The right wing candidates being populists and the left wing ones being DSA communists is one of the final steps of the Brazilification of the U.S.

RIP Donnie Iris. A rocker that not nearly enough people knew the music of, but I'm glad that I had the privilege.

Actually, if you cut an ad saying Americans are having a tough time buying bananas because we spend 1/10 of 1% of the budget on Israel -- with most of that being funneled back to U.S. defense contractors -- and not a really big storm in the Pacific, you do, in fact, hate Jews.
If you think this ad is antisemitic, you’re in a cult and don’t know it. You think Israel is owed all the money it wants from US and if Americans don’t hand it over - without complaint - they’re antisemites. That’s insane, but you don’t realize it because you’ve lost your mind.

Yes. The answer is yes. If this is hard for any candidate they shouldn't be representing the party.

What an absolute disaster of bad policy meeting poor governance.

Never California
Josh Rauh and Ben Jaros of Stanford's Hoover Institution work out that a founder who pays California's wealth tax by selling shares must sell about $1.59 for every $1 owed, because the sale itself triggers roughly 37% capital gains tax. The bill grows the moment you try to pay it.

Passing a law that bans private insurance is wildly illiberal, and a simple red line for never receiving my vote again. Full stop.

I met Haley Stevens today. I thought she was charming. I'm sure we disagree on much. But I think it's pretty obvious, she'd be putting Michigan away right now if she won the primary.

the cowardly thing about John Oliver in my opinion is that he never ever ever ever ever challenges the biases of his overwhelmingly liberal audience or presents them with any information that might cause them to question their existing beliefs. it’s all just partisan comfort food
HBO's @LastWeekTonight has a long track record of citing social science findings without the appropriate context, massaging them to support whatever point @iamjohnoliver is trying to make.

This 👇 but for all government postings. Not calling for the firing of people, but government isn't supposed to be a jobs program and there's a path of attrition that good governance would welcome and take.
That said, I do think organizations will need to make hard choices. CEA has a responsibility to do whatever it with the least taxpayer dollars. If data memos or other aspects can be automated they should be--and that should affect hiring.

This is an abominable tweet. She is *criticizing* these decent men and women for coming together to repel the marauders and protect their city’s shops. But these are exactly the kinds of citizens healthy societies cannot function without.
