I think @zillow should add a "What [this price] gets you elsewhere" feature that shows you properties available at a comparable price in other parts of the country when you're looking at a listing
For the price of a 600-square-foot studio condo in Manhattan, you could own a 16-room 1878 French Second Empire mansion in West Virginia.

Columbia just showed a lot of "unresponsive" ICU patients were awake the whole time
41 patients with severe brain injuries, none could follow a single command
They put a regular EEG cap on them(no implant, no surgery) and played a beep
Patients were told to change the beep's pitch just by imagining opening and closing their hand
About 1 in 3 did it. With their thoughts. A few days into the hospital
Same team found hidden consciousness in ~15% of patients like this back in 2019, so the bedside exam has been missing people for years
Next step is letting them signal pain or hunger. Families already asked for a loved one's voice to be built in
Our kids won't believe we used to decide who was "gone" by asking them to squeeze a hand.

One interesting consequence of the sexual revolution is that fiber arts went from an incredibly normal hobby for women to extremely niche so crafting stores are now rife with tension between normie conformist boomers and freakish millennials/zoomers.

I also crocheted her a little pink hat which she promptly took off of her head but wouldn't let go of and she fell asleep grasping it in the middle of the party while we all ate cake 🥲🥲
My favourite kids store went online only but they still have cute things for a semi-granola auntie to get her fav 1yo for her birthday, including these food grade finger paints(!) and natural wood egg shakers in their own little carton.
Consider shopping here if you have kids in /TffMOxfnOg

I think everyone’s lost the plot with dating tbh
You’re looking for home. That’s the only point of any of it. A flickering hearth, a bountiful table, a passion that will wax and wane as unalarmingly as the moon. Deciding to love a person ideally involves the same simple blend of logic + intuition that goes into choosing a place to live: you have a short list of what you absolutely need, some things that are nice to have, but mostly it comes down to if it feels immediately instinctively NICE.
When you’re paying attention to how you feel that recognition comes pretty quickly imo. People overcomplicate it a lot, mostly by trying to look to others to figure out what they should care about.

Imagining a world where Vivek's embarrassing levels of ass kissing had paid off and Trump picked him for VP over Vance. I think he probably would have tried to invoke the 25th by now and might have even gotten others on his side before he did and it would be nice for someone to have the guts. But he's a lot more articulate, charismatic, and unafraid than Vance which is why he never stood a chance. Trump is one of only three presidents not to have a pet in the WH but he made sure to have a lap dog in JD, a man with more loyalty than smarts who bumbles along without noticing that he was picked for exactly that balance.

The same week TikTok blocked all promotion for the Musk documentary. What an incredible coincidence!
Elon Musk has reportedly invested around $1 billion into Skydance (the merged Warner Bros/Paramount company).

I was hoping she might help me pitch my idea for the future hit Nathan For Me but alas, I didn't manage to work it into the conversation this week
My therapist asked about what I'm looking forward to in the coming days then casually dropped that she used to intern for Nathan Fielder right as we were about to hang up and I don't care what happens between now and our next session that's all I want to talk about

my husband wholeheartedly believes in my goodness, so much so that he sees my faults as unavoidable extensions of my virtues. i suspect this sort of stance towards one’s partner and children is one of the best things you can do for your happiness.

Putting aside that you can’t ever know someone *completely*, I think being understood and still admired is a reasonable (mutual!) baseline for a partnership. The catch is you have to actually be admirable and let yourself be known. Everything you want is on the other side of cultivating strong character.
The male fantasy is a wife who understands him completely but somehow still thinks he’s impressive.

He would prefer the race just be about the issues, but unfortunately as a former member of the Trump administration he is bound by contract and tradition to seek out a random pedophile and try to rehabilitate their image
Vivek Ramaswamy just told reporters, "It is an ad from our campaign, and the thing that I want to say is that I would love for this race and this election to be about the substantive issues that impact Ohioans, and unfortunately, Amy Acton has been hiding from those issues. She won't debate me."
He later said Acton's mother was not compensated.
