@ISBI3 @NoSecretLessons @forevershallon @EHRC That is not how it works. Reading s7 as applying to children with no lower age limit, as these deranged people argue, is impossible without reaching absurd results. So the rules of statutory interpretation demand that interpretation be discarded.

Intriguing she is so irate about this… given she was an EHRC commissioner for years, presiding over a law that does not give a lower age limit to the Protected Characteristics of Sexual Orientation or Gender Reassignment.
So, does she think children have a PC of Sexual Reassignment under the Equality Act or not? Because the EHRC clearly suggests they do and draws guidance up for it…
Did she campaign to the EHRC to ‘please stop describing CHILDREN as having the Protected Characteristic of Gender Reassignment. Children do not have gender identities or the capacity to consent to a process of reassigning their sex or gender?’
Is there a record of this position being submitted to the EHRC when Reinfdorf had the power to influence it, I wonder?
Or is this view only being arrived at now that Labour’s appalling Conversion Practices Bill has made it undeniable just how catastrophically dangerous the equality laws really are, which these civil rights socialist lawyers have been unwisely toying with?
Bottom line: LGB activists played with fire on behalf of all our children, women and families by sanctioning the creation of PC of GR, to try and preserve their own gay and feminist rights, and they’ve lost control to the predators.

The real issue with the Conversion Practices Bill is not the potential prosecutions (likely there will be none, like for section 28) but the clear legal expansion of GR to children, with no age limit. But the GC lobby cannot say that, because they agree. Hence the hysterics.

Yes, it’s kinda unforgivable that every single person campaigning on this issue who foolishly backed Cass, didn’t unanimously come out and condemn what had happened to this child along with Cass’s seeming complicity with it.

Why didn’t the House of Lords respond in horror? Why didn’t it get picked up in the Commons? Why didn’t the press go berserk that this is happening? Have we all lost our minds?

This statement from Dame Hilary Cass made it clear to me that minors should be outside the PC of GR and that Jo's parents should be prosecuted for abusive conversion practices.

Dr Bell is absolutely right. I can say with 100% confidence that had the conversion bill been the law when he blew the whistle, he would have been under criminal investigation as would Sonia Appleby, Susan and Marcus Evans, Dr. Matt Bristow etc......

Of course the worst part of the Conversion Practices Bill, is this paragraph, where it adopts and expands the definition of s7 EA. And who insists that definition applies to children with no lower age limit? Sex Matters, Foran and all the others GC hangers-on.

We're told that schools need to get 14-15 year-olds ready to vote at 16. Has the government thought through the problem of teachers who are political activists canvassing pupils for votes? And what about the obvious contradiction in expecting pupils to independently research who ernment's social media bans for teens? At the end, I responded to the minister telling me not to worry as 16 year olds will be allowed to get info from TRUSTED sources. Trusted by who? If this is a big expansion of democracy, why is there no impact assessment or proper engagement with criticism?

We should ban ‘trans’ surgery on the NHS - even for adults - to save them from self harm as a result of their delusions and compulsions. We do not help anorexics to starve themselves, we help them recover from their damaging compulsion. We need the same principle here.

My trans ex-H was one suicide victim. He threw himself out of a second floor window onto a paved patio below and died of head injuries in 2022. He had been castrated 12 years earlier, ruining his general health, his bodily integrity, constantly suffering UTIs, and (ironically!) NOT preventing a recurrence of his Prostate swelling, etc. His medical record was redacted, so there may have been even more iatrogenic harm caused by castration - NOT "recommended" 😭 @statsforgender

If children were excluded from s7 EA, the Conversion Practices Bill would have no effect. Guess who insists children can be transexxual, and therefore covered by the Bill?
@MForstater “The draft Conversion Practices Bill is a trans activist’s dream. It reads as though it was written with significant input from trans-activist lobby groups who consider ‘misgendering’ a form of abuse.”
@Jebadoo2 claimed Stonewall would benefit from the bill because it tells businesses they have to take “all reasonable steps” to ensure that no one in the firm provides conversion therapy.

A SM advisory board member won’t deny children can be transsexual and explains that @SexMattersOrg position is that “if a child claims to be trans then they acquire the pc of gr”.
In other words they agree that children can be on the pathway to being a “transsexual person” and have the legal status for ‘reassigning their sex’.
I honestly don’t know what to say… why would anyone ever accept such an insane proposal?

Galop provides a self referral service for children aged 13+ who unhappy at home, including if they “pan, queer, ace, aro, trans, non-binary, genderqueer, gender fluid and intersex” or “aren’t sure about their identity.”
It says “it’s great being LGBTQ+” and that it will create “abusive parents” including “liaising with gender identity clinics” and arranging housing.
It’s easy to imagine a vulnerable teenager being persuaded by a helpline advisor that their parents are abusing them by not supporting their gender identity. The conversion therapy bill could lead to parents being arrested and the child being taken into care where their identity is affirmed by gender ideologues.

So maybe ask GC women what is gender reassignment, who reassigns it, and who assigned it originally, and how newborns can already have a reassigned gender. All questions @SexMattersOrg not only refuses to answer but even to ask.
A new law that risks criminalising parents who question whether their children are trans must be scrapped, MPs, peers and experts have demanded.
‘Gender’, as opposed to sex, is an anti-scientific myth. If a child with a penis announces that he is really a girl, parents and teachers have a positive duty to educate him in the scientific truth that he is a boy.
Of course no parent should use physical or psychological abuse for any reason. But if anyone should be prosecuted it is those who abuse their duty of care by encouraging children in the anti-scientific delusion that they can choose their own sex.
