We are on the verge of a civilizational change.
Yet outside of books, there is an intense philosophical void.
Little thread.

My life, like many builders, is currently dictated by Tibo's resets (which happen at 6AM in London).

I knew this weekend Tibo would likely offer resets, so I invested Saturday & Sunday extracting all the juice I could from this available intelligence until 5 am to tackle some of my hring & physics ideas. And I got dream results.

However, this wrecks my work / life balance & my sleep schedule even more than usual. I really hope we get out of the last-minute reset culture one day, in favor of something more sustainable & predictable.
Day 21/ Wonder what happens the remaining seven days. But today is a reset.

We don't all live in the same timeline.

Many still run on obsolete mental models of reality, knowingly or unknowingly. I don't mind those who don't know.

But some willingly refuse to update their model, entertaining the delusion that as long as their minds remain on an old oo.

The worst are those who prevent others from updating their models. Usually, their status depend on it.
I live approximately 1 year in the future but I know some people who live 2-5 years in the future. I also know some who live 2-10 years in the past.

New trend: No AI, [insert badass human feat]

While the world is using AI to build faster, larger & more ambitious, artisanal software engineering will become an anachronic nostalgic niche, similar to channels dedicated to crochet / swordsmithing / bushcraft / primitive building.

It'introduced to a technical topic & shown how it works from someone trustworthy & experienced.

👀 legendary Wouter dropping an entirely new high performance language out of nowhere
Goose: my latest programming language. Safer, faster and less memory than Rust/C++ for algorithms where tightly packed, flat data structures matter.

It can represent more kinds of data structures as flat, pointer-free bytes than any language I know.

I love today's speed of development. A new language? Instant exploration by thousands of people. Goose is getting more promising every single day.

Now that human code is tested at industrial scale, it turns out to be incredibly sloppy & full of vulnerabilities, as expected.

This is way worse than the infamous 2000 bug.

Move your private data off the cloud. Clean up your online footprint. Assume nothing online is safe. It’s as if you had CIA spies with a large budget to dig everything about you.
SITUATION DETECTED: CloudFlare CEO Matthew Prince says he is aware of additional severe vulnerabilities in other pieces of critical software, and said “I think we’re going to have a couple years where every single week it’s going to feel like the sky is falling,” per Reuters.

The media attacked rare optimistic souls like me declaring the exact same reassuring message years in advance.

But now that it’s Miyamoto’s own words, notice how they don’t dare attacking.

The price to be early I guess.
Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto, the acclaimed designer behind Super Mario and Zelda, has explained why he believes generative AI won’t make human creativity obsolete.

"There will always be a role left for us to play."

85% of UK lottery millionaires didn't start a business. Give someone a genie's lamp, and they might have no idea what to wish for.

AI will give billions of people unprecedented power. Yet removing constraints doesn't automatically give them imagination, ambition, or vision.
i showed my non-tech friend codex and how you can make anything and ask it to do anything for you on your computer and he literally did not gaf

The team at @JangaFX is absolutely world-class.
Everything they develop is state-of-the-art, beautiful & performant. If I wasn't making a highly stylized game I would 100% use their tools.

Get your investments out of France. Sell your properties, businesses & stocks. Right now.

The situation is dire. It translates in the streets. Weakness attracts aggression.

In 6 months, France will likely elect another statist president instead of an economically liberal one.
We've reached the mayhem stage for France. It's 10-year yield is exploding higher as is Italy's. Everyone else is getting safe haven inflows, notably the US and Germany. We've reached the stage where France's crisis is idiosyncratic and self-perpetuating.

If you have any investment in France, get them out, right now.

The country is 100% crashing economically, after decades of denial & refusing to adjust its untenable welfare systems.

Debt & interesting rates are exploding, and the average French person is totally infantilized, doesn’t realize that 57% of GDP is the failing state, that more than half of its revenue is taxed away (as it’s obfuscated & paid by the employer), has 0 awareness of the situation, 0 desire for liberalism & a smaller state.

The Economist mentions "Liberal Europe", but our problem is certainly not liberalism.

Europe suffers from an excess of statism, crushed by post-ww2 welfare policies that are untenable with current demographics, but remain as is because they're considered "social acquisitions".
