🆕 Better stacks! Blurs on groups! Glass and fade combined! It’s update day! 🆕

First up, we’ve added min/max sizes, relative sizing, negative gap and z-index order options to stacks. Plus a whole bunch of smaller improvements, all based on your feedback. ↓

ICYMI, you can combine glass and fade effects in Sketch now.

(I just wanted another excuse to repost @raphaellopesph’s Mona Lisa icon)

We shipped a command bar in the web app a little while back. It’s the quickest way to get around and get things done.

All you’ve gotta do is hit Cmd-K (or Ctrl-K on Windows) and start typing.

If you didn’t already know, we’re over on Discord taking your feature requests (and, regrettably, bug reports), talking shop, sometimes talking not-shop, and occasionally sharing sneak peeks of what we’re working on.

Overlapping avatars and cards were the most requested stacks feature. Now you can give a stack a negative gap to overlap those items, then pick how they stack up.

(Pun intended)

In case you missed it, Sketch has now got you covered for:
1. Blurs on groups
2. Multiple shadows on frames (without fills) and groups
3. Glass and fade together
4. Fade on a layer that already has lower opacity

Developers don’t need a paid seat to work in Sketch. A free dev seat gives them tools to:

- Inspect and measure designs
- Copy CSS and colors in their preferred format
- Export assets on the fly
- Grab design tokens for colors, text and layer styles

Free. Actually free.

Your regular reminder that you can connect pretty much any agent to Sketch via the MCP server. It works locally, we don’t charge extra for it, and there are no limits.

Sometimes you just want to paste a shadow, or a fill, or a border, or an effect… Luckily, you can!

Use Option-Command-C to copy a layer’s properties, right-click another layer and choose what you want to paste.

Also, holding Option while you paste replaces existing styles.

“No variants support is the only thing stopping me switching back to Sketch”

Yeah, well, guess what?

Remove an image background in Sketch with one click. We use Apple’s on-device vision models for this, so your images never leave your Mac.

The prototype player is great for…playing prototypes, BUT! also for previewing changes you make in situ. Turn off Follow Selection to keep it pinned to your current selection. Now you can switch to something else, like a Symbol and see changes you make in context.

It’s new beta day! This one is good:
- Variants (finally!)
- Sections
- Symbols are called components now
- Plus plenty more improvements and fixes

But seriously go test variants because it’s what you’ve all been asking us for ↓

Fair warning: Documents you open in this beta aren’t compatible with other versions of Sketch. This will mess things up if you collaborate with others. So open copies, basically. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.

A reminder, for no reason at all, that:
• Sketch has a local MCP that works with any local agent
• We’re not in the business of selling you AI credits

Also, a sneak peek: talk to your agents directly within Sketch (coming later this year).
