started listening to hard fork again after a long break. @readmaxread is a phenomenal host, much less overtly biased in favor of the tech companies than the prior hosts and the show is so much more pleasant for it. plus he’s a great interviewer. hope he becomes the permanent host

this is an (accidentally) really good example of how ideologies are coded into models—in this case, effective altruism is deeply coded into the models at anthropic, despite their claims to "not being an EA company"

I love being woke at work because I just hosted an event across three Employee Recourse Groups (ERGs), when most tech companies got rid of their DEI these days.
I’m one of three Co-Leads for 1) Women @ Uber’s SF chapter and collaborated with 2) Asian@, and 3) Interfaith @ Uber ck the room + webinar with ~135 ppl, coming to see Silicon Valley legend Kamini Ramani.
Originally born in India— I could’ve even looped in Immigrants @ Uber on this one—she’s a 40-year veteran marketer who built her career in Silicon Valley, advising legendary founders like Steve Jobs and guiding venture capitalists at the Mayfield Fund. Today around noon, she paid us a visit in Mission Bay and gave her first ever book talk post-launch, one week ago.
