"It’s time to close the gap & accelerate #ClimateAction." 🌱🌍

#COP31
The figures in @UNEP’s 2026 #AdaptationGap Report are stark: developing countries will need some $305 billion per year by 2035 to prepare for future climate-driven shocks.

Climate impacts are intensifying and hitting those most vulnerable the hardest. Those on the frontlines the burden of financing urgent adaptation measures alone.

The international community must step up to uphold its commitments and help developing countries reduce risks, mitigate loss and damage, strengthen resilience, and advance sustainable development.

It’s time to close the gap and accelerate #ClimateAction.

"We have the tools and tech needed to change course. We just need global solidarity." 💯

#ClimateAction #COP31
Excellent insights @UNCityCPH from across science, diplomacy, policy and implementation on accelerating climate action.

Led by my colleagues @UNEPCCC, with Denmark’s Climate and Energy Minister Samira Nawa, and Ambassadors of Australia and Türkiye, we discussed @UNEP’s latest The report findings are clear: we can and must minimize the overshoot on global warming targets, cut emissions, and close the implementation gap.

We have the tools and tech needed to change course. We just need global solidarity.

@UNOPS is ready to scale up practical solutions to support a just transition, and help frontline communities mitigate, adapt and prepare for future climate shocks.

Let’s get it done!

Great meeting of @UN Chief Executives (CEB), discussing peace, multilateralism, inequalities, climate, and sustainable development.

It was the last CEB under @antonioguterres leadership as UN SG.

In the most challenging decade (conflicts, displacement, pandemic, climate is-misinformation), @antonioguterres 10-years leadership was absolutely remarkable. He will be remembered for his strategic vision, passion to multilateralism, commitment to reform and his ethical and moral compass. He stood for the UN values and principles, launched and implemented new action-oriented strategies, raised his voice in the most difficult moments, fought hard and delivered results for people on peace, sustainable development, climate change and AI.

The UN SG @antonioguterres and the DSG @AminaJMohammed truly embodied the only leadership style that really matters: the servant leadership. The kind of leadership whose success is measured by the impact on the people we serve.

Thank you!
