Hitler was a far left socialist. Literally in the name of his party!

@DPJHodgeshe Nazis were socialists. Their actual name was the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, literally the National Socialist German Workers’ Party. “Nazi” is simply the shortened form.

And before anyone starts with the usual “but historians call them far right” response, Mussolini himself began as a committed socialist, preached Marxist socialism, edited Avanti!, the official newspaper of the Italian Socialist Party, and only later broke with the movement and developed fascism.

The point you're missing is that nefarious and dangerous political movements nearly always rise under lovely sounding promises about “the workers”, “the people”, fairness, equality and liberation from nasty capitalism, while the people running them somehow never seem very keen on living the lives they prescribe for everyone else.

Even Marx didnt put his own money where his mouth was. He spent much of his life in financial chaos, repeatedly relying on Engels to send him money, while Engels himself earned his living through the family business Marxist theory supposedly regarded as part of the capitalist system. Marx’s own correspondence is littered with requests for cash and complaints about debts.

So your GDR example rather proves the point. Calling East Germany “democratic” didn’t make it democratic, any more than calling yourself socialist, communist, progressive or “for working people” means the people at the top intend to live by any of it.

Look at Labour in 2026. How many MPs have ended up in investigations, expenses rows or questions over money while lecturing the rest of us about fairness, sacrifice and paying more tax?

Only this week Perran Moon was suspended by Labour over the £50,000 taxpayer backed Covid Bounce Back Loan. The working class kept working, and Moon "man of the people" saw an opportunity to fleece furlough.

But THAT is the point, Dan.

History is full of people promising equality for everyone else while sitting on their arse spending somebody else’s money. Starting wars they have no intention of sending their own sons to fight.

THATS LITERALLY THE POINT.

Socialists/communists/Marxists say one thing and do another.

@DPJHodgest lie the Left ever pulled off is that Nazi's are/were right wing.

They were genuine socialists. Even their policies reflected such.

History repeats, we now have Nazi's running this country - just look at the polices they are implementing - totalitarian and authoritarian.

People voting for Labour = turkeys voting for Christmas.

You have been warned. WAKE UP.

@DPJHodges matter of historical ignorance—it is historical revisionism. Left-wing intellectuals have successfully reshaped the narrative, executing what may be the most effective propaganda campaign in modern history.
A closer examination of Fascism and Nazism reveals their true nature, showing that they share virtually nothing with conservative patriotism, free-market economics, or the philosophy of a limited state.

x.com/Kristof_Poland…
Hitler’s socialism wasn’t just an internal economic policy – it was the cause of the war.

Socialism was at the origin of the war. Not as a coincidence. As a necessity. The socialist economic model generates contradictions it cannot resolve internally – the calculation problem, stagnation, the mounting failure. War is the exit. It provides the external enemy that explains the internal failure. It justifies the total mobilization the system always wanted. It consumes the surplus population the economy cannot employ. It redirects the resentment outward.

Does this remind you of anything?

The evidence is not subtle. The NSDAP program of 1920 reads like a standard socialist manifesto. The economic reality confirmed it – price controls, industrial planning, state allocation of raw materials, entrepreneurs reduced to government functionaries. Private property in name only. Mises called it Zwangswirtschaft – coercive economy. Hayek dedicated a chapter of The Road to Serfdom to the socialist roots of Nazism. Both writing from observation, not retrospect.

After 1945 the Soviet victors imposed their version and attached the capitalist label to every rival. Western textbooks followed. The lie became the curriculum.

The real divide has never been left versus right. It is collective control versus individual freedom. Once you place National Socialism correctly within the family of collectivisms, the political spectrum becomes legible – and the war becomes explicable.

When the system fails — and it always fails — it needs an enemy. The bigger the failure, the bigger the enemy required.

Imagine being Poland. Squeezed between two socialist systems, both searching for their enemy.

We were it.

@DPJHodges the Nazis were socialists in the sense that their ideology and practice centered on subordinating the individual and private property to collective national goals, extensive state direction of the economy, and rejection of classical liberalism and free-market capitalism—while wrapping it in racial nationalism rather than Marxist class struggle.
Core definitional point
Socialism, stripped of later Cold War polemics, is the doctrine that the means of production, distribution, and economic life should be controlled by or for the collective (the people, the nation, the workers) rather than left to private owners pursuing profit. National Socialism fits this definition more closely than it fits laissez-faire capitalism or traditional conservatism. The party’s full name was the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (National Socialist German Workers’ Party). This was not a late rebranding; the “socialist” label was deliberate and central from the early 1920s onward.
Programmatic evidence
The 1920 NSDAP 25-point program demanded:
• Abolition of unearned incomes and the “breaking of interest slavery.”
• Nationalization of trusts.
• Profit-sharing in large industries.
• Expansion of old-age welfare.
• Land reform and the prevention of land speculation.
• Communalization of department stores.
Hitler repeatedly endorsed these points in speeches and Mein Kampf. He distinguished his socialism from Marxism by rejecting internationalism and class war in favor of racial solidarity: the German Volk as the relevant collective. He stated that National Socialism was “true socialism” because it subordinated capital to the nation rather than to a class or to abstract internationalism. The party’s early rhetoric attacked “Jewish finance capital” and “bourgeois liberalism” while promising a Volksgemeinschaft (people’s community) in which economic life served national strength.
Practice in power
Once in government the Nazis did not abolish private title to property, but they rendered it conditional and heavily directed:
• Private owners kept nominal ownership only so long as they served regime priorities (rearmament, autarky, racial policy). The state could and did seize firms, appoint managers, and dictate production, prices, and wages.
• Independent trade unions were destroyed and replaced by the German Labor Front, which organized workers as a national collective under party control.
• Massive public-works and infrastructure programs (Autobahn, rearmament, Kraft durch Freude leisure programs) were financed and directed by the state.
• Price controls, foreign-exchange controls, and four-year plans imposed central planning without formal Soviet-style nationalization of every factory.
• Welfare and social programs expanded for “racially valuable” Germans while excluding or expropriating others.
This is state socialism with a racial rather than a class criterion of membership. It is closer to the economic practice of other 20th-century authoritarian socialist regimes (which also mixed state ownership, private title under political control, and nationalist mobilization) than to the free-enterprise systems of the Anglosphere.
Ideological self-understanding and internal factions
Hitler and leading Nazis repeatedly described themselves as socialists and attacked both Marxism and capitalism. The Strasser wing pushed a more explicitly anti-capitalist line; Hitler purged the most radical leftists in the Night of the Long Knives, yet retained the socialist branding and many of the economic controls. Joseph Goebbels and other propagandists framed National Socialism as the German answer to the social question that Marxism had posed but answered wrongly. Anti-communism was fierce because the Nazis saw Bolshevism as a rival, internationalist, and (in their view) Jewish version of socialism—not because they defended private property rights as an end in themselves.

@DPJHodges The Nazis and Fascists only became right wing after the war. Not because they changed but because it suited the main sponsor the left, the Soviet Union, for their defeated enemy to be positioned as right wing. And for their new enemies to be thus associated with the bad people.

@DPJHodgeson’t like the truth Dan, because it pushes Hitler to close to home.

It all ties in with having to sell the biggest lie that we won the war. The Soviet Union. The loss of Eastern Europe up to E.Germany including POLAND says otherwise.

We defeated Hitler, we didn’t win the war against Far left totalitarian, barbaric ideology that started it.

So Hitler was proclaimed as Far Right, and this is how “Our Victory” was sold to the West. Even though we were in a “Cold War” some would say that has never ended and is now firmly at our front door.

@DPJHodges4 book The Road to Serfdom, Hayek challenged the common view among British academics and Marxists that fascism and Nazism were merely capitalist reactions against socialism. Instead, he argued that Nazism, fascism, and state socialism grew out of common collectivist ideas and the rejection of classical liberalism.

Hayek maintained that central economic planning, state control over production, and the subordination of the individual to the collective were the core drivers of both socialist and Nazi regimes

He asserted that any system abandoning individual freedom and private choice in favor of state-directed social or economic goals naturally leads to authoritarianism and tyranny, regardless of whether it is branded as socialist or fascist

I think he's right. Two cheeks of the same backside.

ADOLF HITLER WAS A SOCIALIST, HE WAS A FAR LEFT EXTREMIST THAT HATED JEWS AND IMPOSED A TOTALITARIAN DICTATORSHIP ON GERMANY & THE WORLD !

Sound familiar ?

The far left now describe themselves as anti fascist or woke but they still are dangerous extremist’s forcing their minoority.

Where did the globalist movement begin to take decisive action on rolling out the far left agenda …GERMANY.

Neo Nazis today are globalists, they have decided to end the individual sovereignty of all nations in order to rule the entire world through one goverment. (WEF)

This agenda is clearly a totalitarian dictatorship, the ordinary people of the western world have had no vote or consultation on the agenda of unlimited mass migration.

The ordinary people of the west have begged to be heard, there sensible and reasonable concerns have not only been ignored but the people have been ostracised and labelled racist’s for raising them.

The far left establishment have absolutely no regard for the will of the majority of the public, they mock the public and arrogantly smear them with insults.

The far left establishment directly control our MSM and push out constant poisonous propaganda and gaslighting all weaponized against the ordinary oppressed members of the public.

THE FAR LEFT ARE EXTREMIST LUNATICS, THINK ABOUT IT.

It is the far that demand unlimited open borders, It is the far left that try to attack patriotism, It is the far left pushing perverted gender Ideology on children, It is the far left pushing mandatory vaccines, It is the far left pushing critical race theory, It is the far left invading womens safe spaces, It is the far left trying to destroy Christianity, It is the far left trying to destroy the history, culture and traditions of the west.
THEY ARE THE ENEMIES WITHIN !

When the far left call you a fascist or a racist they are calling you what THEY ARE, THEY ARE THE EXTREMIST’s !

The people of the west are rising up against the evil agenda of the far left, we have had enough.

Time for change, make sure you are on the correct side of history …this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to get our country and world back.

Think of your children, think of god and take action !
