Day 3 of @arbitrum Founder House Singapore: networking networking networking.
This in-person event brought in 100+ builders across 60+ projects from every habitable continent around the world.
Today, after teams submitted their projects, we had a day full of networking with other teams. The most interesting part to me was learning about the story behind every builder in the event.
From OGs dating back from the 2018 era to newer faces, understanding the story behind what brought them to the table. Some shared the excitement behind playing with Defi, taking crazy trades, and even latest yield farming opportunities.
Great mix of first time and repeat founders, some with successful exits and some who continue hustling their way through. Never easy to share the fragile part of building, the amount of pain and suffering it takes to get there is often overlooked.
Congratulations to all the winners of this buildathon again, and looking forward to seeing how many unicorns come out of this cohort.
Over the next couple days, we will go over the advice from all the mentors and teams I've talked to for @zona_io . Couple new exciting updates in the works:
1. Enable stock borrowing
2. Add GLD and a couple more stock tokens requested by users
3. Add in some yield tokens to the lending pool
4. One click looping
5. Enabling 24/7 borrowing when it makes sense
6. Huge promotion campaign coming in 👀

Day 2 of @arbitrum Open House Singapore just ended - a day full of heavy GTM sessions, hammering from mentors, networking, and pitching
1. Deep dive into GTM with @Paxos @pendle_fi @SBISEC digital markets : three types of customers tradfi, defi, retail. tradfi sale cycles can go up to 2 years, scaling down with defi and retail. But a big deal with arbitrum can be done in maybe 2-3 weeks.
2. Incentive is a great tool to capture user attention and get them to try out your product, mercenary capital will always exist, users will come in to farm. Good way is to focus incentives on a singular product or feature that you want to push or highlight for users.
3. If you have no leverage on the partner, always begin a partnership with a small ask, like say a co-tweet on X, instead of diving straight into big number deals. And build up the relationship over time.
4. @Swagtimus sharing the example with @DenariaFinance showing their initial traction after figuring out they didn't need to build a new liquidity layer, they just needed to construct a new frontend on top of GMX. This could be a very useful tip for Zona going forward.
5. Drill product mentorship session with defi experts @0x_allan Coinflip: consider adding in the borrowing of stocks so stock depositors can earn yield from stock borrowers (very useful one), watch out for when chainlink integrates 247 for stock prices. great feedback session to go over our product and think from an outside expert pov.

Day 1 of @arbitrum Founder House Singapore is insane - brought in a great mix of speakers sharing and got to meet a lot of hidden gems in the Arbitrum and @RobinhoodCrypto ecosystem.
1. Big Intro by @aditichoprax and @Swagtimus
2. Distribution from @vibegrower from @Quicknode and @ayobuenavista from @pendle_fi : one story stood out to me - pendle spent first 3 years without meaningful pmf (very humble) but they ran different experiments and finally popped off during the eigenlayer period. Another thing is try to go for recurring users, don't focus on one time users who use your product once and go away, try to look for the ones who stay using your product.
3. Figure out your wedge by @zklumi at offchain : focus on a small subset of target user, and a small pain point in a small market, don't go for massive markets. Get validation from your first 5-10 users and really understand their pain point and workflows.
4. @0x_allan from offchain: using the example of akash , have a clear price advantage over AWS, go to discord, forums, github, x, to see what people are saying, tag the user who has a pain point, go through as many workflows of competitors or identical products as possible, pay attention to each interface, walk a mile, try not to outsource to ai agent for this, really understand each process step to step.
