I'm proud to announce my sequel essay on the Boriswave. At over 2,000 words, it traces the origins of the Boriswave and dismantles the myths and excuse-making that have flourished ever since.

I’ve just published my very first Substack article on tax, and it’s free to read in full.

I’m starting a series on the ruthless tax cuts Britain needs to get this country back on the right track. The first tax in my crosshairs is the Bank Levy.

The videos emerging from Africa of Islamists slaughtering Christians are truly satanic.

I have seen a video of Jihadists cutting the limbs off young Christian men and women before beheading them.

I genuinely don't understand why nobody is talking about this.

For those who decided to invent some bizarre new authoritarian law-and-order rule today to justify Moraes' ban on Bolsonaro leaving the country -- that if you're under investigation (without even being charged), it's normal to have your passport seized -- please note:

Lula's son is engulfed in several major financial scandals and investigations relating to lobbyist corruption. His passport has never been seized or cancelled. In fact, he left Brazil to go live in extreme luxury in Spain (in the same neighborhood where several of the world's highest-paid soccer players live), where nobody can explain the source of what appears to be his great wealth.

Countless rich and powerful people in Brazil, including Lula's allies, are under investigation yet freely leave the country when they want: jetting off to Dubai, France, wherever. Truly bizarre how some on the left start fabricating extremist police powers when it suits them.
Brazilian authorities and media are trying to find out where Flavio Bolsonaro is.

Brazil's notorious authoritarian Judge Alexandre de Moraes -- before the votes were counted -- already had an order prepared to seize Bolsonaro's passports and bar him from leaving the country even though **he's been charged with no crime** (there are various pending financial investigations). Moraes signed the order barring Bolsonaro from leaving Brazil SEVEN MINUTES after Lula was declared the winner on Sunday night.

A media outlet in Argentina this morning reported that Bolsonaro entered Argentina to fly to the US. His friends and allies deny this, but Flavio could easily just appear in Brazil or even by video and has not done so. Argentina is being sketchy, evasive and somewhat uncooperative with Brazil's federal police (Lula and Milei are obviously not allies).

Whatever else is true, it is not exactly a sign of a healthy, normal or functioning democracy when the candidate who narrowly loses a presidential race -- and concedes defeat -- is suddenly barred from leaving the country by a Supreme Court Judge now globally notorious for censoring, imprisoning and otherwise persecuting his critics and opponents of Lula's government. It is also worth noting that Bolsonaro's party dominates the Senate, having run on a vow to impeach Moraes, and this is seen by many as a kind of leverage/hostage ploy by Moraes to cling to power.

In 2005, a tram system proposal for Leeds, the largest city in Western Europe without a mass rapid transit system, was rejected by central government as being too expensive. It might have cost as much as £1 billion. Meantime, we have £5.7 billion for this.
£5.7billion is the estimated total cost of Afghan resettlement activity between 2021-22 and 2032-33.

We are using taxpayers’ money to destroy our own civilisation.

Please, let’s stop pretending that a ‘social contract’ still exists.

It doesn’t.

I was a criminal intelligence analyst for a decade, then a consultant in that kind of thing. I've never seen crime data portrayed like this, for good reason.

Logarithmic scales are used to compress exponential differences (bacteria multiplying, stock markets doubling year on year, differences between towns and cities).

In the Economist's case, a log scale would make sense if there was a reason for Afghan men to commit more of these crimes (if each Afghan had a hundred cocks, or was actually ten men inside one suit). But there isn't. The log scale just obscures the vastly higher rates of offending by these imported Labour voters.

The casual reader will skim over it and assume it's a linear scale. The one advantage is that it makes proportional differences below/close to the baseline easier to see. But it obfuscates the truth.
Baffling that people are calling my excellent data colleagues woke for producing this. It's not our fault you don't understand log scales!

These are obviously disturbing stats. Worth also reading the full piece for some perspective...

Lula is as sinister as Putin in so many ways.
“Flávio has given up,” an adviser to the Bolsonaro family told me. “He’s terrified. He is worried his father will die in jail, that he himself will be jailed this week and that he may have a long prison term ahead.”

Chomsky was wrong.

Researchers found your brain doesn’t store language the way every textbook since 1957 claims.

For decades, the undisputed rule of linguistics, led by Noam Chomsky, was that human language is hierarchical.

We were told our brains process language using " That we secretly build deep, abstract, mathematical rules in our heads before we speak.

This new paper proves that is completely wrong.

Researchers at Cornell University analyzed how people actually process and produce language in real time.

They found sequences. Linear chunks.

When we speak, we aren't calculating deep syntactic rules. We are just predicting the next most logical sequence of words based on the context of the words right before it.

We string linear chunks together.

If this sounds familiar, it should.

This is exactly how Large Language Models like ChatGPT work.

For years, critics have dismissed AI as "just a next-token predictor." They said it isn't truly intelligent because it doesn't understand deep grammatical hierarchies like humans do.

But this paper suggests humans don't use those hierarchies either.

We are just predicting the next chunk.

Language isn't a rigid tree of mathematical rules. It's a linear stream of contextual predictions.

We thought we were building AI to mimic the complexity of the human brain.

It turns out, the human brain was just running a simpler algorithm all along.

Lula is a gangster.
BREAKING:

Flávio Bolsonaro has been summoned by the Federal Police to hand over his passport within 24 hours by order of Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes.

The Supreme Court Justice argues that there is a risk that Bolsonaro could flee abroad to avoid prosecution.
