When a child becomes "transgender" they are taking on an identity given to them by adults. The decision cannot be theirs as they cannot understand the meaning behind the identity.

Thirty years ago today I announced the first ever all-female crew to attempt the Jules Verne Trophy. The non-stop round the world record we hoped to beat was 74 days! We were also the first all-female crew to race a maxi multihull; RSA was 74 ft with a top speed of 28 knots!

It is clear many MPs have as little understanding of child development as they have of the proposed Bill.
This Bill is written as if children are mini-adults with a fixed gender identity, and that conversations within families are conducted at an adult-level of understanding.

A new law that risks criminalising parents who question whether their children are trans must be scrapped, MPs, peers and experts have demanded.
βGenderβ, as opposed to sex, is an anti-scientific myth. If a child with a penis announces that he is really a girl, parents and teachers have a positive duty to educate him in the scientific truth that he is a boy.
Of course no parent should use physical or psychological abuse for any reason. But if anyone should be prosecuted it is those who abuse their duty of care by encouraging children in the anti-scientific delusion that they can choose their own sex.
