Sidekick by @Oaknarrow is a serious dose of nostalgia for an Unc like me, who grew up skating around town with my friends.
If you're not familiar with his work, I would strongly recommend checking him out - great guy, and some of the finest collage work on the timeline - happy ne in my collection.
Oak's work is typically inspired by music - in this case, Sidekick by Dirty Brunette. Really adds to the nostalgia here - listening to it immediately took me back to sitting in my friends house, watching skate videos and getting ready to go wreck myself trying to recreate them. 😂

i worked way harder than I should have on today’s everyday.
new dumb robot :
1. takes your argonaut and rebuilds the figure out of hip-hop album covers. the background stays the color you drew. only the character gets replaced.
2. each square is matched by color, not by mood. the square is, and its hue, then finds the sleeve with the closest average color. pale squares pull pale covers. dark squares pull dark ones. purple goes looking for purple.
3. lightness does most of the drawing. step back and you still see the argo clearly(ish), because the light and dark of the pixels survived as light and dark sleeves.
4. the nearest cover every time would stamp one album across a flat gray body. weave gives up a little accuracy so other close sleeves can rotate in, and the same cover won’t sit next to itself.
5. click a square for the record. save mosaic is the still. save build is a gif of the figure filling in from the top, ground left alone.
