What is the point of winning if you never use the lawmaking power you win to enact better laws?
We’re fighting all around the country so Republicans WIN in November!
On Verdict, we break down the state of some of the most important races.

Why am I seeing posts today about a polling operation that was entirely fake as some kind of research project as if it is a new revelation?

My interactions with AI systems have been very limited. The experiences I have had have confirmed the reputation that they express in positive, supportive, affirming, agreeable tone.
I tried to use an LLM to sort through an idea I was working through and I had this same experience. Empty intellectual calories.

See, we can all see what you folks have been doing for years. The goal of changing the rules to sideline the current SCOTUS majority so as to displace written law with progressive policy has always come first, with the narratives cooked up to provide rationalizations just window-dressing.
WOWOW.
@baseballcrank says calling out SCOTUS' corruption AIMS at the destruction of the constitutional order.
Did he get a free RV for engaging in such hyperbole?

I've expressed my opposition several times to special rates and accommodations for old people just because they are old people.
It is just as wrong to penalize old people just because they are old people.
Everyone just pay your damn taxes.

We should double property taxes for people over 65 to encourage downsizing and free up inventory for young families

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if the house has $190,000 equity, you could easily get at least $140,000 out from a HELOC or 2nd mortgage, meaning the home does not have to be sold, but the inheritor could just use the equity to pay the debt.
My coworker's mother passed away last November.
She left her modest $190,000 house to him clear and free, no mortgage, completely paid off after thirty years of factory work.
He moved into the home in January to finally settle the estate.
Two weeks ago, a letter arrived from the state Medicaid estate recovery office.
Because his mother spent four months in a rehabilitation facility before she passed, the state quietly slapped a retroactive $114,000 lien against the property title.
He called the state health department, frantic, asking how a hospital stay could bankrupt an inherited home that had no mortgage balance.
The caseworker sighed and told him:
"Federal law requires state programs to claw back healthcare costs from deceased estates. The house cannot be sold or transferred until the balance is cleared in full."
He offered to pay a monthly settlement.
They said no. The full $114,000 is due in 60 days, or they foreclose on the property at a public auction.
A lifetime of working-class savings, wiped out overnight by a retroactive healthcare lien.
You don't own generational wealth.
You're just holding a property title until the state finds a legal mechanism to repossess it the moment you die.

The middle Boomer was born in 1955. He turned 25 in 1980, right on time to pay a 14% mortgage rate for his first "cheap house".

Actually capitalism has largely solved hunger as the result of non-man made scarcity and poverty. And it’s made remarkable progress on curing infections. What has Communism ever accomplished that capitalism didn’t do markedly better and sooner?
USSR collapsed more than 30 years ago and capitalism is yet to solve world hunger, world poverty or people dying from curable infections

Old people should pay their property taxes.
Any existing programs that give property tax relief on the basis of old age alone should be abolished.

The Boomers who bought their homes for magic beans and now want to raise taxes on everyone else to pay for their social security while also not wanting to pay property taxes for their palatial estates should all be tossed in a volcano. One last luxury cruise for them.
