Announcing OUTPOST, a Dreamcast-first mode for Halo: Dreamcast Evolved.
Set after the events of Halo 3, OUTPOST is a base-building side story following a new group of Spartan volunteers. Take on 27 contracts and war games, buy armour upgrades, build your base, and recruit and AI companions have their own personalities, combat styles, and dialogue. Bring them on missions to build affinity, then get to know them through one-on-one conversations. If you enjoy Halo lore and character stories, there’s plenty here to explore.
You can also export your custom character as a code and share it with others, letting them import your recruit as an AI companion in their own OUTPOST.
I’ve worked to keep the story consistent with established Halo canon. Optional Romance setting for your character, off by default, lets you grow closer to your companions as your relationships develop by playing and talking to them. If you have a keyboard, you can type directly to them and they will respond!
Want to jump straight into combat? OUTPOST also includes freeplay Firefight across its available maps in OUTPOST FIREFIGHT, including Halo 2 favourites like Zanzibar.
Four-player online co-op is planned for the future. OUTPOST comes alongside the full original Halo: Combat Evolved campaign in Halo: Dreamcast Evolved.
