PRP đź’‰ is one of the things I get asked about most.
My answer: how it's made and how it's given matter as much as the shot itself. A new trial in early knee arthritis found a standardized approach beat "however each doctor does it" on pain, function, and side effects.

Getting better begins with the willingness to look honestly at your own performance.
The conversation you could have handled better. The preparation you rushed. The feedback that was uncomfortable to hear.
Each offers an opportunity, if you’re willing to examine it.
In adership, experience becomes more valuable when we reflect on it, seek feedback, and make specific changes to how we work.
The next step toward mastery may begin with a simple admission: I can do this better.

The most important conversation in the dugout may begin with five words:
“My elbow doesn’t feel right.”
What happens next says everything about the culture around that player.
Does someone listen?
Is the concern taken seriously?
Or does the player learn that honesty could cost a place on the team?
In Chapter 14 of Getting Cut, we explore the human environment surrounding UCL injury risk; the expectations, relationships, and unwritten rules that shape whether young athletes speak up or stay silent.
Coaches set that tone. Parents and teammates help reinforce it.
A supportive dugout welcomes honest communication. It recognizes fatigue. It respects recovery. And it values a player’s future beyond today’s result.
“They normalize honesty, respect recovery, and protect the future.”
— Christopher S. Ahmad, MD, Getting Cut
Before the next practice, ask your players:
“Do you feel comfortable telling us when something doesn’t feel right?”
Then make sure your response gives them a reason to keep telling you.
âšľ Share this with a coach, parent, or teammate who helps shape the game.

I'm a big believer that your feet can do amazing things for your balance and proprioception if you train them. Too much padding between you and the ground can impair your body's ability to know where it is in space. Minimalist shoes have a place, but if you're moving from regular t shoes, take your time and build resilience in your feet first.

🚨 New from #ICSES2026
@MikeMastroMD and colleagues from @OrthoColumbia found revision UCL reconstruction was associated with slower and more uncertain return to play vs. primary surgery in MLB pitchers.

Forearm pain deserves attention. ⚾️
It may be the warning light for future UCL surgery.

If you don't want CTE, the main thing we're trying to prevent is chronic repetitive trauma to your head. If you're fighting, you're not sparring heavy every day. If you're playing football, it's not a live practice every day. You don't use your body or your face as a weapon.
