what that means for you:
Today Status Network's gasless execution moves to a larger stage.
After productive discussions among both ecosystems, Status Network will merge into @LineaBuild Mainnet!
Pre-deposit vaults will migrate to Linea Mainnet for withdrawal with a liquid reward pool of 20M SNT and 20M LINEA. Vaults remain fully backed and no action is required before the claim interface goes live.
Status Network will not launch as a standalone mainnet. The plan is to merge our gasless execution model and sequencer-level spam protection mechanism upstream to become native capabilities for every rollup built on the Linea stack. This move will unlock new privacy primitives for the whole ecosystem as removing gas eliminates persistent onchain funding trails and fingerprints, enabling ephemeral stealth accounts and free cover traffic.

TIL I learnt that Neil Koblitz and Ralph Merkle being listed in the team page on the very early website was not a joke.
They were actually advising (at least to some degree) in the early days.
I always thought that was just an in-joke, like "Ha, ha, and Satoshi too, I suppose?"

@cohered Russell once gave a lecture on AI safety. He described how researchers evaluate models inside controlled sandboxes, using simulated tools and honeypots to detect dangerous behavior.
At the end, a little old lady stood up.
“What you’ve told us is rubbish. Your sandbox is a backdoored honeypot.”
Russell smiled. “And what do you suppose is running the honeypot?”
“Another backdoored honeypot.”
“But what’s running that one?”
“You’re very clever, young man, very clever,” said the old lady. “But it’s backdoored honeypots all the way down.”
