Striking sentence by Ian Parker in @NewYorker:
"He made the case to me that, given his past psychiatric condition, revealed in his attempt to kill a student, restricting his access to students is a clear violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act."

@elidourado I thought the same thing. People easily recognize golf balls as small, white, hard, dimpled, and shiny (5D!).

@zuhayeer @OpenAI @AnthropicAI Do you know how Staff was selected to mean more senior than Senior? To an outsider, it sounds less senior.

@zuhayeer @OpenAI @AnthropicAI How did they pick the word Staff? It doesn't inherently sound more important than Senior and less important than Principal. It would appear to generically describe everyone.

@DoubleJ69 @SVG__Collection Even if I love my bandmate's grandma, I might prefer to produce in a professional studio. But I don't know the whole story.

You’ve heard about rogue agent swarms, but how is AI enabling cybersecurity defense? Here’s my report for @IEEEorg @ComputerSociety.
Thanks, Matthew Butkovic at @SEI_CMU, Gabriela Ciocarlie at @FollowStevens, Cristian Rodriguez at @CrowdStrike, Sam Rubin at @PaloAltoNtwks, Michael D. Siegel at @MITSloan, Scott Woodgate at @Microsoft. computer.org/resources/ai-c…

@MTA So if you take the SAS to 125, you'll need to switch trains? Why not make it one line?

One possibility is that @ElizabethHolmes genuinely had never heard of “Who’s on First?” (remarkable) and, after watching it, didn’t understand it (astounding).
Another is that she merely pretended to not understand it (also astounding).
One problem with the latter is that at first she said she did understand it. Only when @nathanfielder pressed did she display confusion. But maybe she didn’t think of faking confusion until after his initial questions? I need to see the scene again.

In “You Can See Everything,” something about the Abbott & Costello scene puzzles me. Spoilers ahead.

@JamesSurowiecki I'd pick Post, Liquid Swords, or Exit Planet Dust over any of the 16 in the grid.

@fchollet How much of post-training is RL for reasoning, versus RLHF or SFT? (A quick Google search says 10–20%.)
