When you type an unpublished idea into a chatbot or coding agent, could it end up being used by the company that built the model—or a rival who asks the right question a year later? And what can you do to reduce the risk?

No setting makes a chatbot fully private, but experts make leaks much less likely: scim.ag/4sihqtz

Today @GoogleResearch is launching Deep Review — an agentic system designed to stress-test manuscripts, design docs, and complex proposals before submission or publication. After pilot partnerships analyzing over 15,000 research papers, we’re making Deep Review globally accessible to help researchers, engineers, and professionals bring structured critique to their daily workflows.

Robert E. Hall, professor of economics and senior fellow at the @HooverInst, emeritus, celebrated with his sons Jonathan and Andy on campus after winning the 2026 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences.

“This is a wonderful surprise,” he wrote in a statement earlier Monday.
trying to understand how the economy works, following interesting questions wherever they led. When I thought I had a new idea, the next step was to find out whether it was actually new, whether it was right, and whether it mattered. I’ve been fortunate to have extraordinary colleagues and coauthors to help me sort that out, and working with them has been the greatest pleasure of my career.

Stanford’s Economics Department and the Hoover Institution gave me a dream job: the freedom and time to do the research I wanted to do.

The taxpayers of California gave me an excellent education in the public schools and at @UCBerkeley, and the federal government paid for my graduate education at @MIT.

I hope they will regard this as a satisfactory return on their investment.

I thank my family, especially my wonderful wife and coauthor, Susan, and congratulate Michael Woodford, whose work has taught me a great deal.”

Hundreds of human tRNA genes form a redundant repertoire for decoding the genetic code. But does redundancy imply functional equivalence?

A pan-cancer in vivo CRISPRi atlas from @genophoria and Vijay Ramani at @GladstoneInst reveals a structured landscape of tRNA dependencies.
