On Day 2 of the 29th Energy Technology & Innovation Meet (ETM 2026) in Goa, the plenary session on "CBG and Biofuels: Commercialisation, Policy Support and the Way Forward" was chaired by Shri Alok Tripathi, Joint Secretary (GP), MoPNG, who spoke on the key components of the GOBAme brings together assured offtake, stable pricing, capital support, pipeline infrastructure and credit guarantee support to build a stable Compressed Biogas (CBG) ecosystem that turns agricultural residue and organic waste into clean energy, while improving soil health and supporting farmers' incomes.

Shri Hardeep S. Puri, Hon’ble Union Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas, inaugurated the 29th Energy Technology & Innovation Meet (ETM 2026) in Goa today, 27 October, and interacted with industry leaders and energy-sector professionals.
Highlighting the evolving dimensions of energy snderscored the importance of resilient supply chains, diversified energy sourcing, robust infrastructure and preparedness in navigating global disruptions.
India has strengthened its energy resilience through diversified crude oil sourcing from 27 to 41 countries, strategic petroleum reserves of 5.33 million tonnes and an increase in refining capacity from 215 to 267 MMTPA.
The Minister also highlighted initiatives such as Samudra Manthan, E20 ethanol blending and the GOBARdhan Scheme, which contribute to strengthening domestic energy capabilities, reducing import dependence and advancing alternative fuels.
With the theme “Accelerating Energy Innovation: From Research to Commercialisation,” ETM 2026 brings together energy-sector stakeholders to explore technological advancements and strengthen pathways towards a secure, affordable, diversified and sustainable energy future.
