If Republicans become the party of Trumpism and Democrats become the party of anti-American bigotry, the vast majority of patriotic, common-sense Americans will need to form a third party to represent our interests in solving problems and building an inclusive, democratic future for everyone.

But either party can earn the support of the vast majority of Americans by rejecting extremism and embracing a patriotic, common-sense, positive vision of the future.

Most Americans love our country and reject both January 6 insurrectionists attacking our Capitol and October 7 terrorists murdering our fellow citizens.

Why is @UMich silencing this? This woman assaulted me and @teameffujoe , resisted arrest, and threatened to KILL ME.

The fact that the police let her out of custody is absolutely insane to begin with. And now the fact @UMich as let her back onto campus. and is silencing people is unfathomable. She is a DANGER to students. She is someone who has been institutionalized and is on multiple SSRIs.

If I were a parent at this school, I would IMMEDIATELY remove my child.

When I went to the ER yesterday, I was told by the physician that assaults are very common on this campus.

This is an absolute disgrace.
So @UMich is allegedly hushing yesterdays assault. The perpetrator was let go, and no students apparently feel they’re not allowed to talk about it.

The Reddit post regarding the incident has been locked.

An Israeli was recently attacked in NZ, hospitalised with spinal injuries and concussion, is now in a wheelchair facing months of rehabilitation. NZ media has barely reported on it. This is only one example of an increasing climate of hostility and violence towards Jewish and Israeli communities in NZ. A collective of organisations released a media statement to draw attention to this issue. It has largely been ignored. The group has now fundraised to publish the statement in a major NZ paper. These are the extraordinary lengths one must take, to draw attention to this issue.

Israel’s Arab parties went from 10 seats to 19.

Their leaders refuse to call Hamas a terrorist organization.

And yet they ran, their voters voted, and they won 19 seats in Israel’s parliament.

The election committee tried to disqualify them. The Supreme Court unanimously overturned it.

You can strongly oppose everything Israel stand for and still recognize this for what it is:

A pretty remarkable example of democracy.

This was a disturbing and deeply embarrassing scene in Gaza City today during the funeral of a man killed in an Israeli airstrike for allegedly being affiliated with Hamas. Members of his clan fired thousands of rounds into the air, initially causing panic and confusion among nderstand what was happening. The spectacle of armed men recklessly discharging weapons sparked widespread anger and contempt among many Gazans, who viewed it as yet another example of the destructive behavior of powerful clans in the Strip.

The incident renewed calls to disarm Gaza's clans and militias and remove weapons from civilian hands to reduce crime, curb intra-Palestinian violence, strengthen the rule of law, and break patterns of behavior that fuel radicalization, intimidation, and the dominance of armed actors over civil society.

Many Palestinians bitterly note the irony that these same clans and armed strongmen, so eager to display their power before fellow Palestinians, tend to disappear when confronted by the Israeli military. Time and again, tribal militias, criminal gangs, and other armed actors avoid direct confrontation with the IDF, yet readily turn their weapons on other Palestinians, whether against Palestinian Authority forces in the past or, at times, even against Hamas itself.

There should be no tolerance for lawlessness. Neither "martyrs" nor their families have the right to terrorize an entire society in the name of archaic notions of honor, death glorification, or tribal privilege. Hamas and Gaza's powerful clans alike must be disarmed, for the sake of Palestinians and Israelis alike.

I bought a hat with some Hebrew text on it.

In thirty minutes of wearing it in public, I've had two people come up and challenge me about the hat, asking what language it was and then glaring at me when I said Hebrew.

I'm not Jewish.

I don't like living in a world with ethnic t, and it has to be pushed back against. You can have whatever feelings you want about a war on the other side of the world, but hating someone here because of what language you think they speak is disgusting.

@wassdocS@Joelmpetlinel is about $3.8B under the MOU ($3.3B FMF + $0.5B missile defense). Roughly $250M of FMF (FY2026) can be spent in Israel via offshore procurement, phasing to zero by 2028; the rest and most missile-defense funds return to US industries. At a US population of ~343M, the full aid costs ~$11 per citizen; the portion spent in Israel costs under $1.

@marckenigsberg @TheJewishIdeaspeech rules, which focus on direct threats or protected-class attacks. This is political speech criticizing foreign aid and a candidate's stated positions.

The core claim is false: US aid to Israel is ~$3.8B yearly (under 0.1% of the federal budget), mostly spent on American weapons systems, so it does not divert funds from Michigan groceries or healthcare. Prices stem from inflation, energy, and supply factors. Rogers has voiced strong Israel support, including "unconditionally" in clips.

What Israel did in Gaza may well go down in history as the most humane and precise urban warfare environment the world has ever known—the very opposite of genocide.

The entire purpose of a genocide is to push civilians into the killing zone.

Think about what happened in the en in line at Auschwitz were given bars of soap, where inside of the gas chambers there were fake shower heads.

What was the point?

It was to trick and induce civilians to get in to the killing zone so that you could kill more of them more efficiently over time.

Israel has done the very opposite—warning civilians and then manning humanitarian corridors with its own soldiers, risking its own sons’ and daughters’ lives to ensure that civilians get out of the killing zone.

We see two remarkable things in Gaza.

First, according to preeminent urban warfare scholars like John Spencer, Richard Kemp, and Andrew Fox, Israel has the lowest militant-to-civilian kill ratio in the history of urban warfare.

Genocides have extreme civilian-to-militant kill ratios. Hundred, thousand, ten thousand-to-one. That’s the point of a genocide.

Here we have a militant-to-civilian kill ratio of may be two-to-one—not consistent not just with law of war violations—but much less with genocide.

Second, and more importantly, all genocidal regimes get better over time at killing civilians.

Again, think about the Holocaust. The Nazis started with firing squads killing 20, 30, 50 people at a time and realized that was too inefficient. Then they got these vans and filled them with exhaust pipes, and they would kill more people. And they said, “We’re never going to get to six million killing them this way.” That led them to construct these massive gas chambers and crematoria—the architecture of true genocide—to kill thousands and thousands of people cheaply and efficiently a day.

Israel has done the opposite.

Even if you believe Hamas’ numbers, the scale of civilian death in Gaza went down over time. Israel got better and better and spent hundreds of millions of shekels learning how to become more efficient at preserving innocent Palestinians’ lives.

Again, the very opposite of genocide.
