HUGE: The en banc Fifth Circuit just held, 11-6, that illegal aliens caught in the interior can be detained without bond for the duration of their removal proceedings.

Not to mention, "Judge Wingate's" sweeping opinion meant that DEI (i.e. discrimination) must be permitted -- even in areas where discrimination is illegal. 🧐Sometimes you feel bad for the difficult tasks assigned to the little AI robots.
Holy guacamole: In a judicial smackdown, Judge J.E. Smith tears into Judge Wingate for his "careless[] exercise" of judicial power and "sloppy edicts based on falsehoods and fabrications." Mississippi's anti-DEI law can go into effect. Judicial AI use takes a beating. Reassigned.

How bad is administrative bloat in higher ed?

At MIT, the “student body has grown by 8% and its faculty by 9% since the mid-1980s. By comparison, the tally of administrators jumped by 189%.”

In Maryland, a school district can (and did) create an elaborate scheme to reduce the number of Asians and the courts said they weren't legally allowed to review it. Supreme Court will hear this case next year.
Can a school discriminate against Asian students as long as its enrollment numbers look “fair”?

The Supreme Court will hear a case challenging that very question after lower courts dismissed students’ claims.

Even the NYT acknowledges it's highly irregular for judges to platform themselves and their opposition to the federal government. Judge Schiltz likens Trump's DOJ to North Korea and argues DOJ is going to... be the reason people don't get married or have children? Totes impartial.
Impartiality is imperative to ensuring public trust in our Nation’s judiciary. Judge Schiltz’s and Judge Tunheim’s on-the-record participation in a recent highly partisan New York Times Article, along with Judge Schiltz’s subsequent public comments, unquestionably calls into be impartial in these cases. A judge who has publicly taken a political side on the issue of enforcing our Nation’s immigration laws cannot then preside over a case concerning one of the Justice Department’s key immigration enforcement initiatives.

@ElissaSlotkin @mrddmia This isn’t what you originally said, to be clear. You said you wanted to use the legal system to bring “signature cases” against Trump officials to dissuade young people from working in the administration, not to, you know, prosecute actual crime.

What's also great about this ad is how easy it is to consume on a quad screen, during a chaotic college football Saturday. Our political memory is sometimes short, but lest we forget, the Left has no legitimacy on "affordability." Their only solutions are giveaways, which caused the 9.1% inflation under Biden.
It’s that simple. Vote Republican.

I almost didn’t click because I thought surely this will be more normal than advertised. Nope. She actually wants the threat of lawsuit to stop college kids from going into the Admin. Third world insanity.
ON UCHICAGO CAMPUS: U.S. Senator from Michigan Elissa Slotkin hopes planned political prosecutions of republican leaders will scare young conservatives from getting involved in politics.

AOC is either this dumb or this deceitful or likely both. The program she's in theory referring to will LOWER the cost of education by ending incentives for schools to exponentially increase their graduate education tuition. SIGH.
🚨BREAKING: AOC just claimed the Trump administration doesn't want women to go to college.

AOC at Abdul El-Sayed's town hall in Escanaba, Michigan: "They don't want women to go to college."

She says loan changes target nurses, teachers and social workers. That's her pitch.

Indeed, @MayMailman. “If your parent is a terrorist, that is a problem.”

Apparently, that’s a controversial statement on CNN.

On CNN NewsNight, @MayMailman BLASTS Abdul El-Sayed’s policy agenda:

“These DSA policies, including Medicare for all, which he has endorsed, is going to raise the national debt by 45 trillion dollars, and that's going to cost people in GDP, which is going to cost people in their ffordability is definitely the number one target, but also I think it's an authenticity issue. So when when he goes on TV and says, "I have no connection to the Muslim Brotherhood, and my family doesn't, and then when his sister says that they do, and he's confronted with that, instead of explaining it, he says, "How dare you ask me about that? That authenticity problem, I think, is an issue for Michigan voters.”

And again in Washington State, a dude just switches over to the girls cross country team MIDSEASON and the State is like yes this is good. (Even I am surprised by the boldness every once in a while.) Is Washington actively trying to mock the girls, I'm so confused.

Ohioans and Americans deserve fair and hardworking judges, not Sherrod Brown's third world partisan garbage. A legal study across federal judges found Trump judges to top the charts on productivity, influence, and lack of partisanship!!
Ohio Democratic Senate nominee Sherrod Brown just pledged that he will not vote to confirm any Trump judicial nominees regardless of their qualifications. So not only would the Democrats pack the Court, but they will block any new judges to purge the courts through attrition.

SCOTUS has before it the next wave of women's sports cases: do laws eviscerating women's sports violate Title IX? @ADFLegal representing a female wrestler says yes. Briefing concluded yesterday. (The facts are depressing. The case says the girl faced assault, fingers in her he match.)
