Why don't I use Managed Runtimes?
Once, something randomly broke and it took a while to figure out why. Turns out it was down to some obscure bug in the new version of Node that AWS had upgraded us to. Turned off managed runtimes after that.
Why don't I have an agent auto-deploying fixes?
Same reason, really. And I prefer to know when a deployment is going out. I might allow auto deploys in the future during my waking hours, but never while I'm asleep. I don't care how good your self-healing swarm is or whatever, I'm running a business that demands high uptime (API service) so I'm just not going to risk any downtime.

One of my favourite things to do with Claude, is when I'm designing some UX interaction and I casually ask it to make a dozen variations so I can pick the one that "feels" best.
If I asked a human to do that, keyboards would get thrown at my head.

Occasionally I stumble upon something like Tinyfish (web browsers for agents) and I think about how cool it would be to build something purely for the "agent economy". I mean, that's the future, for sure.
But I feel like it's also going to be brutally winner-take-all, cheapest itching cost to a competitor. It's a VC-funded game not an indiehacker one.
As an indiehacker I'm going to focus on the use cases where there is a still a human in the loop, even if that's only for the next couple of years before the entire world runs on AI and we all have to become dancing monkeys or farmers.

To be clear: I think you can still make tons of money as a wrapper. There are lots of useful things AI models can do that a harness plus unique UX plus targeted marketing, can be a good arbitrage play.
But video isn’t one of them. It’s just too damn expensive.

… expensive plus eroding margins plus the fact that the main use case right now is just “create slop” makes for something I would never want to touch as an entrepreneur.

honestly I don't even know how some of these AI wrappers work, some advertise "discounts" off the published price, on models they don't own. so what's happening there? either they are selling below cost to acquire customers, or they are buying in bulk from the provider and passing the saving to their users.
either way sounds brutal.
not sure what the long term plan is for these types of businesses.

Just created a new API key and it was on screen for 2 seconds while you pasted it into your credentials file?

I'm currently working on a few things:
- my existing SaaS
- a freemium mass product with a long term view
- a high ticket niche product with short term potential
- a boring enterprise product driven by outbound sales
Diversification.

Every AI reply is following the same pattern, asking me which one I work on in the morning.
It’s all so tiresome. At least make your bot say some different shizz.

Why do AI design bots love to do that small mono space pre-heading before the actual heading thing.
Dead giveaway of AI slop.
It’s the mdash of UI design.

I swear some of X acts like build in public is the only GTM strategy.
If that were the case then the majority of businesses out there would not exist.
It must be possible to grow a successful tech company off of X, without having to fanfare about MRR charts here.
