Weird hit piece in @nytimes against Iowa Republican governor candidate @ZachLahn. Lots wrong, but to keep things simple here's one factual error. NYT said Mr. Sand's family has contributed about $5.8m to his campaign. Pro-Sand Iowa outlets noted $7m--in 2024! Much more since!

@nytimes @ZachLahn Given that a good chunk of the piece is supposed to be investigative work into the intersection of family finances and the campaign, seems like a fairly discrediting major error. Indeed, the Des Moines Register which endorsed Mr. Sand, admits his family has donated $12.75m

Between this and his ad on working with President Trump to secure the border, I'm starting to wonder if Mr. Turek is secretly an Ashley Hinson voter. (I wouldn't blame him, she's awesome!)
#IAPol: "No Iowan should face discrimination. As a Paralympian, I also know it's important to have rules. It's why I oppose males competing in female sports ... I'm against taxpayers paying for sex changes, too."

Josh Turek is up with a new #IASen ad.

Future reservations:

Can DOJ ask for extra verification to ensure that 20,000 identified non-citizens don't illegally vote? A serious panel of Judges Bennett (Trump), Bumatay (Trump), and Sung (Biden) have set a super expedited schedule. Oral argument on Sunday? I might multiscreen with the Jets!

A Russian man seeks asylum because he is bisexual. The immigration judge rejected the claim because the man had never had any male (or female) partners. Petition for review granted (aka reversed), per Judge Mendoza. The IJ misunderstood bisexuality. Maybe, but I'm atad skeptical

For someone who has a diametrically opposed view on many immigration issues than me, read here:
Yes, of course LGBT people are not safe in Russia, and yes of course they have a right to flee. Their very existence in public life is a state crime.

A man refused to shake some school board members' hands at an event. He claims that for that, he was retaliated against. Constitutional claim? No Fifth Amendment claim, and No First Amendment claim--it is government speech, per Judge Higginson.

Judge Ho dissents in part. He thinks there are more facts to figure out before determining whether the handshake incident is government speech (and unprotected) or private speech (and protected). Pretty fascinating distinction. Also, lots of unpublished decisions to deal with.

"The partners took issue with his status as a Trump-appointed regulator with an agenda to gut environmental and air quality regulation, the two people said." Crowell and Moring opposes American energy dominance and embraces political discrimination.

UPDATE: Bloomberg News has reported that Crowell and Moring was the firm that rejected a Trump Administration official because of his ties to the administration. This is a terrible thing for Crowell to do but I’m glad Aaron ultimately landed somewhere that values his experience. Link to story below:
