some really good trackpad improvements for Windows 11 here. It’s the little things like this that count 👍
Friday’s Windows tip of the day!
If you use a Windows PC with a touchpad and spend a lot of time scrolling through long documents, webpages, or code, this one’s for you.
Three touchpad improvements we’ve been working on: accelerated scrolling, edge scrolling, and single-finger s that make everyday navigation feel more natural and comfortable.
Accelerated scrolling is available today, with edge scrolling and single-finger scrolling coming next week to WIP.
Here’s a quick look at them in action:

A great Windows experience starts with strong fundamentals and is ultimately defined by the moments people experience every day.
Our latest Windows 11 updates build on the foundational work we're doing across the product. They include more seamless phone-to-PC integration, a ience, a new Search experience, and new features for gamers. All designed to make everyday moments on your PC simpler and more intuitive.

Crazy idea for @windowsinsider : implement Quicky Share into Windows for sending as well as receiving from Android, Windows & iOS devices. It should support:
- All file types
- Plain text / links
🙏🔮

Doing some performance optimizations for next week's closed beta release.
The comparison here is a bit unfair, as we dynamically load and unload modules that haven't been used for a while, such as Calendar, Settings, Search, or the Results view. We intentionally take the hit of second before these views load in favor of better RAM management. PowerMail also doesn't have the same level of complexity as Outlook, and on top of that, it's built natively with C# and WinUI 3.
The hardest part is always finding the right balance. As a small app, we can make these decisions on a case-by-case basis, whether that means prioritizing better performance or a better/wors user experience

So, write UI directly in C#? Mhhhhh, intriguing 🤔

After two weeks with the improved graph for the internal PowerMail on device brain, I realized that I don't even bother checking my emails anymore, apart from the highlight cards xD

Waitlist is open (closed beta testing). We plan to start within the next 3x weeks and doing the final polish now. We'll start small to ensure user expectations don't collide with our internal assumptions and ensure that our WinUI3 native mail app truly brings value to your inbox
We are getting ready for the first Insider wave of PowerMail!
Join the wishlist if you're interested in a Win11-native mail & calendar client with secure MCP integration, plus plenty of good old-fashioned algorithms that keep getting smarter, even without AI ;)

Okay, the battery drain on the Surface Ultra RTX Spark looks more promising today. I guess the culprit could be my local Apache and MySQL setup, which sadly is still not native on ARM

For all RTX Spark users like myself: after soft-resetting my Surface Ultra, this page opened and gave a nice introduction on how to set up your new device properly. Kinda helpful to get quick access to the right tools

Okay, first time ever gaming on the go without fear of missing out on superior desktop graphics. Sound is also awesome; Dolby Atmos kicks in probably harder than on the Sonos system; it's crazy how good the Surface Ultra performs

As a day-one Surface user who bought the Ultra: I wander why buying a Ultra instead of a MacBook Pro Max when it's the same feature wise, minus the touch. Worse battery, none of the SFB/SFSL versatility, same price?
Right now, the RTX Spark seems like an ad for the MacBook

I'm still a huge fan of the Surface line, but I wish they would get back to what made Surface great in the first place, rather than playing it so safe with their products

Does any RTX Spark user have any data to share here? Running out of juice after 4.5 hours isn't ideal for a normal workday, sounds more like something you would expect from a x86 system
Seems like Copilot aligns with my feelings regarding the battery drain on the Surface Ultra. I hope this is just a firmware or driver issue, but so far it feels a bit underwhelming. Any experiences from other MacBook or Spark users? #rtxspark
