COLUMN: Mark Carney’s selective morality on human rights
If the PM is going to keep gallivanting around the world making trade deals with the world’s worst dictatorships and downplaying their atrocities, could he please stop lecturing Israel about human rights?torontosun.com/opinion/column…

This will never replace our trading relationship with the US, but Canada has a real opportunity to be a global leader in nuclear power generation.
We have the natural resources and the expertise in building and operating nuclear plants. From our CANDU large nuclear to the leading edge work that the New Nuclear group at Ontario Power Generation is doing, Canada has developed a reputation for being able to deliver excellence in the nuclear industry.

🇨🇦 Canada didn’t become a country to become somebody else’s branch office.
If von der Leyen wants Canada tied more closely to Brussels, Carney owes Canadians the terms, the costs and a say BEFORE signing anything.
We elect a government in Ottawa. We don’t need another layer of politicians across the Atlantic telling us how to live.
Want trade? Negotiate trade.
Want political integration? Ask Canadians.
Sovereignty isn’t Mark Carney’s to give away at a photo op.

Ursula #vonderLeyen wants to lure Canada into an associate EU membership.
Will Mark Carney do right and tell von der Leyen to bugger off? If he won't, then the Canadian people will have to fix it, and maybe a new freedom convoy would then be in order.

Congratulations to Mark Carney on record-breaking growth in action verbs.
While Canadians struggle with rising costs, his government is busy trying to “deepen,” “strengthen,” “enhance,” “advance,” “foster,” “facilitate,” “encourage,” “explore” and “support” future cooperation. he speeches, summits and verbs.
We need action and results, not verbs, nouns or adjectives.

🇨🇦⛔️🤝🇺🇸 : Mark Carney suggests a trade deal with the United States of America may not happen for years, until the Donald Trump administration is gone.
Despite winning the 2025 election on a promise to sign a trade deal with the USA by mid Summer 2025, Mark Carney is prepared to o borrow Canada into oblivion.
This crisis borrowing is an 11 year trend. The Liberals have intentionally groomed crisis after crisis, so they can borrow endlessly.
Hundreds of billions of dollars have simply vanished, without any political accountability or punishment.
🤑 Covid-19
🤑 Climate change
🤑 US trade war
🤑 Overdose
🤑 Housing
As an example, in 2025 Mark Carney spent $25 billion on modular housing to ease the tent city crisis. Carney vowed the money would build homes at a rate not seen in multiple generations.
Instead housing starts are down in 2025 & now 2026. 2027 is forecast to continue this trend.
Where did all that money go? Why has no one resigned or been fired?
Obama infamously said, "never let a crisis go to waste".
In reality we are governed by people who seek out and even manufacture a crisis, so they can exploit it. They drag out the new crisis for years, if not a decade, all so they can borrow money.
Borrowing money is a stealth form of taxation because we pay the interest on that debt, instead of getting services for those tax dollars.
Justin Trudeau & Mark Carney will triple our national debt in under 15 years. We spend more on interest payments than Federal transfers for healthcare, across Canada, every year.
We spend more on interest than we bring in with the GST.
The GST was initially brought in to pay down DEBT. Now it can't even cover interest payments on our debt.

Prime Minister, beyond the Iranian regime lies the strategic challenge of Erdoğan’s Türkiye.
From Beijing to Doha, and now Ankara, your “strategic partnerships” read like corporate-Pierre Elliott Trudeau, who turned to Castro and Mao, a search for some middle path between the West and the Kremlin.
It was a costly mistake then. It remains one now.

You need to watch this highlight from last night’s final Toronto mayoral debate.
Mayor Olivia Chow had one chance to ask Brad Bradford anything she wanted. Any issue facing the city. There are so many legitimate topics to debate.
But she wastes the opportunity. She lies and ford’s straightforward plan to modernize how Toronto handles a basic service. @BradMBradford met the question with the exact response the moment required (paraphrased below for brevity):
“Mayor Chow, you know that’s not true, and I think that is below you, because I think you’re a good person. I think it’s below the office of mayor. It is not even possible to privatize water here in the province of Ontario.”
Why is the mayor @oliviachow resorting to these fear tactics instead of presenting a positive vision for the city?

@RichardDias_CFA I've noticed that the same commentators and pundits taking issue with any criticism of our approach to immigration, are the same ones moving rapidly to dismiss the democratic will of Albertans to exercise more control over it.
