready.
We also made room for a conversation about storytelling, a skill that doesn't always come naturally to technical founders but becomes essential when you're trying to win customers, recruit talent and earn trust years before commercialization. It's part of how M13 helps founders build businesses, not just technology.
Some of the best conversations happen spontaneously and offstage. Hardware pioneers like Jamie and @Jawbone's @hosain swapped ideas with the next generation of builders, including Velodex Robotics founders Parker Owan and Jeff Hardy and Emanate founder @kiaranirghin, alongside entrepreneurs like @AlexYancher, who sold @PassportGlobal1, and investors like @McCreadieWill.
That's what our gatherings do: bring together the people building what's next and giving them more reasons to know one another. Thank you for joining us, and see you next time!

What a great question.
Why does nobody talk much about margins anymore. Just top line revenue, revenue run rate, and growth rates. And how about quality of revenue?
Will companies still have 80%+ gross margins? Or is software now routinely operating at hardware like gross margins?
What does this mean for relative valuation multiples applied to software/AI/hardware businesses?

this was fun
Our CEO @adarshkulkarni joined the "AI in the Physical World" panel at @AnthropicAI Founders House with @kalinowski007, @kevinmpeterson1 & Adrien Gaidon.
His take: deployment is the whole game. Physical AI is improving fast, but it still doesn't understand manufacturing.

This is so hype.
The US government will give your startup up to $1.55M and take 0% equity.
@NSF's America's Seed Fund is open again after Congress reauthorized it in April.
Three tracks:
- Phase I: up to $305K to prove the idea
- Phase II: up to $1.25M to build it
- Fast-Track: up to $1.55M, Who can apply:
- US-based startups with 500 or fewer employees
- 51%+ owned by US citizens or permanent residents
- Not majority owned by VCs
- All the work done in the US
How it works:
- Send a 3-page Project Pitch first
- NSF invites the best ones to submit a full proposal
- Next full proposal deadline: Nov 4
Phase I funding rates have run about 10 to 20%. It's work, but nobody takes your cap table.

Adarsh Kulkarni retweeted
In the same way software engineers now manage armies of agents instead of code, the future of robotics will be people managing fleets of robots that fasten and torque as opposed to torquing wrenches themselves

Super excited to talk robots here. Looking forward to it @claudeai!
Claude Founder House is coming to SF Tech Week (Oct 6–8) and Stockholm (Oct 14).
Come for talks, workshops, and office hours with our team, plus time to meet others building with Claude. Whether you're a founder, a CEO, or a builder, there's a session for you.

Wild juxtaposition today. Went to an event in DC talking advanced manufacturing in America while watching Xi’s motorcade.
So much to build.
So much to build.

Super excited to give a talk at @MIT_CSAIL with the @khoslaventures team.
So much to build towards manufacturing abundance.

Excellent write up by the @redglassvc team.
@bznotes is spot on, and we see this accelerate on the daily

The machines are becoming better at understanding and responding to the physical world. That is the technology story. But technology alone will not determine where robotics spreads first or fastest. x.com/i/article/2100…

The more founders I talk to, the more I realize something simple.
We have enough good companies, not enough great ones.
Start a great company. Make it count.

YouTube videos are great, but also it remains a hell of an achievement to turn on 8 4k cameras for realtime processing with 4 9’s of uptime in an industrial setting
