I am desperately refreshing my X feed to get up to the minute testimony from our favorite Towel, so if you have other things to do today, check back here for occasional summaries so you can keep up.
The first witness today is the mental health counselor, Diala Alkhalil, who treated #SandraBirchmore from the age of 11 years old until the day before her death. This is the counselor who made us all cry a little bit when she revealed Sandra’s visions of her mother coming to her to warn her about something happening to her and the baby.
I, personally, think this counselor sealed #matthewfarwell's fate with the jury, but we shall see.

Sandra came to see her after being under another doctor’s care since 2007 with a possible Bipolar diagnosis and ADHD. The previous doctor was Dr. Leonard.
Alkhalil ruled out Bipolar disorder, but agreed with the ADHD diagnosis and added an Adjustment Disorder and Anxiety to her file. Alkhalil would attend almost all of Sandra’s IEP meetings (IEP meetings are where Special Education services are decided and monitored for a student). Sandra had been having issues at school regarding attention issues and a learning disorder that needed accommodations. Teachers reported Sandra being defiant.
From 2011-2016, Sandra did not come to see Alkhalil due to transportation issues.
2016 Sandra started college and returned to counseling with Alkhalil after her mother and her grandmother’s deaths.
In 2016, Sandra reported ADHD symptoms, a history of drinking, panic attacks and sadness. It was also noted that he was having issues with coping skills. Other issues reported by Sandra included appetite issues, sleeping issues, difficulty concentrating, little interest in things she normally liked, being unable to attend work/school, unable to maintain personal hygiene, social withdrawal, and panic attacks. Sandra’s grief and anxiety escalated to the point where she was having physical complaints, such as migraines, dizziness, fainting, and menstruation difficulties.
Sandra reported trouble at home but did not claim to have any sucid*al ideations, paranoia, or disassociation. She did not report any physical, emotional or sexual abuse at that time.
Sandra’s symptoms waxed and waned. Sometimes the ADHD symptoms would be more prominent, sometimes the panic disorder would be. Sandra refused to be medicated until 2020.
In 2017, Sandra reported sleep issues, anxiety, racing heart, nightmares, and financial issues. Journaling was suggested. She reported relationship conflicts with a friend and her aunt. She also experienced grief from losing her mother, grandmother, and her boyfriend (William Killroy).
June of 2017, Sandra reports feeling angry, isolated and unsupported, but reported NO self harm.
Defense shows the witness Sandra’s journal where she is listing the pros/cons of self-exiting. Ms. Alkhalil was never shown this list by Sandra.
Alkhalil noted that in 2017 she noticed that Sandra was not keeping up with her appearance and appeared unkempt. She also noted more anxiety and depression. She also started having fainting spells due to panic attacks.
Sometimes Sandra would have difficulty paying her co-pay, but Alkhalil did not turn Sandra away. In 2020, Alkhalil did request payments before sessions when she noticed Sandra would be taking trips. Alkhalil had to talk to her about setting up boundaries and making priorities.
May 14, 2020 Sandra was sent to Good Sam on a section 12 (section 12 is concerns about someone self-harming). Sandra texts Alkhalil that day to tell her that her aunt called the cops on her and the police were yelling at her to call her therapist. This confused Alkhalil because she is not a crisis therapist, but she saw her by telehealth that day and then again two days later.
Alkhalil suggested Sandra go to a day program where she could get treatment from 9 am to 3 pm daily, but Sandra refused.
July 2020, Alkhalil suggested antidepressants.
Sandra had only reported one self harm attempt when she was in high school; she tried to take Tylenol and threw it all up.
The holidays proved to be hard for Sandra because she felt alone. Medication was suggested again.
Sandra referred to Matthew Farwell as Matt. She says that Matt payed a role in supporting Sandra for major events but did not support her on a daily basis.
When asked what her understanding was about how Sandra felt about Matt, Alkhalil says, "Its hard to say whether she loved him, I never inquired, but I know he played a major role in supporting her, when she was grieving, going through the situation with her ex, he was very supportive. She was very protective of him, so anytime I challenged her relationship with him or some of the judgments she was making, she would quickly shut that down and said, 'Oh I don't care,it's fine.'"
Sandra did tell her that she really wanted to have a baby.
Alkhalil told Sandra that she was only 23 years old and she didn't know if Sandra could handle it since she had difficulty taking care of her self at times.
Sandra told Alkhalil that Matt really wanted the baby with her and said they had tried to start getting pregnant back in Jan 2020. When she got pregnant in Dec 2020, she told her Matt was the father but claims he's not and refuses to sign the birth certificate.
Sandra told her Matt took her virginity when she was 16.
Sandra was sad in Jan 2021 because her mom and grandmother would be there for her baby's birth. Alkhalil was concerned because Sandra was on her own and had no one. Sandra also reported feeling anxiety, poor sleep, social withdrawal, racing heart, and fainting episodes in gym.
Sandra started texting her almost daily about everything, like panic attacks and spotting during the pregnancy. Alkhalil had to discuss boundaries with Sandra again because she would call/text in the middle of the night.
Sandra was worried something bad was going to happen in her apartment.

Let’s discuss the Boston PD Commissioner Michael Cox, shall we?
You may be wondering why we should care about the Boston PD during the #SandraBirchmore trial, but let me remind you of some of the names that are connected to the BPD...
👮♂️ John O’Keefe who worked in the Sex Offender Registry Unit.
👮♂️ Brian Albert, who has one brother that was a Canton policeman and another brother who is on the city council
👮♀️ Kelly “False Memory” Dever… who coincidentally just resigned from her BPD position last month.
Just in case you forgot who Kelly Dever is, Dever originally told investigators she saw ATF agent Brian Higgins and former Canton Police Chief Kenneth Berkowitz with Karen Read's SUV in the police department garage for a wildly long time the night of O’Keefe’s death.
After a meeting with Commissioner Cox, and a huge promotion to work for the Boston Police Department, Dever’s story miraculously changed while she was on the witness stand and all of sudden she doesn’t remember anything.
I really hate when that happens.
When Commissioner Michael Cox was questioned about Kelly Dever, Cox denied knowing Dever. He also claims he knew nothing about the Read Trial… even though the whole case was about two of his own officers, one of which was killed and found on the other police officer’s property.
Sure, Michael. 🙄
But while we’re on the subject… Let’s discuss Commissioner Cox.
If you’re not from the Boston area, you probably don’t know about Cox’s rise to commissioner.
Buckle up, it’s a DOOZY…
While doing plainclothes work as an officer in training, Cox was purposefully hit by a police vehicle and then pinned by officers to a wall. He let that go.
Then in January 1995, Cox was an undercover cop and chasing a homicide suspect when he felt a sharp crack to the back of his head. He fell to the ground and more blows followed. Other police officers had mistaken Cox, a Black officer dressed in street clothes, for a suspect. Officers surrounded him, kicking and punching, until one of them noticed his police badge under his jacket.
Cox passed out. There was a long stretch of silence before anyone called for an ambulance. Cox said he was shocked by the viciousness of the beating.
His fellow police officers told his wife that Cox had slipped on a patch of ice. They wrote police reports that hid what actually happened while Cox spent the next six months recovering from his injuries. Almost every officer they interviewed from that night said they hadn’t seen anything and didn’t know anything.
Cox eventually sued the city and several officers, claiming he was only doing it to make sure this sort of thing never happened again. Instead, he was ostracized from the department when he did, but he remained on the force. Cox’s tires were slashed more than once. He became an outcast among many of the same officers he’d once considered friends and even brothers.
In 1998, Cox won a verdict against several officers, and the city settled his other claims in 1999, to the tune of nearly $1 million.
Fast forward a couple decades and Cox was appointed to BPD Commissioner in the summer of 2022 after now former Commissioner Dennis White, was placed on leave following a Boston Globe investigation into a domestic abuse accusations.
‼️And NOW HE IS BEING SUED‼️
For what? I’ll give you three guesses...

Lawsuit summary: Former BPD Superintendent Marcus Eddings alleges he was illegally demoted to deputy superintendent on January 20, 2024, in violation of the Massachusetts Whistleblower Act. He oversaw an investigation that uncovered 693 paid detail and overtime fraud violations involving 43 officers.
‼️‼️Eddings claims Commissioner Cox ordered him to halt the investigation to avoid a departmental scandal, retaliating with a demotion when he refused‼️‼️

Is the portal straight to hell located in Massachusetts? What in the world is happening there?!?
🚨 HORRIFIC NEW DETAILS: Two young siblings murdered by their own mother were not only strangled - toxicology findings reveal multiple drugs in their systems.
A Massachusetts medical examiner has finally revealed the causes of death for 7-year-old Kai MacAusland and his little MacAusland, who were found dead inside their Wellesley home on April 24, 2026.
According to the medical examiner, BOTH children died from mechanical asphyxia and acute intoxication involving multiple medications, including:
* Zolpidem (Ambien), a prescription sleeping medication.
* Lorazepam (Ativan), a prescription medication commonly used for anxiety.
* Acetaminophen (Tylenol).
* Ibuprofen (Advil/Motrin).
Their mother, 49-year-old Janette MacAusland, an acupuncturist and massage therapist, is now facing two counts of first-degree murder.
Authorities state that Janette killed her children around April 22 before fleeing approximately 140 miles to her aunt’s home in Vermont.
When she arrived, investigators say she was distraught, bleeding from a wound on her neck, and confessed to killing both children.
According to police, she later admitted:
“I strangled them and tried to kill myself.”
Authorities say she explained that she had wanted herself and her children to “go to God together.”
Police subsequently located both children dead inside their Massachusetts home.
Janette and her estranged husband were involved in a divorce and custody battle. Her husband had filed for divorce in October 2025 and requested custody of the children.
The children were killed just days after the court appointed someone to investigate the family’s custody situation.
Medical experts say the combination of sedating medications and asphyxiation could become significant evidence in determining whether the killings were premeditated.
On October 19, a grand jury indicted Janette on two counts of first-degree murder. She has pleaded not guilty and remains in custody without bail.
She is scheduled to appear in Norfolk Superior Court on November 3.
If convicted, she faces life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Please quit saying “she could have said no” or “she knew what she was doing” or “when I was that age I would have known to do XYZ.”
First of all, you sound like a PDF when you say things like this. Secondly, how morally disgusting do you have to be to blame a CHILD SA victim? post.
Every single CHILD in this age range matures at their own pace. Just because you or your “CHILD was mature enough to make good decisions at 15 years old,” does NOT mean every 15 year old is mature enough to make a decision, or even know what the right or wrong decision is.
Multiple people actually testified that #SandraBirchmore seemed immature for her age. Sadly, some of the same people who called her immature knew what was going on and still never stepped in to protect her or report it.
I am a mother to 3 CHILDREN who are currently in the same age range as the CHILDREN who were in the Stoughton PD Explorers program (6th-12th grade)…
Same age as Sandra when she started being groomed by #MatthewFarwell…
Which makes this trial even more sickening to me.
The maturity level of CHILDREN when they’re between the ages of 12-17 is HIGHLY dependent on that child’s individual circumstances.
For a real life example, I am sitting at an all day middle school baseball tournament as I type this:
-ALL of the CHILDREN here had to be driven here by an adult.
-Only a few of the players were taller than a parent.
-Half of the CHILDREN are having sunscreen applied by a parent.
-At least 4 other parents in the parking lot had to carry something for their child’s bc they were too small to carry all of their equipment themselves.
-Two CHILDREN have mustaches. The rest do not.
-I’ve seen 3 CHILDREN need an adult tie their shoes for them.
-One CHILD got lost coming back from the bathroom.
-Three GIRLS are currently getting their hair braided by their mothers.
-Every team has a designated parent that brought drinks and snacks for the CHILDREN between games.
-There’s rows of dads giving basic batting advice to their CHILD as they go up to bat.
-The music playing is on the speakers is from Kidz Bop.
I say all of this to remind everyone that there’s a reason the law claims anyone under age 18 (17 in some states) cannot legally consent to s*x.
CHILDREN still need protection and support from caring adults. A CHILD cannot, and should never be asked to, consent to any sexu*l acts with an adult. Period.
Sandra was not protected. She was preyed upon by adults that she thought she could trust to make good decisions for her. Other adults looked the other way while a child was being hurt by another adult. Sandra should not have been expected to say no or be expected to report what happened to her, because she didn’t know it was wrong.
But Matthew Farwell knew it was wrong. And he did it anyway.
Matthew Farwell is the ONLY one to blame.

If you don’t know, Chief Donna McNamara was suspended by the Town of Stoughton because she had another tranche of data for the FBI; she was ready to expose at least one more current police officer in her ranks… With the Matthew Farwell trial, that name is starting to gain focus.

I am a big fan of Microdots’ work because my troglodyte brain still needs visuals to understand anything.
This video is about an hour long but provides a great visual rundown of the Farwell/Birchmore “relationship” timeline.
Some details I find questionable, like there being footage outside the apartment and the dispatcher calling Farwell at home, but I don’t think that takes away from the overall credibility of the timeline.
