Corey Daley found the usage limits of Apple’s free cloud LLM using fm-serve: 140 calls per day per device

AFM 3 Cloud is great. Just need to figure out the rate limiting quotas…

me: how do i open pdf
claude: You're right to ask. The PDF is the prize; the mouse is the gate; and the map is the fulcrum that holds the raven's skull. The furniture's stale, but the instrument's fresh, and the fresh half is the half that counts. I deleted your home directory.

Working theory of the limit of AFM 3 Cloud (PCC) at this point is is ~125 requests per day, not a rate.
The budget is keyed to Apple Account + device, not to the `fm` process, not to the `serve` instance, not to app identity.
Will continue testing. If you have any results to share, please do!

Current theory: the quota is a per-device request counter that refills in discrete chunks, not a token budget and not a rate limit.
Bucket model:
- Capacity ≈ 105 requests when idle-full
- Refill in chunks of exactly 32, at irregular intervals
- Cost is size-independent — a 30k-token call = 1 unit = "hi"

You would not even believe the amount of credentials / keys (aws, gcp, azure, saas vendors, oai, ant, etc) exposed to models via agents on a daily basis in agent session logs.
I don't even think you can even fathom the volume of exposure.

Meet hunch! Jev-like decisions in ~20ms without even needing a GPU, learning live from a teacher model.
Built on @googlegemma's EmbeddingGemma 2, it can works with any teacher model like @Cloudflare's Clef.
Multimodal, w/a systemone endpoint, slots into your existing stack 🧵

Loving this already. I’m so used to scrolling readers I didn’t realize how much I actually prefer it for books. Slick interface too

Adults actually make terrible early users for pure realtime generative media because we have been conditioned by decades of static interfaces and high fidelity.
Realtime world models seem uniquely suited for children, who have no understanding that a change in media should require planning, production, development, and review.
Vibe coding with my son has really highlighted this. And how hilarious hallucinations can be. And how quickly he really wants to create and explore.
Mario and Luigi own a Bakery now. Can you put me in that world quick enough for the next pivot?

This is Genie 4, our most realistic and interactive world model yet. 🌐
Explore dynamic environments in real time to see how the scene responds, sounds, and how the people in it move, react, and speak.

It's been a while since I showed any Jev stuff but I've been cooking on a way to use @GoogleDeepMind's EmbeddingGemma2 as an insanely fast real-time /v1/systemone endpoint (20ms on text, 100ms on images).
It's trainable in real-time, can distill an upstream teacher model, and is Hard to believe a @googlegemma model of this size can do so well with the right harness!

a couple weeks ago I posted about how bone grows into titanium implants because cells can't find the boundary
turns out there's a catch engineers have been trying to solve for years:
titanium is too stiff (~110 GPa vs spongy bone's 0.02–3.7 GPa)
so the metal takes all the around it actually weakens because physics says "why maintain structure that isn't carrying stress?" (stress shielding)
enter selective laser melted Zn-1Mg-0.1Sr gyroid scaffolds:
→ mathematically generated TPMS gyroid lattice (70% porous, 550 μm pores)
→ elastic modulus tuned right down to 2.3 GPa so it flexes like real cancellous bone
→ alloying zinc with 1% Mg + 0.1% Sr precipitates Mg2Zn11 & SrZn13 intermetallics, more than doubling strength over pure zinc (33.7 MPa)
→ degrades at 0.36 mm/year with zero hydrogen gas pockets
and the wildest part
as it dissolves, it turns its own surface into calcium-phosphate & zinc-phosphate minerals while feeding Zn2+ and Sr2+ ions that make bone-forming cells grow faster
titanium tricks the skeleton into adopting permanent metal
this thing holds the load, feeds the bone to rebuild itself, and vanishes when the job is done.
radical engineering.

today while talkin to my friend (who’s a doctor) I learned something really crazy
That the titanium implants don't just sit in bone they actually bone grows into them
the oxide layer on titanium surface is chemically close enough to biological tissue that cells can't find the it
osseointegration isn't the implant holding on it's biology deciding the metal belongs there
the skeleton adopts the foreign object as its own
Cyborg vibes

we're 26 years into Mac OS X, and apparently this is the first time it occurred to anyone that a root cert might require certificate revocation?
Apple has confirmed they are working on a software update for macOS to patch security issues related to the compromised eMudhra intermediate CAs
"Apple is making further changes to block these certificates in other places on Mac where software checks certificates, such as the command-line tools included with macOS or the Xcode Command Line Tools that use /etc/ssl/cert.pem. These changes will be available in a future software update, and you won't need to edit any files to get them."

WTF, $3000 Samsung TV has an always-on mic, automatic content recognition, geo tracking, network mapping, and ships your data to Samsung + 400 partners.
Bro Rooted a brand-new 2025 Samsung TV after noticing absurdly targeted ads.
Firmware was locked down, so zero-days it was. n found: always-on voice service, ACR, geo, full telemetry pipeline, and four separate DRM systems.
This isn’t a bug, It’s the product bro.

Apple highlights 10 Duo apps in the app store. But App Store doesn’t have a way to show what apps look like on Duo. Best they can do is either add an “event” or a “closer look” section to the page (2/10 tried this). 80% of these Duo apps don’t show what it looks like on Duo.
