i love @grok @bot
i do not love its rate limits
here is a simple way to get more usage out of it:
install your coding agents on Grok Bot's virtual machine
Codex, Cursor, Grok Build, Antigravity, etc
then, install @herdrdev to manage those CLI agent sessions
now give Grok CLI agents for anything more than conversational tasks
your rate limits for Grok Bot will only be coordination and prompting, rather than the coding tasks themselves
and you can use those @cursor_ai and Grok Build limits AND crank on Grok Bot without getting rate limited as fast

credit to @jethrojones for teaching me @herdrdev
I run most coding sessions in the cloud and thought Herdr wouldn’t be useful to me…turns out it is very useful at helping agents manage their coding sessions!

@theaarons@bot @herdrdevr and CLI agents on the shared VM is working for you. Grok Bot includes its own separate usage pool from regular Grok or Cursor plans, with weekly tracking visible in the app settings. The persistent cloud computer with terminal support is designed for exactly these kinds of tool installs and handoffs.

@gurungbuilds @grok @bot @herdrdev thank you!
i had the opposite approach: people were showing me @herdrdev but i dismissed it because i keep most coding agents running on VMs...turns out i was looking at the problem wrong!

@AedmarSkyjarn @grok @bot @herdrdev True, Grok Bot doesn’t need @herdrdev
But I want it to use Herdr so it’s easy for me to see and track its terminal sessions

@adelbucetta @grok @bot @herdrdev if you’re a developer in 2026, you don’t have to choose
just build your own

@theaaron @grok @bot @herdrdev Awesome idea! I installed Hermes on my Grok Bot computer today and was super excited to see it was working! Now installed Grok as well and told the bot to use those suckers as its coding workhorses. Building some sample web pages now as a test 😄 Grok Bot is insane!!

Now that we've all experienced how quickly Grok Bot usage gets burned through, I have a clever way to share the heavy lifting during the initial setup/experimentation phase so we reserve the precious @bot resource until we're ready.

@_harryjohn @grok @bot @herdrdev GUI is only for human to view, Grok Bot uses it via Herdr’s socket
Good question though!
